What should you look for when buying digital slr cameras and photographic equipment. All major manufacturers make great quality cameras and they all take beautiful pictures - it's a matter of choosing the digital SLR camera that works best for YOU.
All cameras take great images these days and i don't subscribe to one make being 'better' than the next. If you're serious about photography I suggest names like canon or Nikon because of the vast range of lenses and accessories available.
However all the major brands make fantastic DSLR cameras which work equally well for all subjects. When buying one it's more important to find one that fits in your hand and is easy to get at the controls.
When you've bought your shiny new DSLR camera the next step it to learn how to take great images. The camera can't do this for you just as a flashy expensive car can't drive for you! Should you buy a Bridge Camera or a Digital SLR? Is changing from a bridge camera to a DSLR an upgrade - or are they just different? There are arguments for and against both of them and most of it depends on who you are and what you like because all digital cameras take great quality images.
I like the compact nature of bridge cameras (and compact cameras for that matter) but personally I find them complicated compared to a DSLR. But that's me!
In this video I'm going to have a go with a Canon G10 lent to me by a friend and see how I get on with it compared to my old Nikon D300 DSLR. And don't forget - I'm not into 'tech' - I just want to see how easy it is to get the photo I see in my head out through my arms and into the camera.

Digital single-lens reflex camera
A digital single-lens reflex camera (also called a digital SLR or DSLR) is a digital camera combining the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor, as opposed to photographic film. The reflex design scheme is the primary difference between a DSLR and other digital cameras. In the reflex design, light travels through the lens, then to a mirror that alternates to send the image to either the viewfinder or the image sensor. The alternative would be to have a viewfinder with its own lens, hence the term "single lens" for this design. By using only one lens, the viewfinder of a DSLR presents an image that will not perceptibly differ from what is captured by the camera's sensor.
DSLRs largely replaced film-based SLRs during the 2000s, and despite the rising popularity of mirrorless system cameras in the early 2010s, DSLRs remained the most common type of interchangeable lens camera in use as of 2014.

Noktor / SLR Magic Hyperprime 12mm f/1.6 The Daylight tests I've just received this afternoon from SLR MAgic their new wide and fast angle, a 12mm f/1.6 (24mm in 24X36 eq.) in a Micro Four Third mount. This is, to my opinion, an incredible lens, fast and wide, and there is no visible distortion. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It is all made in metal. XXX There is in my test a small vignetting in the outside shots due to the use of a 62mm L.C.W variable ND filter (with a 58mm/62mm step up ring). To avoid the vignetting you'll need a 67mm or a 72mm filter with the right step up ring, because remeber this is a wide lens ! I'll try with this combination later XXX -The lens has 12 aperture blades like cinema lens. -The 1.6 is a T stop aperture, eq. to f/1.4 aperture ! ( http://www.thephoblographer.com/tag/noktor/ ) -No visible distortion and optical correction instead of digital so people look normal at edge of photo. -No vignette (you'll need a step up ring for filters...) -When macro the lens is 3cm from object only !!!! The 12mm lens is a whole different lens than the Magic Toy 11mm. it is a lot better but at the same time it is not the same price. it is $500 US. it is very creative but has good performance as well. Macro ability is amazing on this lens. - Lens length 2.92 inches - Front filter thread 58mm - Weight is 325 grams In EU and US the lens will be SLR Magic HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with a SLR Magic black ring. (TBA. around End November or December) In other parts of the world it will be the Noktor HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with the Noktor green ring -the one I'm using for this test (available in October) From Andrew from SLR Magic : "It had been a big challenge designing this lens and living up to the Noktor Ultra Fast Lens name. F1.6 is the largest aperture we can get this UWA lens to go. It works great indoors but flares when there is strong light. When you stop down to f2 there are no more problems. It was a debate for us if this was a good decision or not. Making this lens F1.6 with some flaws or make it F2 or F4 with no flaws wide open but smaller aperture." GH2 24P Nostalgic mode Noktor / SLR MAgic Hyperprime 12mm f/1.6 Apertures between f/1.6 and f/5.6 L.C.W Mark II 62mm ND variable filter for the outsides shots + step up ring 58mm to 62mm Shutter speed : 1/50 All the shot @ 160 asa except in the stairs. The anamorphic look is something I highly covet! Personally, flares aren’t really my thing, it’s more the stretched oval-shaped bokeh and the wide field of view that fascinates me. I bought an ISCO (2X squeeze) a few months ago but found the de-squeeze a little ridiculous on a 16:9 sensor; extremely narrow at 1920x540. I’ve heard there are some workarounds to get a better aspect ratio but it’s not only that, it’s the fact that I rarely have something to monitor anamorphic footage on - it’s hard to monitor and hard to focus hence why I decided to get the SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x. The 1.33x stretch isn’t the sexiest squeeze when it comes to the anamorphic look. The oval bokeh isn’t as pronounced as the 1.5x and the 2x so people have found it somewhat pointless. I agree, well sort of. The 1.33x works really well with a 16:9 sensor (most digital cameras are) except the likes of ARRI and RED that have a 4:3 aspect ratio option. The test was initially meant to take place in the great outdoors however the weather was miserable with lots of rain so I was confined indoors so I decided to make the most of what I had… I turned my dinning room in a film set. This particular test was to see how workable the lens is in terms of 1. Focussing 2. Sharpness 3. Flare Focusing with the adapter was super easy compared to my ISCO. The focus assist on the BMPC4K really helped too! 1.33x stretch meant the image wasn’t stretched beyond recognition so I could still judge focus on the monitor without a special EVF or field monitor. Sharpness. The adapter is really sharp. You are advised to shoot at f2.8 and higher and that’s the aperture at which I shot this and then crushed the blacks in post. Flare. This was my initial concern but the flare does look nice and exactly what I would have wanted. I wasn’t a fan of the flare from my ISCO, it wasn’t sharp and precise, whereas the Anamorphot really is. My next test will the outdoors where I can get good depth in my shot so I can judge the bokeh! Camera: Black Magic Production Camera 4K (400 ASA) Lens: Samyang 35mm T1.5 + SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x - 50 Lit with 1 Arri 650W (key from outside window) and a practical (red table lamp) Graded in Davinci Resolve (OSIRIS LUT) + Filmconvert Sound: Composed by myself using some foley and extracts from Neumann Films Horror Movie Music toolbar.

