Construction aggregate, or simply "aggregate", is a broad category of coarse particulate material used in construction, including sand, gravel, crushed stone, slag, recycled concrete and geosynthetic aggregates. Aggregates are the most mined material in the world. Aggregates are a component of composite materials such as concrete and asphalt concrete; the aggregate serves as reinforcement to add strength to the overall composite material. Due to the relatively high hydraulic conductivity value as compared to most soils, aggregates are widely used in drainage applications such as foundation and French drains, septic drain fields, retaining wall drains, and road side edge drains. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) publishes an exhaustive listing of specifications including ASTM D 692 and ASTM D 1073 for various construction aggregate products, which, by their individual design, are suitable for specific construction purposes. These products include specific types of coarse and fine aggregate designed for such uses as additives to asphalt and concrete mixes, as well as other construction uses. State transportation departments further refine aggregate material specifications in order to tailor aggregate use to the needs and available supply in their particular locations.
Sources for these basic materials can be grouped into three main areas: Mining of mineral aggregate deposits, including sand, gravel, and stone; use of waste slag from the manufacture of iron and steel; and recycling of concrete, which is itself chiefly manufactured from mineral aggregates. In addition, there are some (minor) materials that are used as specialty lightweight aggregates: clay, pumice, perlite, and vermiculite.

Glass placed in recycling bins in Thurston County and neighboring counties is not actually recycled into new bottles or jars but is ground into a fine sand/gravel called aggregate or cullet. It is not sharp and is a perfect substitute for pea gravel or sand in many types of construction projects.

Glass aggregate has been used in many local large and small building projects. The Washington Department of Transportation has been using glass aggregate for several years now. Glass aggregate is available locally and is often significantly less expensive than similar materials.
If it's so great, why isn't everyone using it? Often times permitters, contractors, and engineers are not aware of the benefits or hesitate to use something they are not familiar with.
The Glass Aggregate Summit will have speakers from all aspects of the construction industry that are experts on the specifications and are successfully using the product.

Bare Essentials
Bare Essentials is a 1991 television film starring Gregory Harrison, Mark Linn-Baker and Lisa Hartman. It was directed by Martha Coolidge and written by Allen Estrin and Mark Estrin.
Plot
Gordon (Linn-Baker) and Sydney (Hartman) are both hard working over stressed and engaged and decide to take a short cruise. However, they end up getting lost and stranded on an island named Luhana. While there they meet an American named Bill (Harrison) who has lived on the island for 3 years and also owns it. Eventually Sydney starts to fall for Bill. They take walks together and swim in the ocean. They wind up having sex under water. Meanwhile, Gordon's laid up since hurting his back after chopping down a palm tree to make a boat out of. Gordon meets Tiana who turns out to be Bill's girlfriend. When Sydney finds out she's furious. The two couples end up playing Monopoly like they're at war. Gordon is falling for Tiana, who gave him a massage earlier which cured his back. Eventually the couples switch partners for the better. But then Sydney finds out that Bill has been hiding on the island because he's wanted for insider trading. She decides to turn him in to the police who eventually show up to rescue her and Gordon. She then decides not to, as she's grown very fond of him. She and Gordon start to head back home, but Gordon then jumps ship and swims back to Tiana. Sydney returns to New York, but realizes she misses Bill. She gets on a ferry to take her back to the island. Bill surprises her by showing up on the ferry, clean shaven and wearing a suit, to return to his old life in the city. He tells her he was framed and that his case has been settled. Gordon now owns Luhana. Sydney and Bill kiss as the movie ends.

