Alexander is a postgraduate student at Macquarie University currently undertaking a PhD with Assoc. Professor Gabriel Molina-Terriza.

His research involves plasmonic nanostructures which are a promising pathway to combine the worlds of light-based and electronic information technology. Alexander aims to study and control those structures with engineered states of entangled light.

Alexander hopes to gain deeper insights into fundamental aspects of quantum physics like entanglement and quantum interference. Using specifically engineered states of non-classical light for interaction with plasmonic nano-structures, this could potentially lead to the development of new quantum metrology schemes.
