9 de Julio Avenue — The widest street in the world is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The street 9 de Julio Avenue, which received its name in honor of the Independence Day of Argentina, July 9, 1816. July 9th Street is located in the capital, Buenos Aires. It covers an entire city block. Autonomous City of Buenos Aires avenue has up to seven lanes in each direction and is flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. There are two wide medians between the side streets and the main road. The total width of the street is 110 m. Such a huge road was created as a result of joining two quarters running parallel.
Avenue planned to build in 1888 with the name of Ayohuma, but these plans become a reality only in 1937. Construction of major facilities was completed in 1960. The southern connections were completed after 1980, when the downtown portion of the tollway system was completed. Clearing the right-of-way for these intersections required massive condemnations in the Constitución area. [Frist Image credit fvyague]
Line C of the Buenos Aires Metro runs for a stretch under the avenue. Line A, Line B, Line D, and Line E have stations when their course intersects the avenue. Notably, lines B, C, and D share a station underneath the Obelisk, which is the focal point of the subway system and features a retail concourse which also serves as an underpass. The respective station names are Carlos Pellegrini, Diagonal Norte, and 9 de Julio.
Crossing the avenue at street level often requires a few minutes, as all intersections have traffic lights. Under normal walking speed, it takes pedestrians normally two to three green lights to cross it. Some urban planners have submitted projects to move the central part of the avenue underground to alleviate the perceived "chasm" between the two sides of the avenue.

9 de Julio Avenue
July 9 Avenue, located in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is the widest avenue in the world. Its name honors Argentina's Independence Day, July 9, 1816.
The avenue runs roughly 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the west of the Río de la Plata waterfront, from the Retiro district in the north to Constitución station in the south. The avenue has up to seven lanes in each direction and is flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. Through the centre of the avenue runs one of the city's Metrobus (Buenos Aires) (Bus rapid transit) corridors, which stretches 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) and was inaugurated in July 2013. There are two wide medians between the side streets and the main road.
The northern end of the avenue is connected to the Arturo Illia expressway (which connects to Jorge Newbery airport and the Pan-American highway) and to Libertador avenue. The southern end is connected to the 25 de Mayo tollway (serving the west side of Greater Buenos Aires as well as Ezeiza airport) and the 9 de Julio elevated expressway which provides access to the two main southbound roads out of the city (route 1 to La Plata and route 2 to Mar del Plata).

Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires (/ˈbweɪnəs ˈɛəriːz/ or /ˈaɪrɪs/,Spanish: [ˈbwenos ˈaiɾes]) is the capital and largest city of Argentina, and the second-largest metropolitan area in South America. It is located on the western shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata, on the continent's southeastern coast. The Greater Buenos Aires conurbation, which also includes several Buenos Aires Province districts, constitutes the third-largest conurbation in Latin America, with a population of around fifteen and a half million.
The city of Buenos Aires is neither part of Buenos Aires Province nor the Province's capital; rather, it is an autonomous district. In 1880, after decades of political infighting, Buenos Aires was federalized and removed from Buenos Aires Province. The city limits were enlarged to include the towns of Belgrano and Flores; both are now neighborhoods of the city. The 1994 constitutional amendment granted the city autonomy, hence its formal name: Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires). Its citizens first elected a chief of government (i.e. mayor) in 1996; before, the mayor was directly appointed by the President of the Republic.

LAN Colombia
LAN Colombia, previously Aerovías de Integración Regional S.A. (Acronym: AIRES, lit. airs), is a Colombian airline. It is the second largest air carrier in Colombia.
The airline operates scheduled regional domestic and international services, as well as a domestic cargo service. Its main base is El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá.
On October 28, 2010, it was announced that 98% of the shares in the previous airline AIRES had been acquired by Chilean carrier LAN Airlines. On December 3, 2011, it started operations as LAN Colombia. It became an affiliate member of the Oneworld alliance on 1 October 2013.
Destinations
The airline operates 23 destinations in Colombia and to Brazil and the United States internationally. On December 19, 2008 under the 44th session of the GEPA (Group Aeronautical Project Evaluator) is authorized 224 new frequencies nationwide. Likewise, the Department of Transportation approved on March 25, 2009 at the airline's flights from Barranquilla, Bogota and Cartagena to New York and Fort Lauderdale. On July 24, 2010 indefinitely suspended its operations in Venezuela given the continuing low traffic and strained relations with that country.