This weekend and Monday my team and I worked on this concept design for a portable classroom for West Philadelphia as part of a charette for Architecture for Humanity. The entire design is modular and made from cargo containers and concrete using brick rubble from Philadelphia as the aggregate. Not only are the classrooms cheap, but the construction of them would create a local industry and help clean up the city.Special thanks to the amazingly talented Brian Gadomski for making the video and Cameron Sinclair for being awesome. -

Obscura Digital created a physical, social, augmented reality experience dubbed "Connections" at F8, Facebook's developer's conference. Attendees swipe in to the experience using their RFID enabled event badge. Multiple overhead projectors map visuals to the floor and an array of 3D cameras are used to reliably track any number of people within the space. Once “logged in” to Connections, a radial visualization, constructed from the user’s social graph data, surrounds them creating a unique “fingerprint”. Colored lines extend from the circles connecting people who share one or more of the observed metrics (mutual friends, interests, workplaces, schools, locations, birth sign, or non-English languages). When two or more people, who have mutual connections, stand within close proximity, a slideshow of mutual friends and interests appear between them. Positioned behind the Connections space, a large screen shares aggregate data about the collective group- surfacing common interests and profiling the most connected of the group.

We begin with the juxtaposition of the penis and the phallus as it appears in online solicitations for sexual encounters posted by horny guys. These advertisements reflect an internalization of the objectification of all human interaction through the market-place, which suggests that our very experience of being human is already constructed within the material and ideological aggregate that supports capitalist culture and the State. This work is an ironic audiovisual essay seeking to understand these problematics and to develop strategies of effective political resistance.

What I did all weekend
This weekend and Monday my team and I worked on this concept design for a portable classroom for West Philadelphia as part of a charette for Architecture for Humanity. The entire design is modular and made from cargo containers and concrete using brick rubble from Philadelphia as the aggregate. Not only are the classrooms cheap, but the construction of them would create a local industry and help clean up the city.Special thanks to the amazingly talented Brian Gadomski for making the video and Cameron Sinclair for being awesome.

Glass aggregate has been used in many local large and small building projects. The Washington Department of Transportation has been using glass aggregate for several years now. This makes sense because it provides the same function as sand and gravel and often has advantages over these materials in our rainy climate. Glass aggregate is available locally and is often significantly less expensive than similar materials.
If it's so great, why isn't everyone using it? Often times permitters, contractors, and engineers are not aware of the benefits or hesitate to use something they are not familiar with.

Glass placed in recycling bins in Thurston County and neighboring counties is not actually recycled into new bottles or jars but is ground into a fine sand/gravel called aggregate or cullet. It is not sharp and is a perfect substitute for pea gravel or sand in many types of construction projects.
Common uses include:
* base for roadways
* fill underneath slabs
* bedding for pipes
* drainage

Glass aggregate has been used in many local large and small building projects. The Washington Department of Transportation has been using glass aggregate for several years now. This makes sense because it provides the same function as sand and gravel and often has advantages over these materials in our rainy climate. Glass aggregate is available locally and is often significantly less expensive than similar materials.
If it's so great, why isn't everyone using it? Often times permitters, contractors, and engineers are not aware of the benefits or hesitate to use something they are not familiar with.

