The Observer is a British newspaper, published on Sundays. In the same place on the political spectrum as its daily sister papers The Guardian and The Guardian Weekly, whose parent company Guardian Media Group Limited acquired it in 1993, it takes a social liberal or social democratic line on most issues. First published in 1791, it is the world's oldest Sunday newspaper.
The first issue, published on 4 December 1791 by W.S. Bourne, was the world's first Sunday newspaper. Believing that the paper would be a means of wealth, Bourne instead soon found himself facing debts of nearly £1,600. Though early editions purported editorial independence, Bourne attempted to cut his losses and sell the title to the government. When this failed, Bourne's brother (a wealthy businessman) made an offer to the government, which also refused to buy the paper but agreed to subsidise it in return for influence over its editorial content. As a result, the paper soon took a strong line against radicals such as Thomas Paine, Francis Burdett and Joseph Priestley.
An observer is one who engages in observation or in watching an experiment.

I went to Alaska for New Year with my friend Dan; we spent a week travelling North from Anchorage by rail, 4x4 & light aircraft. I took along my A7SII for the trip. Towards the end of 2016 I desired a trip disconnected from technology & work, somewhere 'into the wild' that I could disconnect somewhat from life in London. After our Tens sunglasses (http://tens.co) campaign shoot in Mexico in December, I headed North to Vancouver and spent Christmas snowboarding. Alaska looked like the most logical stop after that for a week or so in the wilderness. The more (little) I researched and booked, I realised I should probably take a camera with me, but didn't want to be inconvenienced by all the gear I usually travel with - FS7, 16mm kit etc. So just took the basics - https://www.instagram.com/p/...

The brief given was based on the concept of capturing data in real time from a place or path in the real world. We chose to use the interval of the gps tracker as a trigger to take a picture connected to that point in space. This combination of generating the route and images together was our starting point to start iterating. We used outlines of the route to generate extrusions to the edge of the canvas and filled them with a cross section of the images. Your path is essentially translated into a palette of shapes and colors referring to the route you’ve taken. It’s an abstract interpretation of how we visualize spaces in our mind. As you are not really in control of taking pictures, the end result might be different from how you perceive your surroundings normally. It's might be closer ...

"I do not feel obliged to believe
that the same God who has endowed us
with sadness, reason and intellect
has intended us to forgo their use"
So all the stars
Will guide us on our way
The Sextant as a leader
Has duration for all days
Look at the amazing skies
In long and profund discoveries
With a strong and a clear mind he's encrypting
More secrets of astronomy
In endless nights
He entirely observes the skies
His publications will change the world
Galileo Galilei
Only what my eyes will see, I will believe!
Day and night - separated by the light
In Pisa he's required
To teach the theory
That the stars and all the planets
Revolve around the earth
But he believed
In a different truth
The heliocentric one
Proposed by Kopernikus
A new age has begun
The stolen sun
Makes their fear rise
And man will sacrifice
The moon is the reason why
Look at the amazing skies
In long and profound discoveries
With a strong and a clear mind he's encrypting
More secrets of astronomy
In endless nights
He entirely observes the skies
His publications will change the world
Galileo Galilei
And all the servants of the cross - they will deny
Will deny the starlight
In Pisa he's required
To teach the theory
That the stars and all the planets
Revolve around the earth
But he believed
In a different truth
The heliocentric one
Proposed by Kopernikus
