A Mandurah man was lucky to escape serious injury earlier this week after he choked on a sausage and crashed his car into the front yard of a house.
Emergency crews were called to a property near the intersection of Anstruther Road and Boundary Road on Wednesday afternoon where the man had crashed his four-wheel-drive into a fence and car.

Police at the scene said the man had borrowed the vehicle to go a nearby shop and get some food, but as he was driving back he choked on a sausage, prompting a coughing fit that made him lose control.
He crashed into a parked car before hitting a limestone wall and stopping just a couple of metres before the house.
No charges were laid over the incident, and there were no injuries.
It's unclear what kind of sausage was involved.