The entire design is modular and made from cargo containers and concrete using brick rubble from Philadelphia as the aggregate. Aquaponics is bringing fresh water to the parched realities of small farmers, struggling communities, and consumers. Aquaponics' clever merging of proven agricultural techniques delivers a sustainable, year-round production of fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, herbs, sprouts, and livestock fodder, and has provided small farmers with an invaluable tool which is both profitable and environmentally regenerative. The use of aquaponics greatly reduces the amount of water needed to raise fish and grow produce by traditional methods, while assuring quality and purity in the final consumer product.
Our project: COSAG- Commercial Open-Source Sustainable Aquaponic Greenhouse, will coalesce the expansive knowledge and experience of the industry and our team into a functioning 3,000 sq ft prototype capable of producing 500 pounds of produce, 125 pounds of fish, and 5000+ pounds of sprouts and livestock fodder a week. Our team has over 60 years of experience collectively in fields related to COSAG: hydroponics, greenhouse production, the food supply industry, small scale organic agriculture, open source programming, and sustainable construction. This experience, and that of our partner contributors HAPI HQ and Open Source Ecology, have contributed a great deal of ingenuity to the COSAG project. We have whittled our construction material and start up expenses down to $25 per sq ft: less than half that of comparable off-the-shelf aquaponic greenhouses.
It is Magpie Farm's and HAPI HQ's extreme pleasure to announce plans to release to the public, free of charge, COSAG's complete blueprints, materials list, fabrication and construction tutorials, start-up procedures, operations tutorials, and all future designs, modifications, and research, on the Open Source Ecology website or a similar platform. This freely disseminated information makes 4-season Aquaponics affordable and viable for any farmer, individual, or community. Our mission is one of empowerment: to give individuals and communities with few technical skills the ability to inexpensively source materials for COSAG fabrication. When coupled with community labor (think old-fashioned barn raising), costs can be greatly reduced while encouraging the flourishing of community pride and interdependence.
We see the COSAG as a tool to aid many struggling small farms and communities across America and the globe. This project is economically and environmentally viable, and involves simple operating procedures, industry-tested systems and methods, redundant back-up systems, and ongoing public access to current research and development. We envision strong communities physically and financially investing in the creation of COSAGs in their region in exchange for fresh, local, and organic produce and fish. This investment will facilitate much needed job creation on small farms.
You contribution to this project will directly fund construction of the first COSAG prototype and research facility. This project aims to document, record, and aggregate complete construction and operational COSAG instructions. Using this information, communities and entrepreneurs can affordably construct and operate their own COSAG facility. Once constructed, COSAG prototype results will be diligently recorded, investigating and publicly reporting such things as seasonal profit margins, seed production methods, and ecosystem integration.

A sprawling new church in the southern Roman suburb of EUR, set within the fictitious context of a new pontificate that is devoted to the massive restructuring and expansion of the church, its liturgies and its architecture. The site in EUR is set aside by the new pope as a field of experimentation, where the doctrinal and liturgical innovations being developed over the Tiber in the Vatican are immediately put to test and trial with the practising -- and non-practising -- public. All development in the work is structured around the theme of Assemblage, so that all scales, from structural unit, through to the composition of those units into spaces, and then the arrangement of those spaces themselves, are governed by a logic of assemblage, aggregation, and eventually in time (the project evolves over many postulated years) recombination. The eventual recombination being made possible by each type of space being constructed out of discrete units which themselves are durable and easy to re-use.

The internet has people swimming in data. It is used to segment audiences, construct media plans, set context, increase relevance and measure results and ROI. Data unquestionably provides the basis for better marketing science, while giving people the ability to engage in new forms of storytelling. By tracking behaviours and interjecting the right content at the right moment into consumer conversations, stories can be told in a way that's participatory and dynamic. More than ever before, data lets people create value in collaboration with each individual consumer, acting as a new currency in the exchange that is a brand relationship. How do people catch the data wave? What new media platforms will drive the next five years of marketing? How do ad networks, email engines and campaign management systems connect? How can data be used to drive a dynamic participatory storytelling process?
ALPHA dogs: the leaders of the pack
Digital alpha dogs are those mavens who spread opinion like wildfire through the blogosphere. Word-of-mouth, conversational marketing and 'user-generated content' all have a power they never had before: instant, global electronic distribution. Ogilvy invented the concept of 'differential marketing' – the idea that a small percentage of every brand's consumers is responsible for the lion's share of its profits. Influencers have been talked about for years – consumers who take it upon themselves to share their views of brands. By tracking behaviours and interjecting the right content at the right moment into consumer conversations, stories can be told in a way that's participatory and dynamic. More than ever before, data lets people create value in collaboration with each individual consumer, acting as a new currency in the exchange that is a brand relationship. How do people catch the data wave? What new media platforms will drive the next five years of marketing? How do ad networks, email engines and campaign management systems connect? How can data be used to drive a dynamic participatory storytelling process?
ALPHA dogs: the leaders of the pack
Digital alpha dogs are those mavens who spread opinion like wildfire through the blogosphere. Word-of-mouth, conversational marketing and 'user-generated content' all have a power they never had before: instant, global electronic distribution. Ogilvy invented the concept of 'differential marketing' – the idea that a small percentage of every brand's consumers is responsible for the lion's share of its profits. Influencers have been talked about for years – consumers who take it upon themselves to share their views of brands. The network effect gives these alpha dogs influence that is instantaneous, ubiquitous and permanent. What turns an early adopter into an evangelist? How does a casual consumer become a blogger-broadcaster? How does the advertising industry interact with the consumers who care, those 'leaders of the pack' who will market right alongside this? What kind of experiences and opportunities can be imagined to collaborate and create together?

