A libretto is the text used in, or intended for, an extended musical work such as an opera, operetta, masque, oratorio, cantata or musical. The term libretto is also sometimes used to refer to the text of major liturgical works, such as the Mass, requiem and sacred cantata, or the story line of a ballet.
Libretto (pronounced [liˈbretto]; plural libretti [liˈbretti]), from Italian, is the diminutive of the word libro ("book"). Sometimes other language equivalents are used for libretti in that language, livret for French works and Textbuch for German. A libretto is distinct from a synopsis or scenario of the plot, in that the libretto contains all the words and stage directions, while a synopsis summarizes the plot. Some ballet historians also use the word libretto to refer to the 15–40 page books which were on sale to 19th century ballet audiences in Paris and contained a very detailed description of the ballet's story, scene by scene.
The relationship of the librettist (that is, the writer of a libretto) to the composer in the creation of a musical work has varied over the centuries, as have the sources and the writing techniques employed.

Plot: The fictionalized biography of composer Cole Porter from his days at Yale in the 1910s through the height of his success to the 1940s. The film's attempted biography matches many public myths surrounding Cole at the time, despite its lack of relationship with truth. For instance, truth and movie are different in regards to: his sex life (he was a gay man in a marriage of convenience with a divorcee friend), his relationship with his wife, Monty Wooley was a contemporary (not Professor), and his French military experience was a hoax.

People who grew up in the 1980s will definitely know composer Elfa Seciora's song "Pesta" (Party) and the songwriter Wieke Gur. Famous for her beautiful and meaningful lyrics, Wieke now presents her latest creation, Jatuh Cinta Lagi (Falling in Love Again), a book about her experience of writing lyrics. Published by Akoer, the 234-page book reveals Wieke's experiences in composing lyrics for 48 songs, in which she usually related her personal experience to the lyrics. For example, "Kusadari" (I Realize), was written after her aunt chose to leave her cheating husband (page 65). However, instead of writing mellow and cheesy lyrics, Wieke's words have been heart-strengthening. She was inspired to write the lyrics for "Katakanlah" (Say It) after singer Harvey Malaiholo had a fight with his ...

Mmm.. Listen, listen
Mmm...hmm...hmm... Listen, listen
Mmm...mmm... Listen, listen
Mmm...mmm... Listen, listen
Let me tell you 'bout my lady
She don't have much to say lately
Kinda acting like she hate me
And that ain't right (no)
Yes I heard it through the grape vine
Pretty soon she won't be mine
Can't believe my lady
Been working overtime
So tell me who...
(Chorus)
Who's she lovin' now (who she lovin'?)
Who's she lovin' now (mmm...)
Got me goin' up and down (got me goin' up and down)
Mmm... Somebody tell me
Who's she lovin' now (who she lovin'?)
Who's she lovin' now (who she rubbin'?)
Got me goin' up and down (got me goin' up and down)
Mmm... Check it out
Heard she been hanging with an old friend (what's his name)
Groupin' up with her girlfriends
Though it looks like a crowd
They be side by side
All night at the stepper set
5 a.m. and she ain't home yet
I might as well join a circus
Cos I'm lookin' like a clown
She got me wonderin'..
Could she be layin' in his bed (he probably got her layin' down)
Could he be pullin' her hair (oh no no no)
Probably screamin' out his name (I don't even know his name)
With me she used to do the same (somebody tell me..)
(Chorus)
Who's she lovin' now (who she lovin'?)
Who's she lovin' now (who she's rubbin')
Got me goin' up and down (got me goin' up and down, up and down)
Mmm... (who's she lovin')
Who's she lovin' now (oh)
Who's she lovin' now (I dont't understand it, no)
Got me goin' up and down (got me goin' up and down, up and down)
Mmm... (should've done this long ago..)
See, I should've crawled, I should've begged
I should've spent, I should've prayed
I should've cried, should've come home
Look at me now, everything is wrong
I should've crawled, no, I should've begged
I should've spent, no, I should've prayed
I should've cried, should've come home
Look at me now, I'm about to fall
(Chorus)
Who’s she lovin’ now (Who...)
Who’s she lovin’ now (Who’s she lovin’)
Got me goin’ up and down (Got me goin’ up and down, up and down)
Mmm... (She’s probably creepin’ with another man)
Who’s she lovin’ now (Who’s she lovin’)
Who’s she lovin’ now (Who’s she lovin’)
Got me goin’ up and down (Got me goin’ up and down, up and down)
Mmm... (I don’t understand it, oh)
See, I should have crawled, I should have begged
I should've spent, I should've prayed
I should've cried, should've come home
Look at me now, everything is wrong
I should've crawled, no, I should've begged
I should've spent, no, I should've prayed
I should've cried, should've come home
Look at me now, I'm about to fall
Mmm.. Listen, listen
Mmm...hmm...hmm... Listen, listen
Mmm...mmm... Listen, listen
