At least two people are confirmed to have died, and more than two dozen others are feared dead in the wake of an avalanche that hit a hotel Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, in central Italy, according to multiple news sources.
The avalanche occurred after the region experienced four earthquakes Wednesday in the space of four hours, each registering between 4.1 and 5.2 on the Richter scale, according to news reports.
Twenty guests were staying at the hotel, including children.