This is an ephemeral world where nothing is ever finished, where digital technology allows people to continuously cut, paste, mash-up, redesign, integrate and experiment. A world called 'perpetual beta'. The days when six months was spent refining a marketing programme to perfection are long gone. When the target audience is able to 'mess with a message', it’s more important to put work out ('beta it') on new and emerging platforms, gauge the response (good or bad), and then keep the stories living and breathing with continuous input from the consumer. What lessons were learnt from the early years of the internet invasion? As media becomes more and more personal, how do advertisers co-create with consumers and quickly apply what is learnt from constant experimentation? What can people look ahead to?

Here is some documentation of a few surprising rendering effects I'm considering for levels in 99 Exercises in Play, a metagame based on World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros.
In "Cybernetics and Ghosts" Italo Calvino notes the similarities between Raymond Queneau's Hundred Thousand Billion Poems, the game of chess, and the "electronic brain," writing, "[j]ust as no chess player will ever live long enough to exhaust all the combinations of possible moves for the thirty-two pieces on the chessboard, so we know (given the fact that our minds are chessboards with hundreds of billions of pieces) that not even in a lifetime lasting as long as the universe would one ever manage to make all possible plays." Encountering every poetic, programmatic, or neural combination is impossible, and yet it is exactly those hidden patterns and unconscious repetitions that Calvino and the Oulipo explore in their writings–and those same patterns that most computer games seek to obfuscate in their software design.
Despite the fact that most games are marketed via genres that reflect algorithmic rather than stylistic or narrative content (e.g. First Person Shooters, Run Jump Platformers, etc.), for the past twenty-five years the mainstream industry, as indicated by the best-selling games, has been invested in the pursuit of the fantasies of immediacy, filmic realism, and immersivity that are inspired by the language of Hollywood film. In doing so, most contemporary game design attempts to hide those repetitive, procedural, discrete elements–what Ian Bogost calls "unit operations"–that drive computational media. Echoing Calvino, Bogost writes "[t]he Internet, the brain, human genetics, and social fads are examples of complex, unit-driven networks." Thus, like readers, computer game enthusiasts engage in vast networks of patterns that make up the aggregate histories of virtual worlds.
Following Mary Flanagan’s approach to game criticism, Stephanie Boluk and I examine two categories of meta-gaming practices which "critically play" the serial logics intrinsic to games in our essay "Hundred Thousand Billion Fingers." Focusing our analysis via an eclectic collection of player-created modifications of Nintendo’s Super Mario franchise, from remakes of romhacks to speedruns of sequencers we see Mario manipulated, mutated, duplicated, and aggregated across digital landscapes. When reading Queneau’s book or playing computer games, the constraints of the poem or program produce a range of repetitions, but rather than remaining subject to the mechanisms of control as defined by the rules of the game, the player performances we examine successfully "meta-game" the serial constructs they are working within and against to model the movements of a hundred thousand billion fingers.
Based this genealogy of meta play-styles I am interested in developing new types of software that imagine an alternative history of the game industry dedicated to these curiosities. Rather than pursuing advanced forms of visual representation, I propose building serial software based on the mass, invisible repetitions governing player performance. My "Oujeupo" project, 99 Exercises in Play, titled after Queneau’s Exercises in Style, begins with the idea of replaying the a single game ad infinitum. Over the past twenty-five years thousands of thumbs have piloted herds of Marios over goombas and green pipes before sending the plumbers to their collective doom down the first pit of Super Mario Bros. What kinds of meta-games evolve when constrained to the first level of this game? 99 Exercises in Play first translates World 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros. into the Unity game development engine and then uses Mario’s genre-defining mechanics as a constraint for producing ninety-nine meta-games.

