LEGACY.COM DOUBLES SUPPORT FOR FUNERAL SERVICE FOUNDATION'S FUND '45 GIVING INITIATIVE

Donation Match Event To Kick Off at NFDA Convention

Oct 18, 2016 - EVANSTON, Illinois – Legacy.com, the internet's leader in obituary and related services, is supporting funeral service by matching donations to the Funeral Service Foundation, the leading public foundation dedicated in perpetuity to serve the funeral service profession. Beginning at the NFDA International Convention & Expo in Philadelphia Oct. 23, 2016, and running through the end of the year, donations made to the Funeral Service Foundation as part of the Foundation '45 Initiative will be doubled up to $22,500.

Steve Parrott, President and CEO of Legacy.com, said, "The funeral service professionals in each of our communities stand with us and guide us through the greatest losses of our lives. Investing in the future of this cornerstone profession through the Funeral Service Foundation is an honor for Legacy.com. As Fund '45 kicks off and welcomes every funeral service professional to join, we are delighted to be standing in support of you."

Danelle O'Neill, Executive Director of Funeral Service Foundation, added, "Funeral service is rooted in relationships, and care and compassion are delivered one family at a time. The foundation has been serving funeral service since 1945, and Fund '45 was created to spotlight and encourage individual contributions in support of our mission to fund projects and programs that support all of funeral service in building meaningful relationships in the community. With Legacy's dollar-for-dollar match, we are able to literally double the impact of every donation on our way toward raising $45,000. Every dollar matters."

Donations may be made on-site in NFDA Central and via the NFDA app. Donors can then celebrate their impact at the Legacy.com booth (No. 4338), just inside the entrance of the expo hall, by marking their donation on the fundraising progress thermometer, and by adding their name to the foundation's giving tree in NFDA Central. Secure online donations also may be made at FuneralServiceFoundation.org.