There are arguments for and against both of them and most of it depends on who you are and what you like because all digital cameras take great quality images. I like the compact nature of bridge cameras (and compact cameras for that matter) but personally I find them complicated compared to a DSLR. But that's me! In this video I'm going to have a go with a Canon G10 lent to me by a friend and see how I get on with it compared to my old Nikon D300 DSLR. And don't forget - I'm not into 'tech' - I just want to see how easy it is to get the photo I see in my head out through my arms and into the camera. Mike Browne

Noktor / SLR Magic Hyperprime 12mm f/1.6 The Daylight tests I've just received this afternoon from SLR MAgic their new wide and fast angle, a 12mm f/1.6 (24mm in 24X36 eq.) in a Micro Four Third mount. This is, to my opinion, an incredible lens, fast and wide, and there is no visible distortion. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It is all made in metal. XXX There is in my test a small vignetting in the outside shots due to the use of a 62mm L.C.W variable ND filter (with a 58mm/62mm step up ring). To avoid the vignetting you'll need a 67mm or a 72mm filter with the right step up ring, because remeber this is a wide lens ! I'll try with this combination later XXX -The lens has 12 aperture blade...

BMPC4K + SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x (Flare test)
The anamorphic look is something I highly covet! Personally, flares aren’t really my thing, it’s more the stretched oval-shaped bokeh and the wide field of view that fascinates me. I bought an ISCO (2X squeeze) a few months ago but found the de-squeeze a little ridiculous on a 16:9 sensor; extremely narrow at 1920x540. I’ve heard there are some workarounds to get a better aspect ratio but it’s not only that, it’s the fact that I rarely have something to monitor anamorphic footage on - it’s hard to monitor and hard to focus hence why I decided to get the SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x. The 1.33x stretch isn’t the sexiest squeeze when it comes to the anamorphic look. The oval bokeh isn’t as pronounced as the 1.5x and the 2x so people have found it somewhat pointless. What should you look for when buying digital slr cameras and photographic equipment. All major manufacturers make great quality cameras and they all take beautiful pictures - it's a matter of choosing the digital SLR camera that works best for YOU.
All cameras take great images these days and i don't subscribe to one make being 'better' than the next. If you're serious about photography I suggest names like canon or Nikon because of the vast range of lenses and accessories available.
However all the major brands make fantastic DSLR cameras which work equally well for all subjects. When buying one it's more important to find one that fits in your hand and is easy to get at the controls.
When you've bought your shiny new DSLR camera the next step it to learn how to take great images. The camera can't do this for you just as a flashy expensive car can't drive for you! The Daylight tests
I've just received this afternoon from SLR MAgic their new wide and fast angle, a 12mm f/1.6 (24mm in 24X36 eq.) in a Micro Four Third mount.
This is, to my opinion, an incredible lens, fast and wide, and there is no visible distortion. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It is all made in metal.
XXX There is in my test a small vignetting in the outside shots due to the use of a 62mm L.C.W variable ND filter (with a 58mm/62mm step up ring). To avoid the vignetting you'll need a 67mm or a 72mm filter with the right step up ring, because remeber this is a wide lens ! I'll try with this combination later XXX
-The lens has 12 aperture blades like cinema lens.
-The 1.6 is a T stop aperture, eq. to f/1.4 aperture ! ( http://www.thephoblographer.com/tag/noktor/ )
-No visible distortion and optical correction instead of digital so people look normal at edge of photo.
-No vignette (you'll need a step up ring for filters...)
-When macro the lens is 3cm from object only !!!!
The 12mm lens is a whole different lens than the Magic Toy 11mm. it is a lot better but at the same time it is not the same price. it is $500 US. it is very creative but has good performance as well. Macro ability is amazing on this lens.

