Not to be confused with Dongdaemun, the old east gate of Seoul
Taedong Gate is the eastern gate of the inner castle of the walled city of Pyongyang (Pyongyang Castle), and one of the National Treasures of North Korea. Located on the banks of the Taedong River, from which it gets its name, the gate was originally built in the sixth century as an official Koguryo construction, and, along with the Ryongwang Pavilion and Pyongyang Bell, served as the center of the inner castle's eastern defenses. The present construction dates from 1635, however, as the original was burnt to the ground during the Imjin wars of the late 16th century.
The current gate features a granite base topped by a two-story pavilion, called the Euphoru Pavilion (읍호루, 挹灝樓), because of its grand views of the Taedong River. This pavilion houses two hanging name plaques, one, on the first storey, reading "Taedong Gate" and calligraphed Yang Sa-on, and the other, reading "Upho Pavilion", on the second storey and written by Pak Wi (박위, 朴葳, ?∼1398).
Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to the public. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators. An easy-to-understand one-page explanation of rights, with associated visual symbols, explains the specifics of each Creative Commons license. Creative Commons licenses do not replace copyright, but are based upon it. They replace individual negotiations for specific rights between copyright owner (licensor) and licensee, which are necessary under an "all rights reserved" copyright management, with a "some rights reserved" management employing standardized licenses for re-use cases where no commercial compensation is sought by the copyright owner. The result is an agile, low-overhead and low-cost copyright-management regime, profiting both copyright owners and licensees. Wikipedia uses one of these licenses.

North Korea ( listen), officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK; Chosŏn'gŭl: 조선민주주의인민공화국; hancha: 朝鮮民主主義人民共和國; MR: Chosŏn Minjujuŭi Inmin Konghwaguk), is a country in East Asia, in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. The name Korea is derived from the Kingdom of Goguryeo, also spelled as Koryŏ. The capital and largest city is Pyongyang. North Korea shares a land border with China to the north and northwest, along the Amnok (Yalu) and Tumen rivers, and a small section of the Tumen River also forms a border with Russia to the northeast. The Korean Demilitarized Zone marks the boundary between North Korea and South Korea.
Korea was annexed by the Empire of Japan in 1910. After the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II in 1945, Korea was divided into two zones by the United States and the Soviet Union, with the north occupied by the Soviets and the south by the Americans. Negotiations on reunification failed, and in 1948 two separate governments were formed: the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the north, and the Republic of Korea in the south. An invasion initiated by North Korea led to the Korean War (1950–53). Although the Korean Armistice Agreement brought about a ceasefire, no official peace treaty was ever signed. Both states were accepted into the United Nations in 1991.
Central Television may refer to:
Korean Central Television (KCTV; Chosŏn'gŭl: 조선중앙텔레비죤; MR: Chosŏn Chungang T'ellebijyon; RR: Joseon Jungang Tellebijyon) is a television service operated by Korean Central Broadcasting Committee, a state-owned broadcaster in North Korea. KCTV is the only official source of television news for North Koreans.
KCTV was established on 1 September 1953 as Pyongyang Broadcasting Network after the Korean War ended. Kim Il-sung personally envisioned that the time was ripe for television broadcasting in the DPRK, but this was not yet to happen. Thus, the PBN began an 8-year period of preparation for commencement of television broadcasts, with the help of the national government.
PBN was renamed as Central Broadcasting Television System in 1961, and conducted on 1 September the same year its first test broadcasts.
CBTS officially began operations on 3 March 1963 at 19:00 (7:00 pm) KST based in Pyongyang, broadcasting 2-hours between 19:00 (7:00 pm) until 21:00 (9:00 pm) KST on weekdays only, and then expanding to 4 and later 6 hours.

"Let's be proud sons and daughters of respected father Kim Jong Il" says the sign at the entrance. Thanks to hyunchoi98 for the translation. We visited an elementary school in Pyongyang. The school was closed for summer, but they called in a teacher to guide us, and children to perform. The guide we got was a teacher in mathematic and revolutionary history. Chongryu Restaurant Facelifted Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- Lots of working people are calling at the Chongryu Restaurant which has been spruced up to suit the requirement of the Songun era. Spread in the octangular front-gate hall of the restaurant is a "jewel carpet" which delineates the lily of the valley with precious color stones. And its large-sized chandelier reminds one of bursting fireworks. The front wall of the main entrance hall is clad with mirror and its ceiling is decorated delicately, which add gracefulness to the restaurant. The large dining hall adjacent to the main entrance hall can house hundreds of customers at a time. Reflected on the front wall of the dining hall is a gigantic mural painting describing the Lagoon Samil at the foot of Mt. Kumga...

According to this index, China ranks number one in happiness. North Korea, a close second. Rounding out the top five—Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran. But bad news for our viewers here in the US—or, as the index calls it—the "American Empire," we rank dead last. The list has become wildly popular on the Chinese internet. It's unclear what criteria were used to rank the countries.

As the sun sets beyond the pyramids
To greet me with its rays
I place my hand on my forehead
To see your chariots' flames
Watch me kneel before you
Hear the cats meowing in the temple
They yearn the milk you cascaded
As I yearn that promised treasure
Treasure of
Tutankhamen
I am the one it is
Take me with you
through the stargate
To the valley of the kings
Sacrifice me
Tutankhamen
And let me be your queen
Take me
Tonight and always
We´ll breed to fill all earth
Three milleniums it took me to guard your rest
Your slumber in mighty Phoenix´s nest
But tonight the darkness in the tomb has perished
For Carter has come to free my beloved