9 de Julio Avenue — The widest street in the world is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The street 9 de Julio Avenue, which received its name in honor of the Independence Day of Argentina, July 9, 1816. July 9th Street is located in the capital, Buenos Aires. It covers an entire city block. Autonomous City of Buenos Aires avenue has up to seven lanes in each direction and is flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. There are two wide medians between the side streets and the main road. The total width of the street is 110 m. Such a huge road was created as a result of joining two quarters running parallel.
Avenue planned to build in 1888 with the name of Ayohuma, but these plans become a reality only in 1937. Construction of major facilities was completed in 1960. The southern connections were completed after 1980, when the downtown portion of the tollway system was completed. Clearing the right-of-way for these intersections required massive condemnations in the Constitución area. [Frist Image credit fvyague]
Line C of the Buenos Aires Metro runs for a stretch under the avenue. Line A, Line B, Line D, and Line E have stations when their course intersects the avenue. Notably, lines B, C, and D share a station underneath the Obelisk, which is the focal point of the subway system and features a retail concourse which also serves as an underpass. The respective station names are Carlos Pellegrini, Diagonal Norte, and 9 de Julio.
Crossing the avenue at street level often requires a few minutes, as all intersections have traffic lights. Under normal walking speed, it takes pedestrians normally two to three green lights to cross it. Some urban planners have submitted projects to move the central part of the avenue underground to alleviate the perceived "chasm" between the two sides of the avenue.

9 de Julio Avenue — The widest street in the world is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The street 9 de Julio Avenue, which received its name in honor of the ...
9 de Julio Avenue — The widest street in the world is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The street 9 de Julio Avenue, which received its name in honor of the Independence Day of Argentina, July 9, 1816. July 9th Street is located in the capital, Buenos Aires. It covers an entire city block. Autonomous City of Buenos Aires avenue has up to seven lanes in each direction and is flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. There are two wide medians between the side streets and the main road. The total width of the street is 110 m. Such a huge road was created as a result of joining two quarters running parallel.
Avenue planned to build in 1888 with the name of Ayohuma, but these plans become a reality only in 1937. Construction of major facilities was completed in 1960. The southern connections were completed after 1980, when the downtown portion of the tollway system was completed. Clearing the right-of-way for these intersections required massive condemnations in the Constitución area. [Frist Image credit fvyague]
Line C of the Buenos Aires Metro runs for a stretch under the avenue. Line A, Line B, Line D, and Line E have stations when their course intersects the avenue. Notably, lines B, C, and D share a station underneath the Obelisk, which is the focal point of the subway system and features a retail concourse which also serves as an underpass. The respective station names are Carlos Pellegrini, Diagonal Norte, and 9 de Julio.
Crossing the avenue at street level often requires a few minutes, as all intersections have traffic lights. Under normal walking speed, it takes pedestrians normally two to three green lights to cross it. Some urban planners have submitted projects to move the central part of the avenue underground to alleviate the perceived "chasm" between the two sides of the avenue.

9 de Julio Avenue — The widest street in the world is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The street 9 de Julio Avenue, which received its name in honor of the Independence Day of Argentina, July 9, 1816. July 9th Street is located in the capital, Buenos Aires. It covers an entire city block. Autonomous City of Buenos Aires avenue has up to seven lanes in each direction and is flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. There are two wide medians between the side streets and the main road. The total width of the street is 110 m. Such a huge road was created as a result of joining two quarters running parallel.
Avenue planned to build in 1888 with the name of Ayohuma, but these plans become a reality only in 1937. Construction of major facilities was completed in 1960. The southern connections were completed after 1980, when the downtown portion of the tollway system was completed.
