Bogeyman (also spelled bogieman, boogeyman, or boogie man, and pronounced /bʊɡimæn/ or /boʊɡimæn/; see spelling differences) is a common allusion to a mythical creature in many cultures used by adults or older children to frighten children into good behavior. This monster has no specific appearance, and conceptions about it can vary drastically from household to household within the same community; in many cases, he has no set appearance in the mind of an adult or child, but is simply a non-specific embodiment of terror. Parents may tell their children that if they misbehave, the bogeyman will get them. Bogeymen may target a specific mischief—for instance, a bogeyman that punishes children who suck their thumbs—or general misbehaviour, depending on what purpose needs serving. In some cases, the bogeyman is a nickname for the devil. Bogeyman tales vary by region. The bogeyman is usually a masculine entity but can be any gender or simply androgynous.
The word bogey is believed to be derived from the Middle English bogge/bugge (hobgoblin) and is generally thought to be a cognate of the German bögge, böggel-mann (English "Bogeyman"). The word could also be linked to many similar words in other European languages: bogle (Scots), boeman (Dutch), Butzemann (German), busemann (Norwegian), bøhmand / bussemand (Danish), bòcan, púca, pooka or pookha (Irish), pwca, bwga or bwgan (Welsh), puki (Old Norse), pixie or piskie (Cornish), puck (English), mumus (Hungarian), bogu (Slavonic), buka (Russian, бука), bauk (Serbian), bubulis (Latvian), baubas (Lithuanian), bobo (Polish), bebok (Silesian), papão (Portuguese), торбалан (Bulgarian), Μπαμπούλας (Greek), bua (Georgian, ბუა), babau (Italian), baubau(Romanian) papu (Catalan).
KC and the Sunshine Band is an American musical group. Founded in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida, its style has included funk, R&B, and disco. Their best-known songs include the disco hits "That's the Way (I Like It)", "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "I'm Your Boogie Man", "Keep It Comin' Love", "Get Down Tonight", "Boogie Shoes", "Please Don't Go" and "Give It Up". The band took its name from lead vocalist Harry Wayne Casey's last name ("KC") and the "Sunshine Band" from KC's home state of Florida, the Sunshine State.
The group was formed in 1973 by Harry Wayne Casey (KC), a record store employee and part-timer at TK Records in Hialeah, Florida (an independent city in Dade County, Florida). KC originally called the band KC & The Sunshine Junkanoo Band, as he used studio musicians from TK and a local Junkanoo band called the Miami Junkanoo Band. He was then introduced to Richard Finch, who was doing engineering work on records for TK. This was the beginning of the Casey-Finch musical collaboration. The initial members were just Casey and Finch. Guitarist Jerome Smith (June 18, 1953 - July 28, 2000) and drummer Robert Johnson, both TK studio musicians, were added later.

"I'm Your Boogie Man" is a song originally performed by KC and the Sunshine Band from their 1976 album Part 3.
Richard Finch said that the song was written about a DJ at a Miami, Florida radio station called Robert W. Walker, who was the first to give their hit single "Get Down Tonight" airplay. In 1977 the song reached the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 R&B Singles chart. Billboard ranked it as the No. 11 song of 1977. The song was also an international chart hit, reaching #1 in Canada and charting in Australia (#38), Belgium (#11), the Netherlands (#6), New Zealand (#12), and the UK (#41).
The song was sampled in at least one preview for all five of the Scary Movie films, as well as in the 2005 film Roll Bounce, the 2007 film Superbad and comic-to-film-adaptation Watchmen. It was also the opening song for the 1995 film The Last Supper.
White Zombie originally recorded a cover of "I'm Your Boogie Man" for the The Crow: City of Angels Soundtrack. However, since the song's release date, it has also appeared on Rob Zombie's greatest hits album Past, Present & Future and as a remixed version on the EP Supersexy Swingin' Sounds. The song is another different music style for the band as they are fusing disco with heavy metal. The audio samples in the song where children are heard saying "He's gonna get you! The Boogieman is coming!" are taken from the 1978 film Halloween which would later be remade in 2007 by Rob Zombie. The remixed version was also heard on a Halloween episode of the ABC television series 666 Park Avenue.
Boogie is a repetitive, swung note or shuffle rhythm,"groove" or pattern used in blues which was originally played on the piano in boogie-woogie music. The characteristic rhythm and feel of the boogie was then adapted to guitar, double bass, and other instruments. The earliest recorded boogie-woogie song was in 1916. By the 1930s, Swing bands such as Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Gerald Martin, and Louis Jordan all had boogie hits. By the 1950s, boogie became incorporated into the emerging rockabilly and rock and roll styles. In the late 1980s and the early 1990s country bands released country boogies. Today, the term "boogie" usually refers to dancing to pop, disco, or rock music.
The boogie was originally played on the piano in boogie-woogie music and adapted to guitar. Boogie-woogie is a style of blues piano playing characterized by an up-tempo rhythm, a repeated melodic pattern in the bass, and a series of improvised variations in the treble. Boogie woogie developed from a piano style that developed in the rough barrelhouse bars in the Southern states, where a piano player performed for the hard-drinking patrons. Wayne Schmidt remarks that with boogie-woogie songs, the "bass line isn't just a time keeper or 'fill' for the right hand"; instead, the bassline has equal importance to the right hand's melodic line. He argues that many boogie-woogie basslines use a "rising/falling sequence of notes" called walking bass line.

Watchmen OST 2009 Song: I´m Your Boogie Man - K.C. & The Sunshine Band
KC and the Sunshine Band, Im Your Boogie Man, 1976. (Soul Train) Enjoy!!
In its formative stages, this song had dummy lyrics that went like "I'll be a son of a gun, look what you done" about a relationship gone bad. KC was not happy with the song, and was inspired when he thought about the DJ's who played his band's music in the clubs. That's when the lyric "I'm your boogie man" came out and he finished the song making the DJ the subject and working in the idea that he was there to help and make you feel better. On the album Part 3, it segues directly into "Keep It Comin' Love" keeping the dancers on the floor and preaching to the masses to not give up, the Rev KC was testifying! He felt that many fight to get somewhere to get ahead, but end up quitting just before they would have succeeded and these two songs together got the message out there. The chart as...
