Ulisse, dopo aver visitato il paese dei Lestrigoni, risalendo la costa italiana, giunge all'isola di Eea. L'isola, coperta da fitta vegetazione, sembra disabitata e Ulisse invia in ricognizione parte del suo equipaggio, sotto la guida di Euriloco. In una vallata, gli uomini scoprono che all'esterno di un palazzo, dal quale risuona una voce melodiosa, dove vi sono animali feroci. Tutti gli uomini, con l'eccezione di Euriloco, entrano nel palazzo e vengono bene accolti dalla padrona, che altro non è che la maga Circe. Gli uomini vengono invitati a partecipare a un banchetto ma, non appena assaggiate le vivande, vengono trasformati in maiali (oppure si dice che i maiali li abbiano partoriti), leoni, cani, a seconda del proprio carattere e della propria natura. Subito dopo, Circe li spinge verso le stalle e li rinchiude.
Euriloco torna velocemente alla nave e racconta a Ulisse quanto accaduto. Il sovrano di Itaca decide di andare dalla maga per tentare di salvare i compagni. Dirigendosi verso il palazzo, incontra il dio Ermes, messaggero degli dèi, che gli svela il segreto per rimanere immune agli incantesimi di Circe. Se mischierà in ciò che Circe gli offre da bere un'erba magica chiamata moly, non subirà alcuna trasformazione.
Ulisse raggiunge la maga, la quale gli offre da bere (come aveva fatto con i suoi compagni), ma Ulisse, avendo avuto la precauzione di mescolare il moly con la bevanda, non si trasforma in animale. Egli minaccia di uccidere Circe, la quale riconosce la propria sconfitta e ridà forma umana ai compagni di Ulisse e anche a tutti gli altri tramutati in bestie feroci.
Ulisse trascorre con lei un anno ma poi è costretto a cedere ai desideri dei suoi compagni, che vogliono tornare a casa, e chiede a Circe la strada migliore per il ritorno. La maga gli consiglia di visitare gli inferi e di consultare l'ombra dell'indovino Tiresia, quindi Ulisse riparte con la sua nave.

The 12 labors of Hercules were not the objective of this film starring Lou Ferrigno as the semi-divine son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmene. Hercules must rescue Princess Cassiopea from her kidnappers, fight off grotesque laser-breathing monsters and in one case, jettison a giant bear up into space where it becomes Ursa Major, the Big Dipper or "Great Bear" constellation. Off-color (many scenes are in dim, bluish stage sets) and low-budget, this incarnation of Hercules may find unconverted viewers a difficult, 13th challenge to conquer.

Circe
In Greek mythology, Circe (/ˈsɜːrsiː/; Greek Κίρκη Kírkē pronounced [kírkɛ͜ɛ]) is a goddess of magic (or sometimes a nymph, witch, enchantress or sorceress). By most accounts, Circe was the daughter of Helios, the god of the sun, and Perse, an Oceanid. Her brothers were Aeetes, the keeper of the Golden Fleece, and Perses. Her sister was Pasiphaë, the wife of King Minos and mother of the Minotaur. Other accounts make her the daughter of Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft herself.
Circe was renowned for her vast knowledge of potions and herbs. Through the use of magical potions and a wand or a staff, she transformed her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals. Some say she was exiled to the solitary island of Aeaea by her subjects and her father for ending the life of her husband, the prince of Colchis. Later traditions tell of her leaving or even destroying the island and moving to Italy, where she was identified with Cape Circeo.

Impressed by his tales, the Phaeacians promise to escort him home to Ithaca. On the gods' plane, Athene is pleased that Zeus fulfilled her wish and allowed Ulysses to regain his favor. An Olympian orgy consummates the joyous occasion. Ulysses' wife Penelope is not satisfied by the sexual prowess of her suitors, which pales in comparison to the power of Ulysses. When a beggar arrives and claims he can do it, she first laughs at him; but after he reveals himself to be her husband and chases the suitors away with his sword, he makes love to his wife like never before.

