Steamboy is a 2004 Japanese steampunk animated action film produced by Sunrise, directed and co-written by Katsuhiro Otomo, his second major anime release, following Akira. The film was released in Japan on July 17, 2004. Steamboy is one of the most expensive Japanese animated movies made to date. Additionally, the film was in production for ten years and utilized more than 180,000 drawings and 440 CG cuts.
Steamboy was the 2004 recipient of Best Animated Feature Film at the Catalonian International Film Festival. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
Stephen Hunter of The Washington Post states, "The movie never transcended its elaborate production work to achieve an independent reality. It's simply pictures of what could have happened."
Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes gave Steamboy a rating of 60% based on 89 reviews, with the site's consensus "The story isn't the greatest, but there's an abundance of sci-fi eye candy to compensate."
The film was not a box office success in the United States.
According to the reviewer KJB at IGN.com, this could be due to the marketing methods used in the United States. Steamboy could have had a larger Western audience, but due to the limited release, that was not able to happen. "Steamboy is one of those few anime films that would be able to play to a wide audience in the United States. Instead, the film is getting a limited release through Sony's smaller label, skipping some cities entirely and only playing in smaller art houses in many of the cities that are getting the film."

今年の8月に沖縄修行が終わり、港北NTに帰ってきた新里 孝明くんが沖縄で過ごした1年間で撮影したFootageでまとめました。出てくるスポットは、まさに沖縄というようなメジャーなスポットではなく、彼が沖縄で過ごす間に、自らの足と千里眼で見出した、重箱の隅を突くようなSPOTばかりです。中にはSPOTと呼ぶには厳しい、かなり過酷な条件の、俗に言う「かつおSPOT」が多数登場してきます。ですが、そんな「かつおSPOT」でさえ実験の対象として捉え、成功させてしまう彼のスキルとセンス、またそれに合わせてスタイルを入れてくる辺りはお見事の一言ですね。

Demons, aka Pandemonium (修羅 Shura?) is a 1971 Japanese samurai jidaigeki / horror film directed by Toshio Matsumoto. Referring to asuras, the movie is based on Tsuruya Nanboku and Shuji Ishizawas play Kamikakete Sango Taisetsu, and reflects the directors experimental filming background and theatrical influence. It was released on 13 February 1971 in Japan by the Art Theatre Guild and Matsumoto Productions Company, almost two years after the directors first feature-length attempt, Funeral Parade of Roses.
The film is a portrait of feudal Japans society and culture. Related to older samurai genre films and the classic tale of the forty-seven ronin, it begins with a colorful setting sun, but the rest of the film is shot in black and white.
The main character Gengobe (Katsuo Nakamura), an exile masterless samurai (Ronin), is facing a moral dilemma: either help a courtesan he loves, or join his clan in a campaign of honor. When the geisha and her husband rob him of his reinstatement money, Gengobes guilt drives him to paths of distraction. As the story develops, secrets are revealed but the dark fate that portends is not avoided.

Plot:
Iron is indispensable in the Warring States period. Deep in the mountains of Izumo, there is a village called TATARA. There, the villagers make a unique kind of steel and the swords made from this kind of steel do not become rusty in a thousand years.
One day, the bandits attack the village to rob the steel. Amid the horrible scene, a boy is scared stiff and stands still.
The lead character of the story is Gosuke, the eldest son of the Murage Family who is the only person in the village to inherit the steel making method called "TATARA".
As the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke is fated to guard the steel making method "Tatara-buki" inherited from his ancestors.
As time goes by, Gosuke grows into an outstanding young man.
He concentrates on martial arts training with his childhood friend Shinpei.
To guard the village, they have to become stronger through martial arts training, so they never stop practicing.
However, as the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke's major task is to improve the steel making method "Tatara-buki" and reach the peak of perfection.
His father never blames him, but shows him the steel making method, trying to influence him by deeds. One day, a merchant who is interested in the secret skill visits "TATARA" village.
The merchant makes use of Gosuke's idea of protecting the village. He deludes Gosuke and the young men in the village into believing his deceiving words, in an attempt to keep the secret skill under his possession.
Gosuke decides to leave the village to become a samurai.
Will he be able to protect the village after he improves his martial arts? With resistance of his fate, confusion and struggle, what kind of a path will Gosuke follow?
A war is going to engulf Gosuke and "TATARA" village...

