An effective date or as of date is the date upon which something is considered to take effect. This may be different from the date upon which the event actually occurs or is recorded.
In Reserve Fund Planning, an effective date refers to the fiscal-year's first day where changes, voted on at a condo or strata corporation Annual General Meeting (AGM), take effect regardless of whether the vote took place before or after the beginning of the fiscal-year. This effective date is when recommendations take place.

Ahem. A little playful activity during a shoot. Most of the videos of her I have uploaded were of the goofy/fun variety. This one is a little different. Many more miles of footage from this girl will be coming soon. Music is by me as well, though I had to add a few bars more than I wanted to make it fit the video length. Oh well.
Chris Dean’s heart stopped when he was two. He died but he came back. When Chris was five, his father was murdered, riddled by more than 20 bullets in a gang shootout. At age 18, Chris gained national attention when he introduced President Barack Obama at his high school graduation. Chris is an observer and philosopher who has always had a few things to say about life from his vantage point in South Memphis. He and Emmy-Award winning filmmaker Alan Spearman walked the neighborhood for eight weeks observing and recording what became the script of As I Am. This film floats through this remarkable young man's landscape, revealing the lives that have shaped his world. Poetic and powerful imagery, captured by Spearman and cinematographer Mark Adams, combines with the young philosopher’s trencha...
The 12 basic principles of animation were developed by the 'old men' of Walt Disney Studios, amongst them Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, during the 1930s. Of course they weren't old men at the time, but young men who were at the forefront of exciting discoveries that were contributing to the development of a new art form. These principles came as a result of reflection about their practice and through Disney's desire to use animation to express character and personality. This movie is my personal take on those principles, applied to simple shapes. Like a cube. Check also the animated gif gallery here http://the12principles.tumblr.com/.
Timelapse videos depicting the stars from low earth orbit, as viewed from the International Space Station. Images edited using Adobe Lightroom with some cropping to make the stars the focal point of each shot, and with manipulation of the contrast to bring out the stars a bit more. The video plays best if you let it load a bit first. Music: "Truck out There" by London PM. I am a destination visual artist who specializes in photography, timelapse cinematography, & filmmaking. I love to travel, so if you have a project in some far flung location, lets talk. Yosemite National Park, the High Sierra, and the Eastern Sierra are some of the most beautiful places on earth. Ever since I serendipitously won a trip to Yosemite when I was 18, the beautiful Range of Light has captured my heart and become my home. Nothing brings me more joy than to share this life changing beauty with others. Ever since I became fascinated with timelapse photography almost 2 years ago, after seeing the work of Tom Lowe, I’ve wanted to do a piece on Yosemite and the Sierra. Now after almost 2 years of shooting, I'm thrilled to share. I hope you enjoy my vision of my home, the maje...

In January 2014 Kathryn Schulz published an article in Vulture called "The Five Best Punctuation Marks in Literature." Link: http://www.vulture.com/2014/01/best-punctuation-marks-literature-nabokov-eliot-dickens-levi.html It got me thinking about what the five best "punctuation marks" in film might look like. I wanted to assemble a video essay with a rapidfire list of nominees of great moments of editing-as-punctuation in film. But as I started putting it together, the project grew into a twofold piece: an analysis of and response to Schulz's article as well as an attempt to spur new insights about editing by examining it through the metaphor of punctuation. So, here it is: 20 minutes long, clips from 100 films (101 if you count that Woody Allen quotes Duck Soup in Hannah and her Siste...
It was more than a matter of knowin'
Or the words that were finally said
It was more than the comin' or goin'
Or the things that were made in your head
It was more than a matter of wantin'
And needin' the foolish things I gave
As if I ever cared to make you cry
Could've been right to know that it wasn't
Yet you knew I was sorry
I dared to make you cry
As if I would
As if I could
As if I tried
But the words that were finally spoken
Like the thoughts that remain in my soul
And hearts that were finally broken
And embrace that never be hold
And the words that I never told you
But I told you, the foolish things I said
As if I ever cared to make you cry
I could've been right to know that I wasn't
Yet you knew that I was sorry
I dared to make you cry
As if I would
As if I could
As if I tried
As if I ever cared to make you cry
I could've been right to know that I wasn't
Yet you knew that I was sorry
I dared to make you cry
Could have been strong but the words didn't rhyme