What I did all weekend
This weekend and Monday my team and I worked on this concept design for a portable classroom for West Philadelphia as part of a charette for Architecture for Humanity. The entire design is modular and made from cargo containers and concrete using brick rubble from Philadelphia as the aggregate. Not only are the classrooms cheap, but the construction of them would create a local industry and help clean up the city.Special thanks to the amazingly talented Brian Gadomski for making the video and Cameron Sinclair for being awesome.

Construction aggregate, or simply "aggregate", is a broad category of coarse particulate material used in construction, including sand, gravel, crushed stone, slag, recycled concrete and geosynthetic aggregates. Aggregates are the most mined materials in the world. Aggregates are a component of composite materials such as concrete and asphalt concrete; the aggregate serves as reinforcement to add strength to the overall composite material. Due to the relatively high hydraulic conductivity value as compared to most soils, aggregates are widely used in drainage applications such as foundation and French drains, septic drain fields, retaining wall drains, and road side edge drains. Aggregates are also used as base material under foundations, roads, and railroads. In other words, aggregates are used as a stable foundation or road/rail base with predictable, uniform properties (e.g. to help prevent differential settling under the road or building), or as a low-cost extender that binds with more expensive cement or asphalt to form concrete.

The Glass Aggregate Summit will have speakers from all aspects of the construction industry that are experts on the specifications and are successfully using the product.

The entire design is modular and made from cargo containers and concrete using brick rubble from Philadelphia as the aggregate. Not only are the classrooms cheap, but the construction of them would create a local industry and help clean up the city.Special thanks to the amazingly talented Brian Gadomski for making the video and Cameron Sinclair for being awesome.

Aquaponics is bringing fresh water to the parched realities of small farmers, struggling communities, and consumers. Aquaponics' clever merging of proven agricultural techniques delivers a sustainable, year-round production of fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, herbs, sprouts, and livestock fodder, and has provided small farmers with an invaluable tool which is both profitable and environmentally regenerative. The use of aquaponics greatly reduces the amount of water needed to raise fish and grow produce by traditional methods, while assuring quality and purity in the final consumer product.
Our project: COSAG- Commercial Open-Source Sustainable Aquaponic Greenhouse, will coalesce the expansive knowledge and experience of the industry and our team into a functioning 3,000 sq ft prototype capable of producing 500 pounds of produce, 125 pounds of fish, and 5000+ pounds of sprouts and livestock fodder a week. Our team has over 60 years of experience collectively in fields related to COSAG: hydroponics, greenhouse production, the food supply industry, small scale organic agriculture, open source programming, and sustainable construction. This experience, and that of our partner contributors HAPI HQ and Open Source Ecology, have contributed a great deal of ingenuity to the COSAG project. We have whittled our construction material and start up expenses down to $25 per sq ft: less than half that of comparable off-the-shelf aquaponic greenhouses.
It is Magpie Farm's and HAPI HQ's extreme pleasure to announce plans to release to the public, free of charge, COSAG's complete blueprints, materials list, fabrication and construction tutorials, start-up procedures, operations tutorials, and all future designs, modifications, and research, on the Open Source Ecology website or a similar platform. This freely disseminated information makes 4-season Aquaponics affordable and viable for any farmer, individual, or community. Our mission is one of empowerment: to give individuals and communities with few technical skills the ability to inexpensively source materials for COSAG fabrication. When coupled with community labor (think old-fashioned barn raising), costs can be greatly reduced while encouraging the flourishing of community pride and interdependence.
We see the COSAG as a tool to aid many struggling small farms and communities across America and the globe. This project is economically and environmentally viable, and involves simple operating procedures, industry-tested systems and methods, redundant back-up systems, and ongoing public access to current research and development. We envision strong communities physically and financially investing in the creation of COSAGs in their region in exchange for fresh, local, and organic produce and fish. This investment will facilitate much needed job creation on small farms.
You contribution to this project will directly fund construction of the first COSAG prototype and research facility. This project aims to document, record, and aggregate complete construction and operational COSAG instructions. Using this information, communities and entrepreneurs can affordably construct and operate their own COSAG facility. Final Year Project at the AA, 2007/2008.
A sprawling new church in the southern Roman suburb of EUR, set within the fictitious context of a new pontificate that is devoted to the massive restructuring and expansion of the church, its liturgies and its architecture. The site in EUR is set aside by the new pope as a field of experimentation, where the doctrinal and liturgical innovations being developed over the Tiber in the Vatican are immediately put to test and trial with the practising -- and non-practising -- public. All development in the work is structured around the theme of Assemblage, so that all scales, from structural unit, through to the composition of those units into spaces, and then the arrangement of those spaces themselves, are governed by a logic of assemblage, aggregation, and eventually in time (the project evolves over many postulated years) recombination. The eventual recombination being made possible by each type of space being constructed out of discrete units which themselves are durable and easy to re-use.

