When one tries to be unobvious, but becomes the most obvious one

Recently, I went for my friend’s barbaadi, oops! shaadi. Basically it was a TV stars’ function. Lots of famous TV personalities had attended. It was nice to see some old faces, some new faces and many new faces on the old faces. It was almost like they had done DNR (digital noise reduction) on their faces.

This very famous saas looked almost pachaas. Believe me she has been around since TV was not even black-and-white; it wasn’t invented! But, good for her. When she entered, she managed to raise quite a few eyebrows. Unfortunately, she couldn’t raise hers. Then there was this not-so-famous mythological heroine, who looked like she sat down on two commodes and walked off with both of them attached. Just two years ago, she was thin and had no buns and now they weren’t even buns anymore, they were the bakery. Aisa lag raha tha ke Centaur Hotel mein ek asli centaur aa gaya. To call her the centre of attraction would be an insult to attraction. She was just the centre.

Then, there was this small-time movie actress who was part of many TV serials since the 90s. And her make-up looked like it was put in the 90s. It was almost like Asian Paints had decided to sponsor not only her show, but also her face. The good thing about her was that she would lose two kilos every day after packup. She would simply remove her make-up.

What I did notice on her face through the traffic of makeup was that she had got her nose job done. Her previous nose wasn’t that bad, in a crowded room, it always made her stand out even when she was standing in. I swear, guys, I know this lady since the last 20 years. In my initial days in TV, I helped her in her career when she was starting out.

Then there was also this famous item girl who nobody could recognise because she had worn a full dress and what a dress it was. Am sure if she attended a flower show, the judges would give her the first prize. Who was her designer, Calvin Clown?

I have nothing against detox, botox, surgeons and defying the aging process, but it is very risky. When one tries to be unobvious, but becomes the most obvious one.