KAONKA skateboards Takaaki Shinzato KATSUO SPOT HITTER In Okinawa

The film was released in Japan on July 17, 2004. Steamboy is one of the most expensive Japanese animated movies made to date. Additionally, the film was in production for ten years and utilized more than 180,000 drawings and 440 CG cuts.
Steamboy was the 2004 recipient of Best Animated Feature Film at the Catalonian International Film Festival. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
Stephen Hunter of The Washington Post states, "The movie never transcended its elaborate production work to achieve an independent reality. It's simply pictures of what could have happened."
Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes gave Steamboy a rating of 60% based on 89 reviews, with the site's consensus "The story isn't the greatest, but there's an abundance of sci-fi eye candy to compensate."
The film was not a box office success in the United States.

Plot:
Iron is indispensable in the Warring States period. Deep in the mountains of Izumo, there is a village called TATARA. There, the villagers make a unique kind of steel and the swords made from this kind of steel do not become rusty in a thousand years.

The lead character of the story is Gosuke, the eldest son of the Murage Family who is the only person in the village to inherit the steel making method called "TATARA".
As the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke is fated to guard the steel making method "Tatara-buki" inherited from his ancestors.
As time goes by, Gosuke grows into an outstanding young man.
He concentrates on martial arts training with his childhood friend Shinpei.
To guard the village, they have to become stronger through martial arts training, so they never stop practicing.
However, as the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke's major task is to improve the steel making method "Tatara-buki" and reach the peak of perfection.
His father never blames him, but shows him the steel making method, trying to influence him by deeds. One day, a merchant who is interested in the secret skill visits "TATARA" village.
The merchant makes use of Gosuke's idea of protecting the village. He deludes Gosuke and the young men in the village into believing his deceiving words, in an attempt to keep the secret skill under his possession.
Gosuke decides to leave the village to become a samurai.
Will he be able to protect the village after he improves his martial arts? With resistance of his fate, confusion and struggle, what kind of a path will Gosuke follow?
A war is going to engulf Gosuke and "TATARA" village...

Plot:
Iron is indispensable in the Warring States period. Deep in the mountains of Izumo, there is a village called TATARA. There, the villagers make a unique kind of steel and the swords made from this kind of steel do not become rusty in a thousand years.
One day, the bandits attack the village to rob the steel. Amid the horrible scene, a boy is scared stiff and stands still.
The lead character of the story is Gosuke, the eldest son of the Murage Family who is the only person in the village to inherit the steel making method called "TATARA".
As the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke is fated to guard the steel making method "Tatara-buki" inherited from his ancestors.
As time goes by, Gosuke grows into an outstanding young man.
He concentrates on martial arts training with his childhood friend Shinpei.
To guard the village, they have to become stronger through martial arts training, so they never stop practicing.
However, as the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke's major task is to improve the steel making method "Tatara-buki" and reach the peak of perfection.
His father never blames him, but shows him the steel making method, trying to influence him by deeds. One day, a merchant who is interested in the secret skill visits "TATARA" village.
The merchant makes use of Gosuke's idea of protecting the village. He deludes Gosuke and the young men in the village into believing his deceiving words, in an attempt to keep the secret skill under his possession.
Gosuke decides to leave the village to become a samurai.
Will he be able to protect the village after he improves his martial arts? With resistance of his fate, confusion and struggle, what kind of a path will Gosuke follow?
A war is going to engulf Gosuke and "TATARA" village...

Iron is indispensable in the Warring States period. Deep in the mountains of Izumo, there is a village called TATARA. There, the villagers make a unique kind of steel and the swords made from this kind of steel do not become rusty in a thousand years.
One day, the bandits attack the village to rob the steel. Amid the horrible scene, a boy is scared stiff and stands still.
The lead character of the story is Gosuke, the eldest son of the Murage Family who is the only person in the village to inherit the steel making method called "TATARA".
As the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke is fated to guard the steel making method "Tatara-buki" inherited from his ancestors.
As time goes by, Gosuke grows into an outstanding young man.
He concentrates on martial arts training with his childhood friend Shinpei.
To guard the village, they have to become stronger through martial arts training, so they never stop practicing.
However, as the son of the Murage Family, Gosuke's major task is to improve the steel making method "Tatara-buki" and reach the peak of perfection.
His father never blames him, but shows him the steel making method, trying to influence him by deeds. One day, a merchant who is interested in the secret skill visits "TATARA" village.
The merchant makes use of Gosuke's idea of protecting the village. He deludes Gosuke and the young men in the village into believing his deceiving words, in an attempt to keep the secret skill under his possession.
Gosuke decides to leave the village to become a samurai.
Will he be able to protect the village after he improves his martial arts? With resistance of his fate, confusion and struggle, what kind of a path will Gosuke follow?
A war is going to engulf Gosuke and "TATARA" village...

Adapted from traditional Japanese ghost stories, each of the four narratives finds its protagonist confronted by spirits. They compel him to either make amends for past mistakes, maintain vows of silence, satisfy the needs of the undead or capture phantoms that remain elusive.