Dada was a 'mash-up' art form, with the artist re-imagining ordinary objects and making them extraordinary. Dada stood for unexpected juxtaposition, combinations of incongruous elements that tried to say something entirely new – like the moustache Marcel Duchamp painted on the Mona Lisa. Dada reminds people not to foist traditional media notions onto new media platforms. Creative work today must be surprising – through the words, music, art, style, design or entertainment it contains. How can the advertising industry tap into culture today to create, build, protect and celebrate brands?

The internet has people swimming in data. It is used to segment audiences, construct media plans, set context, increase relevance and measure results and ROI. Data unquestionably provides the basis for better marketing science, while giving people the ability to engage in new forms of storytelling. By tracking behaviours and interjecting the right content at the right moment into consumer conversations, stories can be told in a way that's participatory and dynamic. More than ever before, data lets people create value in collaboration with each individual consumer, acting as a new currency in the exchange that is a brand relationship. How do people catch the data wave? What new media platforms will drive the next five years of marketing? How do ad networks, email engines and campaign management systems connect? How can data be used to drive a dynamic participatory storytelling process?
ALPHA dogs: the leaders of the pack
Digital alpha dogs are those mavens who spread opinion like wildfire through the blogosphere. Word-of-mouth, conversational marketing and 'user-generated content' all have a power they never had before: instant, global electronic distribution. Ogilvy invented the concept of 'differential marketing' – the idea that a small percentage of every brand's consumers is responsible for the lion's share of its profits. Influencers have been talked about for years – consumers who take it upon themselves to share their views of brands. The network effect gives these alpha dogs influence that is instantaneous, ubiquitous and permanent. What turns an early adopter into an evangelist? How does a casual consumer become a blogger-broadcaster? How does the advertising industry interact with the consumers who care, those 'leaders of the pack' who will market right alongside this? What kind of experiences and opportunities can be imagined to collaborate and create together?

