Birth Through Knowledge (aka BTK) was a Canadian hip-hop/rock band best known for their 1998 single "Peppyrock," the video for which was nominated for the 1998 MuchMusic Best Video Award. The band consisted of Lo-Ki (vocals), Stone Groove (vocals), DJ Spinz (turntables), Adam Carlo (bass),Sam Cino (drums, percussion) and Matt deMatteo (drums).
After signing onto the Tommyboy/Ignition label, BTK released one album "Birth Thru Knowledge" in 1998.
BTK first came to attention when their song "Corncob Pipe" was included on the sampler disc that Korn released alongside Follow the Leader. They were the first indie band to ever open the main-stage at Edgefest '97. In 1998, the band toured with the Beastie Boys and with Our Lady Peace. They appeared in the 1998 Summersault tour.
The band won the 1997 MuchMusic Best Independent Video Award for "Superchile." They were also nominated for a Juno Award in 1999 in the Best Alternative Album category, losing to Rufus Wainwright.
Bruton's tyrosine kinase (abbreviated Btk or BTK) also known as tyrosine-protein kinase BTK is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the BTK gene. BTK is a kinase that plays a crucial role in B-cell development.
BTK plays a crucial role in B cell maturation as well as mast cell activation through the high-affinity IgE receptor.
Btk contains a PH domain that binds phosphatidylinositol (3,4,5)-trisphosphate (PIP3). PIP3 binding induces Btk to phosphorylate phospholipase C, which in turn hydrolyzes PIP2, a phosphatidylinositol, into two second messengers, inositol triphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG), which then go on to modulate the activity of downstream proteins during B-cell signalling.
Mutations in the BTK gene are implicated in the primary immunodeficiency disease X-linked agammaglobulinemia (Bruton's agammaglobulinemia). Patients with XLA have normal pre-B cell populations in their bone marrow but these cells fail to mature and enter the circulation. The Btk gene is located on the X chromosome. At least 400 mutations of the BTK gene have been identified.
A cog is a tooth of a gear or cogwheel or the gear itself.
A cog engages with another cog and motion in one will result in motion of the other. Gearwheels that engage with chains are sprockets, not cogs.
Cog, COG, or CoG may also refer to:
Cog was a project at the Humanoid Robotics Group of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was based on the hypothesis that human-level intelligence requires gaining experience from interacting with humans, like human infants do. This in turn required many interactions with humans over a long period. Because Cog's behavior responded to what humans would consider appropriate and socially salient environmental stimuli, the robot was expected to act more human. This behavior also provided the robot with a better context for deciphering and imitating human behavior. This was intended to allow the robot to learn socially, as humans do.
As of 2003, all development of the project had ceased.
Today Cog is retired to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology museum.
A cog (or cog-built vessels) is a type of ship that first appeared in the 10th century, and was widely used from around the 12th century on. Cogs were generally built of oak, which was an abundant timber in the Baltic region of Prussia. This vessel was fitted with a single mast and a square-rigged single sail. These vessels were mostly associated with seagoing trade in medieval Europe, especially the Hanseatic League, particularly in the Baltic Sea region. They ranged from about 15 meters to 25 meters in length (49 ft to 82 ft) with a beam of 5 to 8 meters (16 ft to 26 ft), and the largest cog ships could carry up to about 200 tons.
Cogs were characterized by a flush-laid flat bottom at midships but gradually shifted to overlapped strakes near the posts. They had full lapstrake planking covering the sides, generally starting from the bilge strakes, and double-clenched iron nails for plank fastenings. The keel, or keelplank, was only slightly thicker than the adjacent garboards and had no rabbet. Both stem and stern posts were straight and rather long, and connected to the keelplank through intermediate pieces called hooks. The lower plank hoods terminated in rabbets in the hooks and posts, but upper hoods were nailed to the exterior faces of the posts. Caulking was generally tarred moss that was inserted into curved grooves, covered with wooden laths, and secured by metal staples called sintels. Finally, the cog-built structure could not be completed without a stern-mounted hanging central rudder, which was a unique northern development. Cogs used to have open hulls and could be rowed short distances. In the 13th century they received decks.

"Cog" is a British television and cinema advertisement launched by Honda in 2003 to promote the seventh-generation Accord line of cars. It follows a chain of colliding parts taken from a disassembled Accord. Wieden+Kennedy developed a GB£6 million marketing campaign around "Cog" and its partner pieces, "Sense" and "Everyday", broadcast later in the year. The piece itself was produced on a budget of £1 million by Partizan Midi-Minuit. Antoine Bardou-Jacquet directed the seven-month production, contracting The Mill to handle post-production. The 120-second final cut of "Cog" was broadcast on British television on 6 April 2003, during a commercial break in ITV's coverage of the 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix.

So glad to have this first preview of my very first 2.2 solo project out for you guys to see. I started this the day that the update came out, and even before the update I had envisioned a level that revolved around a single center point. With the addition of platformer mode in 2.2 that plan has never been more possible, and I am very much excited to execute it with the plethora of new features :) I have been streaming progress on this level and several more projects here on youtube, and plan to stream much more in the future, so stay tuned for streams working on this in the coming days. Object Count as of 2/22/2024: 5900 Projected difficulty: Hard to Insane (It's difficult to determine due to new difficulty standards The song used in this level was composed by lchavasse/TheDevon lcha...
