On 6 May 1527 a leaderless mercenary army, consisting of German Landsknechts as well as Spanish and Italian mercenaries, invaded the city of Rome. No sooner had the Janiculum fallen into the hands of the looters they began advancing on the Vatican Hill. On St. Peter's Square 147 (of 189) men of the Swiss Guard stood in position to protect Pope Clement VII. In the meantime the remaining 42 Swiss escorted the Pope to the Castel Sant'Angelo (using a secret escape passageway, the Passetto di Borgo) where he finally had to capitulate after a month of siege. None of the 147 Swiss survived. Even today the Swiss Guards have their swearing-in ceremony of new recruits on 6 May, in tribute of the fallen.

Kaum war der Gianicolo in der Hand der Plünderer rückten diese auf den Vatikanischen Hügel vor. Auf dem Petersplatz gingen 147 (von insgesamt 189) Mann der Schweizergarde in Stellung, um Papst Clemens VII. zu schützen. Währenddessen hatten die übrigen 42 Schweizer den Papst durch einen geheimen Fluchtgang, den Passetto di Borgo, in die Engelsburg eskortiert, wo er nach einmonatiger Belagerung schließlich kapitulieren musste. Von den 147 Schweizern überlebte keiner. Bis heute gedenkt die Schweizergarde ihrer bei der Vereidigung (traditionell am 6. Mai) neuer Rekruten.

Bretonnian Hill Last Stand - 7,000 Beastmen invasion | Warhammer Total War. We are finally back with some more Total war warhammer on a custom map battle. This battle turned out really well so make sure to watch till the end.
Scenario:
-The beastmen have gather a great army of over 7000 units to raze brettonia to counter this the lords of brettonia have call their knights and peasants to battle.
rules:
-Do not repeat any legendary lord
-If all generals die, that team lose the battle
-units over 1000 only can be use twice

Here we are again, way outside the comfort-zone. I actually wrote most of this tune a few months back but I left it incomplete because it just didn't sound the way I wanted it to, it still doesn't. However, I thought I should do my best and at least finish it. In the end, I think the tune as a whole is rather good but the mix is where it is lacking. I will probably go back to my folky and cozy tunes for a while, I need a breather after this wave of odd tunes! I've learned that this action-y stuff isn't my cup of tea, but it sure is fun to dabble with things that doesn't come naturally to me every now and then.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it for what it is!

Last stand
A last stand is a general military situation in which a body of troops holds a defensive position in the face of overwhelming odds. The defensive force usually takes very heavy casualties or is completely destroyed, as happened at Thermopylae in 480 BC, Fall of Constantinople in 1453, or Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876.
Tactical significance
A "last stand" is a last resort tactic, and is chosen because the defending force realizes the benefits of fighting outweigh the benefits of retreat or surrender. This usually arises from strategic or moral considerations, leading defenders to conclude that their sacrifice is essential to the greater success of their campaign or cause, as happened at the end of the Battle of Thermopylae.
The situation can arise in several ways. One situation is that retreat by the defending force would lead to immediate defeat, usually due to the surrounding geography or shortage of supplies or support, as happened to the Royalist infantry on Wadborough Hill after the Battle of Naseby.

A last is a mechanical form that has a shape similar to that of a human foot. It is used by shoemakers and cordwainers in the manufacture and repair of shoes. Lasts typically come in pairs and have been made from various materials, including hardwoods, cast iron, and high-density plastics.
Production
Lasts come in many styles and sizes, depending on the exact job they are designed for. Common variations include simple one-size lasts used for repairing soles and heels, durable lasts used in modern mass production, and custom-made lasts used in the making of bespoke footwear. Though a last is made approximately in the shape of a human foot, the precise shape is tailored to the kind of footwear being made. For example, a boot last would be designed to hug the instep for a close fit. Modern last shapes are typically designed using dedicated computer-aided design software.
Historically, lasts were typically made from hardwoods and cast iron because these materials retain their shape, even when in contact with wet materials (like leather) and subjected to the mechanical stresses of stretching and shaping shoes on them. On 6 May 1527 a leaderless mercenary army, consisting of German Landsknechts as well as Spanish and Italian mercenaries, invaded the city of Rome. No sooner had the Janiculum fallen into the hands of the looters they began advancing on the Vatican Hill. On St. Peter's Square 147 (of 189) men of the Swiss Guard stood in position to protect Pope Clement VII. In the meantime the remaining 42 Swiss escorted the Pope to the Castel Sant'Angelo (using a secret escape passageway, the Passetto di Borgo) where he finally had to capitulate after a month of siege. None of the 147 Swiss survived. Even today the Swiss Guards have their swearing-in ceremony of new recruits on 6 May, in tribute of the fallen. CAUTION! On 6 May 1527 a leaderless mercenary army, consisting of German Landsknechts as well as Spanish and Italian mercenaries, invaded the city of Rome. No sooner had the Janiculum fallen into the hands of the looters they began advancing on the Vatican Hill. On St. Peter's Square 147 (of 189) men of the Swiss Guard stood in position to protect Pope Clement VII. In the meantime the remaining 42 Swiss escorted the Pope to the Castel Sant'Angelo (using a secret escape passageway, the Passetto di Borgo) where he finally had to capitulate after a month of siege. None of the 147 Swiss survived. Even today the Swiss Guards have their swearing-in ceremony of new recruits on 6 May, in tribute of the fallen.

rules:
-Do not repeat any legendary lord
-If all generals die, that team lose the battle

Here we are again, way outside the comfort-zone. I actually wrote most of this tune a few months back but I left it incomplete because it just didn't sound the way I wanted it to, it still doesn't. However, I thought I should do my best and at least finish it. In the end, I think the tune as a whole is rather good but the mix is where it is lacking. I will probably go back to my folky and cozy tunes for a while, I need a breather after this wave of odd tunes! I've learned that this action-y stuff isn't my cup of tea, but it sure is fun to dabble with things that doesn't come naturally to me every now and then.

Sabaton - The Last Stand (Lyrics English & Deutsch)
On 6 May 1527 a leaderless mercenary army, consisting of German Landsknechts as well as Spanish and Italian mercenaries, invaded the city of Rome. No sooner had the Janiculum fallen into the hands of the looters they began advancing on the Vatican Hill. On St. Peter's Square 147 (of 189) men of the Swiss Guard stood in position to protect Pope Clement VII. In the meantime the remaining 42 Swiss escorted the Pope to the Castel Sant'Angelo (using a secret escape passageway, the Passetto di Borgo) where he finally had to capitulate after a month of siege. None of the 147 Swiss survived. Even today the Swiss Guards have their swearing-in ceremony of new recruits on 6 May, in tribute of the fallen. CAUTION! I won't tolerate any racist, discriminatory or in any other form inappropriate comment...

-The beastmen have gather a great army of over 7000 units to raze brettonia to counter this the lords of brettonia have call their knights and peasants to battle.
rules:
-Do not repeat any legendary lord
-If all generals die, that team lose the battle
-units over 1000 only can be use twice
-units under 1000 can be use three times.
-max 1 artillery or cygor.

Here we are again, way outside the comfort-zone. I actually wrote most of this tune a few months back but I left it incomplete because it just didn't sound the way I wanted it to, it still doesn't. However, I thought I should do my best and at least finish it. In the end, I think the tune as a whole is rather good but the mix is where it is lacking. I will probably go back to my folky and cozy tunes for a while, I need a breather after this wave of odd tunes! I've learned that this action-y stuff isn't my cup of tea, but it sure is fun to dabble with things that doesn't come naturally to me every now and then.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it for what it is!
