BOX OFFICE STAFF CALL OUT

Casual positions are now available for Box Office staff for the 2017 Melbourne International Film Festival, taking place between 3-20 August 2017.

We are looking for staff that will provide a high level of customer service, are passionate about film and have an ability to work efficiently both on their own and as part of a team. Basic computer skills are essential. 

Staff will be required to work weekend and evening hours, and should have good availability over the festival period. Staff will also be required to attend a training evening on Wednesday 26 July.

Box office duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing frontline customer service to MIFF customers
  • Processing ticket sales at various festival venues, including counter sales and telephone bookings
  • Providing information on festival events and operations to customers
  • Cash handling and end of shift reconciliation

FOH STAFF CALL OUT

We are currently recruiting for casual Front of House (FOH) Managers and Ushers for the 2017 Melbourne International Film Festival, taking place between 3-20 August 2017.

FOH Staff oversee the safe and enjoyable experience of audiences at all festival venues and ensure that all screenings and events run efficiently to schedule.

If you have experience managing and communicating with large groups of people and thrive in fast paced festival environment, we would love to hear from you.

Staff will be required to work weekend and evening hours, and should have good availability over the festival period. Staff will also be required to attend a training evening on Wednesday 26 July 2017.

FOH duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing a welcoming festival environment to all MIFF patrons including a duty of care and strong customer service.
  • Running venues on time according to the MIFF program.
  • Queue management, crowd control and management of large crowds.
  • Maintaining patron, staff and volunteer safety at all times.
  • Liaising with venue staff to coordinate effective problem solving.
  • Assisting venue staff in the event of an emergency or first aid.
  • Actively oversee the smooth running of each session including Intros, Q&As, special events and liaise with Festival staff and guests where necessary.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with all MIFF staff including FOH and Box Office casual staff, volunteers, Festival staff as well as external venue staff.
  • For Managers, briefing and managing ushers and volunteers on procedures, venue specific information, and protocol to maintain a consistent Front of House approach across all MIFF venues.