In EU and US the lens will be SLR Magic HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with a SLR Magic black ring. (TBA. around End November or December)
In other parts of the world it will be the Noktor HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with the Noktor green ring -the one I'm using for this test (available in October)
From Andrew from SLR Magic : "It had been a big challenge designing this lens and living up to the Noktor Ultra Fast Lens name. F1.6 is the largest aperture we can get this UWA lens to go. It works great indoors but flares when there is strong light. When you stop down to f2 there are no more problems. It was a debate for us if this was a good decision or not. Making this lens F1.6 with some flaws or make it F2 or F4 with no flaws wide open but smaller aperture."

The anamorphic look is something I highly covet! Personally, flares aren’t really my thing, it’s more the stretched oval-shaped bokeh and the wide field of view that fascinates me. I bought an ISCO (2X squeeze) a few months ago but found the de-squeeze a little ridiculous on a 16:9 sensor; extremely narrow at 1920x540. I’ve heard there are some workarounds to get a better aspect ratio but it’s not only that, it’s the fact that I rarely have something to monitor anamorphic footage on - it’s hard to monitor and hard to focus hence why I decided to get the SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x.
The 1.33x stretch isn’t the sexiest squeeze when it comes to the anamorphic look. The oval bokeh isn’t as pronounced as the 1.5x and the 2x so people have found it somewhat pointless. I agree, well sort of. The 1.33x works really well with a 16:9 sensor (most digital cameras are) except the likes of ARRI and RED that have a 4:3 aspect ratio option.
The test was initially meant to take place in the great outdoors however the weather was miserable with lots of rain so I was confined indoors so I decided to make the most of what I had… I turned my dinning room in a film set.
This particular test was to see how workable the lens is in terms of
1. Focussing
2. Sharpness
3. Flare
Focusing with the adapter was super easy compared to my ISCO. The focus assist on the BMPC4K really helped too! 1.33x stretch meant the image wasn’t stretched beyond recognition so I could still judge focus on the monitor without a special EVF or field monitor.
Sharpness. The adapter is really sharp. You are advised to shoot at f2.8 and higher and that’s the aperture at which I shot this and then crushed the blacks in post.
Flare. This was my initial concern but the flare does look nice and exactly what I would have wanted. I wasn’t a fan of the flare from my ISCO, it wasn’t sharp and precise, whereas the Anamorphot really is.
My next test will the outdoors where I can get good depth in my shot so I can judge the bokeh!
Camera: Black Magic Production Camera 4K (400 ASA)
Lens: Samyang 35mm T1.5 + SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x - 50
Lit with 1 Arri 650W (key from outside window) and a practical (red table lamp)
Graded in Davinci Resolve (OSIRIS LUT) + Filmconvert
Sound: Composed by myself using some foley and extracts from Neumann Films Horror Movie Music toolbar.

The NIGHT tests
I've receivedyesterday from SLR MAgic their new wide and fast angle, a 12mm f/1.6 (24mm in 24X36 eq.) in a Micro Four Third mount.
This is, to my opinion, an incredible lens, fast and wide, and there is no visible distortion. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It is all made in metal.
-The lens has 12 aperture blades like cinema lens.
-The 1.6 is a T stop aperture, eq. to f/1.4 aperture ! ( http://www.thephoblographer.com/tag/noktor/ )
-No visible distortion and optical correction instead of digital so people look normal at edge of photo.
-No vignette (you'll need a step up ring for filters...)
-When macro the lens is 3cm from object only !!!!
The 12mm lens is a whole different lens than the Magic Toy 11mm. it is a lot better but at the same time it is not the same price. it is $500 US. it is very creative but has good performance as well. Macro ability is amazing on this lens.