Ulisse, dopo aver visitato il paese dei Lestrigoni, risalendo la costa italiana, giunge all'isola di Eea. L'isola, coperta da fitta vegetazione, sembra disabitata e Ulisse invia in ricognizione parte del suo equipaggio, sotto la guida di Euriloco. In una vallata, gli uomini scoprono che all'esterno di un palazzo, dal quale risuona una voce melodiosa, dove vi sono animali feroci. Ulisse, dopo aver visitato il paese dei Lestrigoni, risalendo la costa italiana, giunge all'isola di Eea. L'isola, coperta da fitta vegetazione, sembra disabitata e Ulisse invia in ricognizione parte del suo equipaggio, sotto la guida di Euriloco. In una vallata, gli uomini scoprono che all'esterno di un palazzo, dal quale risuona una voce melodiosa, dove vi sono animali feroci. Tutti gli uomini, con l'eccezione di Euriloco, entrano nel palazzo e vengono bene accolti dalla padrona, che altro non è che la maga Circe. Gli uomini vengono invitati a partecipare a un banchetto ma, non appena assaggiate le vivande, vengono trasformati in maiali (oppure si dice che i maiali li abbiano partoriti), leoni, cani, a seconda del proprio carattere e della propria natura. Subito dopo, Circe li spinge verso le stalle e li rinchiude.
Euriloco torna velocemente alla nave e racconta a Ulisse quanto accaduto. Il sovrano di Itaca decide di andare dalla maga per tentare di salvare i compagni. Dirigendosi verso il palazzo, incontra il dio Ermes, messaggero degli dèi, che gli svela il segreto per rimanere immune agli incantesimi di Circe. Se mischierà in ciò che Circe gli offre da bere un'erba magica chiamata moly, non subirà alcuna trasformazione.
Ulisse raggiunge la maga, la quale gli offre da bere (come aveva fatto con i suoi compagni), ma Ulisse, avendo avuto la precauzione di mescolare il moly con la bevanda, non si trasforma in animale. Egli minaccia di uccidere Circe, la quale riconosce la propria sconfitta e ridà forma umana ai compagni di Ulisse e anche a tutti gli altri tramutati in bestie feroci.
Ulisse trascorre con lei un anno ma poi è costretto a cedere ai desideri dei suoi compagni, che vogliono tornare a casa, e chiede a Circe la strada migliore per il ritorno. La maga gli consiglia di visitare gli inferi e di consultare l'ombra dell'indovino Tiresia, quindi Ulisse riparte con la sua nave.

Ulisse, dopo aver visitato il paese dei Lestrigoni, risalendo la costa italiana, giunge all'isola di Eea. L'isola, coperta da fitta vegetazione, sembra disabitata e Ulisse invia in ricognizione parte del suo equipaggio, sotto la guida di Euriloco. In una vallata, gli uomini scoprono che all'esterno di un palazzo, dal quale risuona una voce melodiosa, dove vi sono animali feroci. Tutti gli uomini, con l'eccezione di Euriloco, entrano nel palazzo e vengono bene accolti dalla padrona, che altro non è che la maga Circe. Ulisse, dopo aver visitato il paese dei Lestrigoni, risalendo la costa italiana, giunge all'isola di Eea. L'isola, coperta da fitta vegetazione, sembra disabitata e Ulisse invia in ricognizione parte del suo equipaggio, sotto la guida di Euriloco. In una vallata, gli uomini scoprono che all'esterno di un palazzo, dal quale risuona una voce melodiosa, dove vi sono animali feroci. Tutti gli uomini, con l'eccezione di Euriloco, entrano nel palazzo e vengono bene accolti dalla padrona, che altro non è che la maga Circe. Gli uomini vengono invitati a partecipare a un banchetto ma, non appena assaggiate le vivande, vengono trasformati in maiali (oppure si dice che i maiali li abbiano partoriti), leoni, cani, a seconda del proprio carattere e della propria natura. Subito dopo, Circe li spinge verso le stalle e li rinchiude.
Euriloco torna velocemente alla nave e racconta a Ulisse quanto accaduto. Il sovrano di Itaca decide di andare dalla maga per tentare di salvare i compagni. Dirigendosi verso il palazzo, incontra il dio Ermes, messaggero degli dèi, che gli svela il segreto per rimanere immune agli incantesimi di Circe. Se mischierà in ciò che Circe gli offre da bere un'erba magica chiamata moly, non subirà alcuna trasformazione.
Ulisse raggiunge la maga, la quale gli offre da bere (come aveva fatto con i suoi compagni), ma Ulisse, avendo avuto la precauzione di mescolare il moly con la bevanda, non si trasforma in animale. Egli minaccia di uccidere Circe, la quale riconosce la propria sconfitta e ridà forma umana ai compagni di Ulisse e anche a tutti gli altri tramutati in bestie feroci.
Ulisse trascorre con lei un anno ma poi è costretto a cedere ai desideri dei suoi compagni, che vogliono tornare a casa, e chiede a Circe la strada migliore per il ritorno. La maga gli consiglia di visitare gli inferi e di consultare l'ombra dell'indovino Tiresia, quindi Ulisse riparte con la sua nave.
