Take-out or takeout (in North American and Philippine English); also carry-out (in U.S. and Scotland);take-away (in the United Kingdom other than Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Ireland),parcel (in Indian English and Pakistani English), refers to prepared meals or other food items, purchased at a restaurant, that the purchaser intends to eat elsewhere. A concept found in many ancient cultures, take-out food is now common worldwide, with a number of different cuisines and dishes on offer.
The concept of prepared meals to be eaten elsewhere dates back to antiquity. Market and roadside stalls selling food were common in both Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. In Pompeii, archaeologists have found a number of thermopolia. These were service counters, opening onto the street, which provided food to be taken away and eaten elsewhere. There is a distinct lack of formal dining and kitchen area in Pompeian homes, which may suggest that eating, or at least cooking, at home was unusual. Over 200 thermopolia have been found in the ruins of Pompeii.
Carry Out is a song recorded by American rapper and producer Timbaland for his third studio album Shock Value II (2009). The song features guest vocals from longtime collaborator, American recording artist Justin Timberlake. Timbaland and Timberlake co-wrote the song with Timothy "Attitude" Clayton, Jim Beanz and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon; with Harmon co-producing the song with Timbaland. Mosley Music Group, together with Blackground and Interscope Records, serviced the song to contemporary hit radio on December 1, 2009 in the United States, as the third single from Shock Value II.
Carry Out received a mixed response from contemporary music critics, with many being divided on the song's composition and lyrical content. Carry Out's lyrics use the term 'carry out' as metaphor for sex. Most found the song to be one of the album's best tracks, but criticized the use of food-sex metaphors and deemed the song to be lacking in creativity. The song also received comparisons to The Lonely Island's 2006 single Dick in a Box, in which Timberlake was featured. "Carry Out" peaked within the top ten of the charts in Canada, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom. The song's accompanying music video, directed by Bryan Barber, features Timbaland and Timberlake surrounded by women, which they attempt to seduce while dressed in fast-food restaurant themed costumes.

Baby, you’re looking fire hot
I have you open all night like ya IHOP
I take you home baby let you keep me company
You gimme some of you, I give you some of me
You look good, baby must taste heavenly
I’m pretty sure that you got your own recipe
So pick it up, pick it up, yeah I like you
I just can’t get enough I got to drive through
Cause is me, you,
you, me,
me, you
all night
Have it your way,
foreplay
Before I feed your appetite
Let me get my ticket baby, let me get in line
I can tell the way you like, baby supersize
Hold on, you got yours, let me give mine
I ain’t leave until they turn over the close sign, check it
Take my order cause your body like a, carry out
Let me walk into your body ‘til you, hear me out
Turn me on my baby don’t you, cut me out
Turn me on my baby don’t you, cut me out
Take my order cause your body like a, carry out
Let me walk into your body ‘til it's, light’s out
Turn me on my baby don’t you, cut me out
Turn me on my baby don’t you, cut me out
Number one, I take two number three’s
That’s a whole out of you and a side of me
Now is it full myself to want you full of me
And if there’s room for dessert then I want a piece
Baby get my order right, no errors
I’mma touch you in all the right areas
I can feed you, you can feed me
Girl, deliver that to me, come see me
Cause is me, you,
you, me,
me, you
all night
Have it your way,
foreplay
Before I feed your appetite
Do you like it well done, cause I do it well
Cause I’m well seasoned if you couldn’t tell
Now let me walk into your body until you hear me out
And turn me on, my baby, don’t you cut me out,
Take my order cause your body like a, carry out
