Grenada (i/ɡrᵻˈneɪdə/; French: La Grenade) is an island country consisting of Grenada itself and six smaller islands at the southern end of the Grenadines in the southeastern Caribbean Sea. Grenada is located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela, and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Grenada is also known as the "Island of Spice" because of the production of nutmeg and mace crops, of which it is one of the world's largest exporters. Its size is 344 square kilometres (133 sq mi), with an estimated population of 110,000. Its capital is St. George's. The national bird of Grenada is the critically endangered Grenada dove.
In 1649 a French expedition of 203 men from Martinique led by Jacques du Parquet founded a permanent settlement on Grenada. Within months this led to conflict with the local islanders which lasted until 1654 when the island was completely subjugated by the French. Those indigenous islanders who survived either left for neighbouring islands or retreated to remoter parts of Grenada where they were marginalised—the last distinct communities disappeared during the 1700s.
Five men allegedly attached to a string of robberies around the island during the yuletide season appeared before magistrate Tahira Gellineau and were remanded to her majesty prison until 5th February
The two men caught in a drug bust in St. George last Sunday night, have been granted bail in the sum of one hundred thousand dollars each with two sureties as they made their first court appearance on Thursday.
Grenada recorded its second homicide for 2016 as members of the Royal Grenada Police Force discovered the body of a fifteen year old Good Hope resident motionless in a St. George community on Monday.
Thursday 5th November,2015 heavy rainfall left mourning families.

I am very lucky to be able to get involved in this specific outreach. This public health outreach is aimed towards fighting the cause of decay instead of just fixing decay. Thank you to all the people that make this possible. A survery team went in Janurary 2010 to 22 of the 200+ schools to screen for decay. The decay rate of children in Grenada is over 84%. The goal of this outreach is to seal and fluoride varnish all 26,000 children on the small Caribbean island of Grenada. All in hopes that future generations of children have lower decay rates. It is mandated by the government of Grenada that children get fluoride varnish 4 times a year, first molars sealed as soon as they are erupted, and to brush 2 minutes in school every day. Grenada's Herbalist Patrick Delves talks about the great benefits of stingy nettle Urtica dioica, often called common nettle or stinging nettle (although not all plants of this species sting), is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant, native to Europe, Asia, northern Africa, and North America, and is the best-known member of the nettle genus Urtica. The species is divided into six subspecies, five of which have many hollow stinging hairs called trichomes on the leaves and stems, which act like hypodermic needles, injecting histamine and other chemicals that produce a stinging sensation when contacted by humans and other animals.[1] The plant has a long history of use as a medicine, as a food source and as a source of fibre. Bruce Hartford grew up in Los Angeles, the son of labor organizers. He describes himself as a "four nevers" Jew: "never again, never forget, never forgive, and never stand by while other people are persecuted." Witnessing neo-Nazis counterprotesting a Congress of Racial Equality fair housing effort, Hartford immediately signed up to work with CORE. His activism took him to the March on Washington and eventually south to join the Southern Christian Leadership Conference field staff. He worked for SCLC in Alabama and Mississippi, including in Grenada, MS, where whites violently resisted integration. His health failing because of the unrelenting stress, in 1967 Hartford left the South for the student movement in California and has continued his activism to this day. As he says, "There is no d...

As the burden of chronic diseases continues to rise, low and middle income countries—whose health budgets are already stretched thin by other health and development priorities—are faced with difficult choices on how to best invest limited resources in control efforts for chronic diseases. Building on the key messages from the 2010 report, Promoting Cardiovascular Health in the Developing World: A Critical Challenge to Achieve Global Health, the IOM held a workshop on July 19-21, 2011 that focused on country-level decision making for cardiovascular disease and related chronic diseases.
In January 2010, the Ministry of Health of Grenada invited NYU College of Dentistry to perform a national oral health survey of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petit Martinique. The results of the survey showed that children under age 15 were suffering from an 83% dental caries rate. As a result, NYUCD and the Ministries of Health and Education have collaborated to implement a National School-Based Oral Health Programme known as "Smile Grenada!", which combines several preventive techniques using a school-based approach to reach all of the nation's children. The programme was initiated in February 2011 and aims to cut the new decay rate among children in half by 2013, while increasing awareness of the importance of oral health. This video documents the implementation of the programme conduc...

Grenada Travel Video Guide - Christopher Columbus discovered Grenada in 1498. The island was already inhabited by the Carib Indians, who had migrated from the South American mainland, killing or enslaving the peaceful Arawaks who were already inhabitants there. The Amerindians called their island Camerhogue, but Columbus renamed it Concepción. However, travelling Spanish sailors found its lush green hills so evocative of Andalusia that they rejected this name in favor of Granada. Over the centuries, although control of the island passed from France to Britain (and briefly back to France again), the name endured with just the slightest of alterations, changing from "Granada" to "La Grenade" to "Grenada". The French were the first to settle and travel to Grenada. Legend holds that in 1652 ...

I can't get it right
I'm searching every night
all over the world
for the perfect girl
I can't find a way
to make it every day
I can't get enough
do you believe in love?
I can't get it right
I'm searching every night
all over the world
for the perfect girl
I can't find a way
to make it every day
I can't get enough
do you believe in love?
I can't get it right
I can't get it right

You are the...
You are the...
You are the...
You are the...
You are the love of my life
You are the angel of hearts
You are the queen, you're my first love
Every mistery of heart
And we'll never be apart
You are my queen, you are my first love
