Stevie Joe

Steve Joel Moffett Jr., better known by his stage name Stevie Joe or Thuggy Fresh, is an American rapper from Oakland. He is a member of the group Livewire and is signed to Town Thizzness and Thizz Nation, both subdivisions of the late Mac Dre's Thizz Entertainment. He has been featured on many Bay Area hip hop albums, most notably E-40's 2011 album Revenue Retrievin': Graveyard Shift, on a song called "Don't Try This at Home", with frequent collaborator Philthy Rich, also from Oakland. He also appears in the soundtrack to the 2008 film Ghostride the Whip.

J. Stalin

Jovan Smith (born January 25, 1987), better known by his stage name J. Stalin (also stylized as J Stalin or J-Stalin), is a rapper from the Cypress Village housing projects in West Oakland. In 2007, he signed to Zoo Entertainment Production Company run by artist Mekanix, who described his style as a variant of Hyphy known as "Go". He is also the Owner of Livewire Records, President of Town Thizzness ENT, which is a sub-division of the late Mac Dre's Thizz ENT.

Biography

J. Stalin was born into poverty and earned money as a child by selling candy bars on the BART trains. Around age 16, he began recording and selling rap music. As a youth he sold drugs in his local housing projects and spent eleven months on parole for drug dealing.

Musical career

Although young and boyish-looking, J-Stalin adopted a tough rapper persona. He references Joseph Stalin in his stage name because they shared the same initials, and "he was short like me, but he was always smashin' on everybody." In a recent interview he remarked about his home and lifestyle, "This is West Oakland, man. This is the bottoms right here." He went on to say that the crime rate in his neighborhood was so high, the city had remodeled the housing units in his housing project to remove the back doors so that criminals could not escape from home raids by the police. His major influences Stalin claims came from a small town named Castroville. He claims he can relate to the poverty and hardships the town has to deal with and has major respect for the town. Stalin was also in the internet sensation video "Cupcakin" with J-Nash.

Mark Maxwell

Mark Maxwell is a British artist and creative consultant. He works in various media including painting, video and installation.

Life and work

Maxwell was born in Withington, Manchester and studied art and design at Salford College and later Suffolk College. In 1987 he was an assistant to artist/musician Brian Eno on live events involving the creation of set and lighting elements to live concert performances.

Creative Consultant

In 1992, he worked with designer Carl Hahn on the design of the 'History of the Pop Video' at the Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI) London and in 1995 worked with Jonathan Park and Mark Fisher at Fisher Park Design Consultancy, projects included the Voodoo Lounge Tour - The Rolling Stones.

In 1998 he collaborated with Jonathan Park (now Studio Park Consultancy) on several projects including Sony PlayStation live event (feat. Jamiroquai), the illumination of churches in Poplar, London, England, for the Lansbury festival, set and projection design for Roger Waters Tours (In the Flesh), Amnesty International concert (Radiohead) and designs for the 2002 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. A site specific sculpture was created for the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) utilising aluminium, etched glass and slow colour changing LEDs.

Philthy Rich

Philip "Philthy Rich" Beasley (born 1983), is an American rapper signed to SMC Recordings & Town Thizzness, a subdivision of the late Mac Dre's label Thizz Entertainment.

He first began his career in 2007 when he recruited fellow rappers Mistah F.A.B., J. Stalin, Shady Nate, Beeda Weeda, Ray Ryda, Eddi Projex & Lil Al tha Gamer to come on tour with him. The tour, "Stan Bizzness BG's", was cancelled after Philthy was arrested for selling cocaine, after which he was sentenced to a year in jail.

He signed to RBC Records in 2013 and released N.E.R.N.L. 2 on June 18. The album features guest appearances from Fabolous, Gunplay and Trae tha Truth, among others.

Controversy

In 2009, Beasley was arrested again by police for possession of an illegal weapon which was loaded having appeared on the Discovery Channel's series Gang Wars. He was sentenced to probation and six months in jail.

On February 13, 2012, Beasley was arrested with two other people after a rap concert at a nightclub in San Francisco, California for owning a Bentley that was reported stolen out of Las Vegas.