From Andrew from SLR Magic : "It had been a big challenge designing this lens and living up to the Noktor Ultra Fast Lens name. F1.6 is the largest aperture we can get this UWA lens to go. It works great indoors but flares when there is strong light. When you stop down to f2 there are no more problems. It was a debate for us if this was a good decision or not. Making this lens F1.6 with some flaws or make it F2 or F4 with no flaws wide open but smaller aperture."

All cameras take great images these days and i don't subscribe to one make being 'better' than the next. Bridge Camera or Digital SLR?
Should you buy a Bridge Camera or a Digital SLR? Is changing from a bridge camera to a DSLR an upgrade - or are they just different? There are arguments for and against both of them and most of it depends on who you are and what you like because all digital cameras take great quality images. I like the compact nature of bridge cameras (and compact cameras for that matter) but personally I find them complicated compared to a DSLR. But that's me! In this video I'm going to have a go with a Canon G10 lent to me by a friend and see how I get on with it compared to my old Nikon D300 DSLR. And don't forget - I'm not into 'tech' - I just want to see how easy it is to get the photo I see in my head out through my arms and into the camera. Mike Browne

This is, to my opinion, an incredible lens, fast and wide, and there is no visible distortion. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It is all made in metal. XXX There is in my test a small vignetting in the outside shots due to the use of a 62mm L.C.W variable ND filter (with a 58mm/62mm step up ring). To avoid the vignetting you'll need a 67mm or a 72mm filter with the right step up ring, because remeber this is a wide lens ! BMPC4K + SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x (Flare test)
The anamorphic look is something I highly covet! Personally, flares aren’t really my thing, it’s more the stretched oval-shaped bokeh and the wide field of view that fascinates me. I bought an ISCO (2X squeeze) a few months ago but found the de-squeeze a little ridiculous on a 16:9 sensor; extremely narrow at 1920x540. I’ve heard there are some workarounds to get a better aspect ratio but it’s not only that, it’s the fact that I rarely have something to monitor anamorphic footage on - it’s hard to monitor and hard to focus hence why I decided to get the SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x. The 1.33x stretch isn’t the sexiest squeeze when it comes to the anamorphic look. The oval bokeh isn’t as pronounced as the 1.5x and the 2x so people have found it somewhat pointless. The Daylight tests
I've just received this afternoon from SLR MAgic their new wide and fast angle, a 12mm f/1.6 (24mm in 24X36 eq.) in a Micro Four Third mount.
This is, to my opinion, an incredible lens, fast and wide, and there is no visible distortion. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It is all made in metal.
XXX There is in my test a small vignetting in the outside shots due to the use of a 62mm L.C.W variable ND filter (with a 58mm/62mm step up ring). To avoid the vignetting you'll need a 67mm or a 72mm filter with the right step up ring, because remeber this is a wide lens ! I'll try with this combination later XXX
-The lens has 12 aperture blades like cinema lens.
-The 1.6 is a T stop aperture, eq. to f/1.4 aperture ! ( http://www.thephoblographer.com/tag/noktor/ )
-No visible distortion and optical correction instead of digital so people look normal at edge of photo.
-No vignette (you'll need a step up ring for filters...)
-When macro the lens is 3cm from object only !!!!
The 12mm lens is a whole different lens than the Magic Toy 11mm. it is a lot better but at the same time it is not the same price. it is $500 US. it is very creative but has good performance as well. Macro ability is amazing on this lens.

In EU and US the lens will be SLR Magic HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with a SLR Magic black ring. (TBA. around End November or December)
In other parts of the world it will be the Noktor HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with the Noktor green ring -the one I'm using for this test (available in October)
From Andrew from SLR Magic : "It had been a big challenge designing this lens and living up to the Noktor Ultra Fast Lens name. F1.6 is the largest aperture we can get this UWA lens to go. It works great indoors but flares when there is strong light. When you stop down to f2 there are no more problems. It was a debate for us if this was a good decision or not. Making this lens F1.6 with some flaws or make it F2 or F4 with no flaws wide open but smaller aperture."

