Girls (Beastie Boys song)

"Girls" is a song by American hip hop group the Beastie Boys, released in 1987 as well as the music video as the seventh and final single from their debut album Licensed to Ill. Like "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)", this song was never performed live and it is one of the few songs on the album that are not in the vein of their standard rap songs.

Song structure and lyrics

The song is the shortest on the album, lasting just over 2 minutes long. The song's instrumental is relatively simple, consisting of a drum beat being played over a vibraphone loop, with occasional pauses. The song contains many similarities to the song "Shout" by The Isley Brothers.

Lyrically, the song talks about the narrator (Ad-Rock)'s desire for women. He recalls a experience from two years before with a woman who had an interest in the narrator's band mate MCA. MCA did not share her feelings and permitted the narrator to pursue her romantically. Ad-Rock takes the woman for a walk near a body of water and asks for her hand. The woman rejects his proposal. She moves to a far away location but in the present day the narrator sees her back in town showing interest in his other band mate, Mike D.

"Girls" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Kid Cudi, released on April 2, 2013 as the fourth single from his third studio album Indicud (2013). The song, produced by Cudi himself, features a guest appearance from fellow American rapper Too $hort. The song has since peaked at #3 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles.

Background

On April 2, 2013 Cudi released "Girls" for digital download via the iTunes Store, as the album's fourth single. The song features a verse from fellow American rapper Too Short, and was produced by Cudi. The song would later be released to Rhythm/Crossover radio on April 9, 2013. "Girls" contains an interpolation of "Pretty Girls", written by The Kids of Widney High (Carl Brown, Shelly Goodhope, Tanesa Tavin, Daniel Brattain, Veronica Mendez, Darrell Mitchell, Albert Cota, Chantel Roquemore and Michael Monagan). The song also contains a sample of "Bitches (Reply)" as performed by Dion "DJ Jimi" Norman.

Girls (Brazilian band)

Girls were a Brazilian girl group of pop music formed in 2013 through the program Fábrica de Estrelas, transmitted by the network-TV Multishow. The group is composed of Ani Monjardim, Bruna Rocha, Caroline Ferreira, Jennifer Nascimento and Natascha Piva. The group's first album, the homônio Girls, was released on September 3 by Sony Music, bringing the participation of Negra Li, Mika Borges, Aggro Santos and Suave, besides compositions of integral NX Zero, Gee Rocha and Di Ferrero. The first single, "Acenda a Luz", was released on August 8, and the disc also removed two promotional singles, "Monkey See Monkey Do" and "Shake Shake".

On January 30, 2014, it was announced the end of the group by producer Rick Bonadio amid great controversy due to own Sony Music claims not to have more interest in the work of girls, thereby precluding the continuity of the group.

Democracy is Freedom – The Daisy (Italian: Democrazia è Libertà – La Margherita, DL), commonly known simply as The Daisy (La Margherita), was a centristpolitical party in Italy. The party was formed from the merger of three parties: the Italian People's Party, The Democrats and Italian Renewal. The party president and leader was Francesco Rutelli, former mayor of Rome and prime ministerial candidate during the 2001 general election for The Olive Tree coalition, within which The Daisy electoral list won 14.5% of the national vote.

The Daisy became a single party in February 2002. It was set up by former left-leaning Christian Democrats, centrists,social-liberals (former Liberals and former Republicans), as well as other left-wing politicians from the former Italian Socialist Party and Federation of the Greens.

On 14 October 2007 DL merged with the Democrats of the Left to form the Democratic Party (PD).

History

The idea of uniting the centrist components of The Olive Tree coalitions, which were divided in many parties, was discussed at least since 1996. In the 1996 general election there were actually two centrist lists within the Italian centre-left: the Populars for Prodi, including the Italian People's Party (PPI), Democratic Union (UD), the Italian Republican Party (PRI) and the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP), and that of Italian Renewal (RI), including the Italian Socialists (SI), which later merged into the Italian Democratic Socialists (SDI) in 1998, and the Segni Pact (PS). In 1998 splinters from the centre-right coalition formed the Democratic Union for the Republic (UDR), later transformed into Union of Democrats for Europe (UDEUR), in order to support the D'Alema I Cabinet. In 1999 splinters of PPI, UD and other groups formed The Democrats (Dem).

Rudolph Moshammer

Rudolph Moshammer (27 September 1940 – 14 January 2005) was a German fashion designer. He was murdered at the age of 64 in the Grünwald suburb of Munich, Germany.

Life

Born in Munich, Germany, Moshammer had an education in retail industry trading. He began to design fashion in the 1960s.

His base of existence was his boutique "Carnaval de Venise" in Munich's high society street, Maximilianstraße. There he created fashion for wealthy men from furs, cashmere, and silk. With this strategy he attracted the high society of Munich and Germany. His international clients included:

He had inherited the boutique from his mother, Else Moshammer. He had a strong relationship with her and frequently appeared in public with her. She died in 1993.

Moshammer was an eccentric and iridescent personality. He was well known for carrying his Yorkshire Terrier dog Daisy in public wherever he went, and even wrote a book about her.

Daisy (software)

Daisy is a Java/XML open-source content management system based on the Apache Cocoon content management framework. Today, Daisy is in use at major corporations for intranet knowledge bases, product and/or project documentation, and management of content-rich websites.

Content management system

The content is stored in so-called Daisy documents. These documents are managed by the Daisy Repository Server. Documents consist of parts. Parts can be anything from required blocks of text to specified fields with restricted content. By creating specific document types, different types of information can be handled differently. Simple documents just hold text and hyperlinks. By including a query in a document it is easy to create documents that aggregate other documents.

Each document can have multiple variants. A variant can be a version or a translated document (language variant). Variants can be used to mark specific versions, e.g., all documents referring to version XYZ of the software described.
