"Adia" is a song by Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan that originally appeared on her 1997 album Surfacing. It was co-written by McLachlan and her longtime producer, Pierre Marchand. On VH1 Storytellers, McLachlan also said about the song, "I'm not quite sure how to explain this one but, uh, I guess more than anything it's about my problems in dealing with feeling responsible for everyone else".
"Adia" was McLachlan's first top 5 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaked at number three. Though it only remained at the position for one week, the song did spend six consecutive weeks at number four and seven consecutive weeks at number five, totaling thirteen weeks at the top ten, "Adia" was the twentieth most successful song of 1998 in the US. The song also performed well in McLachlan's native Canada, peaking at number three for three non-consecutive weeks on RPM. It stayed in the top ten for sixteen weeks.
"Adia" was the third of four songs from Surfacing to be released as a single. It was her most successful US single, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The single, released July 7, 1998, contains four tracks: the radio mix of "Adia", the Surfacing mix of "Angel", the original studio version of "I Will Remember You" (as opposed to the live version included on the Mirrorball album, also released as a single), and a live version of "Building a Mystery". McLachlan was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards of 1999 for "Adia", losing to Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On".

Plot: Santa Claus tries to outrun a gang of knife-wielding youth. It's one of several vignettes of Palestinian life in Israel - in a neighborhood in Nazareth and at Al-Ram checkpoint in East Jerusalem. Most of the stories are droll, some absurd, one is mythic and fanciful; few words are spoken. A man who goes through his mail methodically each morning has a heart attack. His son visits him in hospital. The son regularly meets a woman at Al-Ram; they sit in a car, hands caressing. Once, she defies Israeli guards at the checkpoint; later, Ninja-like, she takes on soldiers at a target range. A red balloon floats free overhead. Neighbors toss garbage over walls. Life goes on until it doesn't.

Everything about this -- the singing, the singer, the lighting, the symmetry -- is imperfect, which is kind of the point.

Once again Una Burke, notorious for her incredible leather statue like garments, and Andreas have teamed up to create something beautiful. This most recent collection of sculptural accessories and armour like body pieces investigates the changes that occur when prosthetic limbs and medical braces are applied to a body. In the research stages of this project Úna was struck by a series images called “Beautiful Pictures”. These were developed by the disabled artist Nicola Lane in 2001 for an installation called Aesthetics of Prosthetics. Soundtrack from Pixar's The Blue Umbrella and not mine whatsoever. Everything else was created by me.
This story begins at the place and time where our contemporary world has ended. It could be considered as a moment of dark humor in a post apocalyptic state. After consumption has ended the lives that we once knew, it is at this point that we become products of abandoned spaces, recycled armor, and archived wardrobes. It is also at this point that we introduce, Mr. and Mrs. Bugg. A short narrative of such an example. Beginning in reality and ending in a dream. Adia I do believe I failed you
Adia I know I let you down
don't you know I tried so hard
to love you in my way
it's easy let it go...
Adia I'm empty since you left me
trying to find a way to carry on
I search myself and everyone
to see where we went wrong
'cause there's no one left to finger
there's no one here to blame
there's no one left to talk to honey
and there ain't no one to buy our innocence
'cause we are born innocent
believe me Adia, we are still innocent
it's easy, we all falter
does it matter?
Adia I thought that we could make it
but I know I can't change the way you feel
I leave you with your misery
a friend who won't betray
I pull you from your tower
I take away your pain
and show you all the beauty you possess
if you'd only let yourself believe that
we are born innocent
believe me Adia, we are still innocent
it's easy, we all falter, does it matter?
believe me Adia, we are still innocent
'cause we are born innocent
Adia we are still
