Ambala

Ambala (/əmˈbɑːlə/) is a city and a municipal corporation in Ambala district in the state of Haryana, India, located on the border with the state of Punjab and in proximity of the state capital Chandigarh. Politically; Ambala has two sub-areas: Ambala Cantonment (Ambala Cantt) and Ambala City, approximately 3 kilometers apart, therefore it is also known as "Twin City". It has a large Indian Army and Indian Air Force presence within its cantonment area. Ambala separates the Ganges river network from the Indus river network and is surrounded by two rivers – Ghaggar and Tangri – to the north and to the south. Due to its geographical location, the Ambala district plays an important role in local tourism, being located 47 km (28 miles) south of Chandigarh, the state capital, 148 km (93 miles) southwest of Shimla, 198 km (121 miles) north of New Delhi and 260 km (155 miles) southwest of Amritsar.Gurudwara Manji Sahib is also situated in Ambala.

History

It is said that Ambala District was founded by Amba Rajput during the 14th century AD. Another version is that the name is a corruption of Amba Wala meaning the mango-village, from mango groves which existed in its immediate neighborhood. Still, another version is that the District has taken its name after goddess "Bhawani Amba" whose Temple still exists in Ambala city.

Music for Love

"Music for Love" is an R&B song from Mario's third studio album Go, which was released on December 11, 2007 and is the third official single. Mario announced on 106 & Park that "Music for Love" would be the third official single to be released in April 2008.

It first appeared on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart on the week of April 3 at number 100.

It was produced by Ralph B. Stacy and written by Theron Thomas, Timothy Thomas, Jerrod Stacy and Mario.

Critical reception

Andy Colleman from allmusic says "bearing a definite resemblance to J. Holiday's gently rocking and swaying "Bed"".

Aaron Fields from KSTW.com says "This is one of the standout beats on this album. Talk about bumpin' this is the one to bump right here. A nice mid-tempo track with much bass. You'll want to put this one on repeat. His voice sounds great on this track and the arrangement is on point once again".

Music video

Mario announced that he would be shooting the video for "Music for Love" and it was rumored that Karina Smirnoff of Dancing with the Stars would appear in the video. However, as of July 2008 there was still no news of a music video for the song. Later it was revealed that there would be no video for "Music For Love" since Mario was working on his fourth album titled D.N.A.

Ramya Krishnan

Ramya Krishnan (born 15 September 1967 in Chennai) is an Indian film actress. She has acted in over 200 films in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Predominantly, she acted in almost 100 telugu and 60 tamil movies.

Early life and background

Ramya Krishnan was born in 1967 in Chennai. She is the niece of veteran Tamil comedian Cho Ramaswamy. She received initial training in Bharathanatyam, Western and Kuchipudi dance forms and has given many stage performances. Her mother tongue is Tamil.

Film career

Ramya started her acting career at the age of 13 with the Malayalam film Neram Pularumbol featuring Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead. This film had a delayed release in 1986. Her first release was Vellai Manasu (1985), a Tamil film opposite Y. G. Mahendra.

She is most noted for roles of the Goddess in Tamil and Telugu films, notably Ammoru (Amman in Tamil), Raja Kaliamman, Sree Raja Rajaeshwari, Annai Kaligambal, Kutty Pisasu and Madurai Meenatchi. One of her earliest movie roles was in the Kannada film Krishna Rukmini which was followed by Gadibidi Ganda, Mangalyam Thanthunanaena and Raktha Kanneeru.

Ambala Cantonment

Ambala Cantonment (Hindi:अम्बाला छावनी) is a cantonment town in Ambala district in the state of Haryana, India. It is some 200 kilometres north of Delhi and 50 km south from Chandigarh. Delhi-Kalka & Saharanpur-Ludhiana's railway lines and G.T. Road also passes through Ambala Cantt. This Cantt. was established in the year 1843 and is an important centre for manufacturing of scientific & surgical instruments.

Overview

The Cantonment is from the British times as it lies at an important junction, from here one can take the road North to Chandigarh and onwards to Simla, or turn East towards Uttar Pradesh, or go west to Ludhiana, and onwards to Jalandhar and Amritsar - Lahore.

It is a prominent junction and is located on the Grand Trunk Road. Just across the railway station is the bus stand.

British Raj

It has a lot of colonial bungalows and wide tree lined roads typical of British Cantonements in the subcontinent. It also gets a mention in the Rudyard Kipling book Kim. The formation sign of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh Area (earlier Punjab Area) located here (a Taurus on a Red background) is a theme in the book. The formation sign still exists for an Indian Army formation in Shimla with some units affiliated to it still using the sign in Ambala.

Sundar C.

Sundar C. is a South Indian film director and actor. He has directed over 25 films in Tamil and Telugu. Initially, he worked as an assistant director to Manivannan and became a director with the family drama Murai Maman. His notable films include Ullathai Allitha, Arunachalam and Anbe Sivam. He made his acting debut in 2006 with the film Thalai Nagaram. He made his directorial debut in Telugu with the film Something Something.