The anamorphic look is something I highly covet! Personally, flares aren’t really my thing, it’s more the stretched oval-shaped bokeh and the wide field of view that fascinates me. I bought an ISCO (2X squeeze) a few months ago but found the de-squeeze a little ridiculous on a 16:9 sensor; extremely narrow at 1920x540. I’ve heard there are some workarounds to get a better aspect ratio but it’s not only that, it’s the fact that I rarely have something to monitor anamorphic footage on - it’s hard to monitor and hard to focus hence why I decided to get the SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x.
The 1.33x stretch isn’t the sexiest squeeze when it comes to the anamorphic look. The oval bokeh isn’t as pronounced as the 1.5x and the 2x so people have found it somewhat pointless. I agree, well sort of. The 1.33x works really well with a 16:9 sensor (most digital cameras are) except the likes of ARRI and RED that have a 4:3 aspect ratio option.
The test was initially meant to take place in the great outdoors however the weather was miserable with lots of rain so I was confined indoors so I decided to make the most of what I had… I turned my dinning room in a film set.
This particular test was to see how workable the lens is in terms of
1. Focussing
2. Sharpness
3. Flare
Focusing with the adapter was super easy compared to my ISCO. The focus assist on the BMPC4K really helped too! 1.33x stretch meant the image wasn’t stretched beyond recognition so I could still judge focus on the monitor without a special EVF or field monitor.
Sharpness. The adapter is really sharp. You are advised to shoot at f2.8 and higher and that’s the aperture at which I shot this and then crushed the blacks in post.
Flare. This was my initial concern but the flare does look nice and exactly what I would have wanted. I wasn’t a fan of the flare from my ISCO, it wasn’t sharp and precise, whereas the Anamorphot really is.
My next test will the outdoors where I can get good depth in my shot so I can judge the bokeh!
Camera: Black Magic Production Camera 4K (400 ASA)
Lens: Samyang 35mm T1.5 + SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x - 50
Lit with 1 Arri 650W (key from outside window) and a practical (red table lamp)
Graded in Davinci Resolve (OSIRIS LUT) + Filmconvert
Sound: Composed by myself using some foley and extracts from Neumann Films Horror Movie Music toolbar.

The NIGHT tests
I've receivedyesterday from SLR MAgic their new wide and fast angle, a 12mm f/1.6 (24mm in 24X36 eq.) in a Micro Four Third mount.
This is, to my opinion, an incredible lens, fast and wide, and there is no visible distortion. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It is all made in metal.
-The lens has 12 aperture blades like cinema lens.
-The 1.6 is a T stop aperture, eq. to f/1.4 aperture ! ( http://www.thephoblographer.com/tag/noktor/ )
-No visible distortion and optical correction instead of digital so people look normal at edge of photo.
-No vignette (you'll need a step up ring for filters...)
-When macro the lens is 3cm from object only !!!!
The 12mm lens is a whole different lens than the Magic Toy 11mm. it is a lot better but at the same time it is not the same price. it is $500 US. it is very creative but has good performance as well. Macro ability is amazing on this lens.

- Front filter thread 58mm
- Weight is 325 grams
In EU and US the lens will be SLR Magic HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with a SLR Magic black ring. (TBA. around End November or December)
In other parts of the world it will be the Noktor HyperPrime 12mm F1.6 with the Noktor green ring -the one I'm using for this test (available in October)
From Andrew from SLR Magic : "It had been a big challenge designing this lens and living up to the Noktor Ultra Fast Lens name. F1.6 is the largest aperture we can get this UWA lens to go. It works great indoors but flares when there is strong light. When you stop down to f2 there are no more problems. It was a debate for us if this was a good decision or not. Making this lens F1.6 with some flaws or make it F2 or F4 with no flaws wide open but smaller aperture."

David Ortiz Retirement Celebration
Second half of the David Ortiz Retirement ceremony, prior to David's final regular season game at Fenway Park, 10/2/16. This is from the moment his teammates from the 2004, 2007, and 2013 World Championship teams came out from center field, through to the very end. Hopefully it looks and sounds OK. Probably a bit shaky.... I was trying to also get stills of what was going on on the field with a digital SLR, so at certain points my cell phone camera would dip when I looked away to use the viewfinder of that camera.... sorry about that. The excitement of the moment, I guess. Not too many dry eyes in the house. :) Big Papi will be missed!!

Karim expressed his acting skill developed through his early work in the school theater. In 1986 Karim joined the theater troupe "Nattokendro" and worked for 15 years.[1] After over a decade in theater, Karim emerged on the small screen in 1999, with the single-episode TV play Atithi, directed by Ferdous Hasan and aired on Channel I.
2004 he played two important roles in two different TV works. One of those roles included the popular telefilm Kyarom, where he performed with co-artist Nusrat Imroz Tisha. In 2009, he acted in his first film Third Person Singular Number, with co-artist Tisha. He acted in his first Drama serial 420 aired on Channel I. After this, he worked in the two drama serials, Vober Hat and Ghor Kutum. Karim also acted with Bengali film Daruchini Dip directed by Toukir Ahmed.