Here is some documentation of a few surprising rendering effects I'm considering for levels in 99 Exercises in Play, a metagame based on World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros.
In "Cybernetics and Ghosts" Italo Calvino notes the similarities between Raymond Queneau's Hundred Thousand Billion Poems, the game of chess, and the "electronic brain," writing, "[j]ust as no chess player will ever live long enough to exhaust all the combinations of possible moves for the thirty-two pieces on the chessboard, so we know (given the fact that our minds are chessboards with hundreds of billions of pieces) that not even in a lifetime lasting as long as the universe would one ever manage to make all possible plays." Encountering every poetic, programmatic, or neural combination is impossible, and yet it is exactly those hidden patterns and unconscious repetitions that Calvino and the Oulipo explore in their writings–and those same patterns that most computer games seek to obfuscate in their software design.
Despite the fact that most games are marketed via genres that reflect algorithmic rather than stylistic or narrative content (e.g. First Person Shooters, Run Jump Platformers, etc.), for the past twenty-five years the mainstream industry, as indicated by the best-selling games, has been invested in the pursuit of the fantasies of immediacy, filmic realism, and immersivity that are inspired by the language of Hollywood film. In doing so, most contemporary game design attempts to hide those repetitive, procedural, discrete elements–what Ian Bogost calls "unit operations"–that drive computational media. Echoing Calvino, Bogost writes "[t]he Internet, the brain, human genetics, and social fads are examples of complex, unit-driven networks." Thus, like readers, computer game enthusiasts engage in vast networks of patterns that make up the aggregate histories of virtual worlds.
Following Mary Flanagan’s approach to game criticism, Stephanie Boluk and I examine two categories of meta-gaming practices which "critically play" the serial logics intrinsic to games in our essay "Hundred Thousand Billion Fingers." Focusing our analysis via an eclectic collection of player-created modifications of Nintendo’s Super Mario franchise, from remakes of romhacks to speedruns of sequencers we see Mario manipulated, mutated, duplicated, and aggregated across digital landscapes. When reading Queneau’s book or playing computer games, the constraints of the poem or program produce a range of repetitions, but rather than remaining subject to the mechanisms of control as defined by the rules of the game, the player performances we examine successfully "meta-game" the serial constructs they are working within and against to model the movements of a hundred thousand billion fingers.
Based this genealogy of meta play-styles I am interested in developing new types of software that imagine an alternative history of the game industry dedicated to these curiosities. Rather than pursuing advanced forms of visual representation, I propose building serial software based on the mass, invisible repetitions governing player performance. My "Oujeupo" project, 99 Exercises in Play, titled after Queneau’s Exercises in Style, begins with the idea of replaying the a single game ad infinitum. Over the past twenty-five years thousands of thumbs have piloted herds of Marios over goombas and green pipes before sending the plumbers to their collective doom down the first pit of Super Mario Bros. What kinds of meta-games evolve when constrained to the first level of this game? 99 Exercises in Play first translates World 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros. into the Unity game development engine and then uses Mario’s genre-defining mechanics as a constraint for producing ninety-nine meta-games.

Motoniveladora Komatsu GD555 Motor Grader working at the Road Construction site. This Grader grading CTB aggregate over old worn asphalt. Cement-treated base (CTB) is an intimate mixture of aggregate material and/or granular soils combined with measured amounts of cement and water that hardens after compaction and curing to form a durable paving material. A bituminous or cement concrete wearing course is placed on the CTB to complete the pavement structure. Cement-treated base is widely used as a pavement base for highways, roads, streets, parking areas, airports, and materials handling and storage areas.
The Komatsu GD555-3 motor grader has a Komatsu SAA6D102E-2 direct injection, turbocharged, aftercooled, six-cylinder engine producing 140 flywheel horsepower (FWHP). It has a full powershift transmission with integral free-wheeling stator torque converter and lock-up. It comes standard with an advanced monitoring system, blade suspension system, low front nose, bronze alloy guides on the blade, manual lock/unlock differential, and hydraulically operated wet multiple disc and adjustment free brakes. It has an operating weight of 30,950 pounds (14,039 kg).
The GD555-3 has a closed center load sensing hydraulic system with a variable displacement piston pump delivering fluid at a rate of 54 gallons (205 L) per minute at a system pressure of 3,000 lbs per square inch (PSI) (20,684 kPa)
