Crickets (also known as "true crickets"), of the family Gryllidae, are insects related to bush crickets, and, more distantly, to grasshoppers. The Gryllidae have mainly cylindrical bodies, round heads, and long antennae. Behind the head is a smooth, robust pronotum. The abdomen ends in a pair of long cerci (spikes); females have a long, cylindrical ovipositor. The hind legs have enlarged femora (thighs), providing power for jumping. The front wings are adapted as tough, leathery elytra (wing covers), and some crickets chirp by rubbing parts of these together. The hind wings are membranous and folded when not in use for flight; many species, however, are flightless. The largest members of the family are the bull crickets, Brachytrupes, which are up to 5 cm (2 in) long.
More than 900 species of crickets are described; the Gryllidae are distributed all around the world except at latitudes 55° or higher, with the greatest diversity being in the tropics. They occur in varied habitats from grassland, bushes, and forests to marshes, beaches, and caves. Crickets are mainly nocturnal, and are best known for the loud, persistent, chirping song of males trying to attract females, although some species are mute. The singing species have good hearing, via the tympani (eardrums) on the tibiae of the front legs.
A yacht club is a sports club specifically related to yachting.
Yacht Clubs are mostly located by the sea, although there are some that have been established at a lake or riverside locations. Yacht or sailing clubs have either a marina or a delimited section of the beach or shoreline with buoys marking the areas off-limits for swimmers as well as safe offshore anchorages. On shore they also include a perimeter reserved for the exclusive use of the members of the club as well as a clubhouse with attached bar, café or restaurant where members socialize in a pleasant and informal setting.
Although the terms Yacht Club and Sailing Club tend to be synonymous, some general differences regarding the recreational use of boats can be broadly outlined. Historically a Yacht Club tended to focus on a membership composed of yacht owners, including motorboats. This type of club often was extremely exclusive, attracting the aristocracy or the high class and leaving small boat owners out of the circle. On the other hand, a Sailing Club tended to focus on a membership composed exclusively of owners of sailboats, including smaller boats such as dinghies. These became very popular towards the end of the 19th century when small boats began to be produced on an industrial scale.
Drop City was a counterculture artists' community that formed in southern Colorado in 1965. Abandoned by the early 1970s, it became known as the first rural "hippie commune".
In 1965, the four original founders, Gene Bernofsky ("Curly"), JoAnn Bernofsky ("Jo"), Richard Kallweit ("Lard") and Clark Richert ("Clard"), art students and filmmakers from the University of Kansas and University of Colorado, bought a 7-acre (28,000 m2) tract of land about four miles (6 km) north of Trinidad, in southeastern Colorado. Their intention was to create a live-in work of Drop Art, continuing an art concept they had developed earlier at the University of Kansas. Drop Art (sometimes called "droppings") was informed by the "happenings" of Allan Kaprow and the impromptu performances, a few years earlier, of John Cage, Robert Rauschenberg, and Buckminster Fuller, at Black Mountain College.
As Drop City gained notoriety in the 1960s underground, people from around the world came to stay and work on the construction projects. Inspired by the architectural ideas of Buckminster Fuller and Steve Baer, residents constructed domes and zonohedra to house themselves, using geometric panels made from the metal of automobile roofs and other inexpensive materials. In 1967 the group, now consisting of 10 core people, won Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion award for their constructions. The Firesign Theatre folks had a commercial ~"kids, tear the top off your daddy's car, and send it, together with 10 cents in cash or coin, to Drop City, Colorado..."
Drop City Yacht Club is an American hip hop group performing for Platform, LLC, A&M/Octone Records through a joint venture with Exit 8 Records. Drop City Yacht Club members include Kristo (rapper) and THX (producer). One of the original members, A-Wolf, left for unknown reasons. Originally called The Freshmen, they adopted their new moniker in early 2013. Known for their atypical approach to making a rap record, they describe themselves as individually crazy artists collaborating to create one sane group.
The group's style fuses hip hop, pop and 1960s rock. A-Wolf described these characteristics as similar to The Beach Boys and The Beastie Boys.
A single, "Crickets," featuring R&B singer Jeremih, was their first release. A&M/Octone executive VP and head of promotion, Ben Berkman, explained that Jeremih was picked to redo the hook to give it a more rhythmic format. The song makes fun of their own rejections. The single peaked at 36 on the mainstream top 40 chart, at 36 on the hot R&B/hip-hop chart and fell just short of charting on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at 102. The group's video for "Crickets" has over two million views. In the fall of 2013, the group released their debut album.

Plot: Crickets is the cheery, lovable chef at gangland's favorite restaurant and, inadvertently ( and barely explainable), he becomes a hero in their eyes and becomes their unwilling leader. A romance between Mary Brennan and Jimmie Moore is put on hold as the gang and Mary's mama wishes for Mary to become the star of the current version of "George White's Scandals," and the current version of Mr. White's Scandals already has a star in Miss Helen King, who can sing real loud. In order for Mary Brennan to become the star, Cricket has to kidnap Miss Helen King. Miss Helen King does not wish to be kidnapped as she is quite content with being the star of "George White's Scandals", and her objections cause Cricket a problem or two.

Cricket Farming - An Unexpectedly Lucrative Profession - as part of the news series by GeoBeats. In today's tough economy, people are exploring all different kinds of business models and entrepreneurial markets. A surprisingly successful enterprise is cricket farming. Russ Basset of California makes a reported 2 million dollars a year selling crickets to pet shops for reptile food. Ghann's cricket farm in Georgia rakes in a reported 10 to 20 million dollars annually, and was featured on the television show Dirty Jobs. Students at Middlebury College have also started their own business with plans to provide crickets as a viable source of food. Inspired by a trip to Thailand, where eating bugs is quite common, the students raise the crickets in 31 gallon plastic containers. The crickets...
