1.61 London interior designed and refurbished this stunning 4,000 sq ft home in Belgravia, London. We won two international design awards for the property development of this home.
1.61 London worked with our private clients for almost 2 years to create this spectacular London House from beginning to end. The clients who also own houses in San Francisco, Mexico and Italy were looking to create their ultimate London home. The house architecture was completely reconfigured to open up the small existing rooms and the ceilings were raised to add extra ceiling height.
The design needed to incorporate the beautiful art and sculptures that the client already had. The main aim was to try and create a wow factor throughout the journey of the house. As you enter the house you are immediately hit with a stunning curved glass staircase and polished plaster stripes creating a backdrop to 4 warming sculptures.
Up the stairs to the formal reception area - we wanted to create the stand out room. With floor to ceiling bespoke chandeliers and back-lit onyx set against the gas fireplace - no expense was spared to create a room that was truly unique.
The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling space which we polished plastered and had bespoke glass circular lights made to create a unique feature. The headboard uses bronze mirror to reflect the lighting and widen the room space. And there is a walk in wardrobe behind the lizard skin feature headboard.
The master-ensuite needed to incorporate a shower and bath in a very tight space and so a very unusual design was incorporated here to make the space work. Definitely worth a look at minute 4:20.
The ground floor is a stunning open living space with a fully bespoke Italian kitchen incorporated. Marble wraps around the room and a special breakfast bar with inset glass creates the curved features. Towards the back is a glass atrium to allow as much light as possible into the dark back area. And to incorporate our clients unbelievable wine collection we created a fully bespoke glass wine cooler. See this at minute 1:10 - it really is a breathtaking piece of furniture.
Finally in the basement we removed the special car lifter which used to house a Ferrari! We created a complete snug and cinema room with seating that reclined from Roche Bobois. The room had to have a western feel as our clients were originally from the USA. The main painting which we incorporated in our CGI work was a piece on New Years Eve in Paris which our clients had purchased for valentines day when they first started going out.

Belgravia (/bɛlˈɡreɪvɪə/) is a district in the west of central London in the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is noted for its very expensive residential properties and is one of the wealthiest districts in the world. Much of it, known as the Grosvenor Estate, is still owned by a family property company, the Duke of Westminster's Grosvenor Group. The area takes its name from one of the Duke's subsidiary titles, Viscount Belgrave. Owing to the Leasehold Reform Act 1967, the estate has been forced to sell many freeholds to its erstwhile tenants.
The district lies mostly to the south-west of Buckingham Palace, and is bounded notionally by Knightsbridge (road) to the north, Grosvenor Place and Buckingham Palace Road to the east, Pimlico Road to the south, and Sloane Street to the west.
History
The area takes its name from one of the Duke of Westminster's subsidiary titles, Viscount Belgrave. The village of Belgrave, Cheshire is two miles (3 km) from the Grosvenor family's main country seat of Eaton Hall.

Julian Fellowes
Julian Alexander Kitchener-Fellowes, Baron Fellowes of West Stafford, DL (born 17 August 1949) is an English actor, novelist, film director and screenwriter, and a Conservative member of the House of Lords.
Fellowes is primarily known as the author of several Sunday Times best-seller novels; for the screenplay for the film Gosford Park, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2002; and as the creator, writer and executive producer of the multiple award-winning British television series Downton Abbey (2010–2015).
Early life and education
Fellowes was born in Cairo, Egypt, the youngest son of Canadian-born Peregrine Edward Launcelot Fellowes and his British wife, Olwen Mary née Stuart-Jones. His father was a diplomat and Arabist who campaigned to have Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia, restored to his throne during World War II. He has three older brothers: Nicholas Peregrine James, wordsmith David Andrew, and playwright Roderick "Rory" Olivier.

London 
i/ˈlʌndən/ is the capital and most populous city of England and the United Kingdom. Standing on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. It was founded by the Romans, who named it Londinium. London's ancient core, the City of London, largely retains its 1.12-square-mile (2.9 km2) medieval boundaries and in 2011 had a resident population of 7,375, making it the smallest city in England. Since at least the 19th century, the term London has also referred to the metropolis developed around this core. The bulk of this conurbation forms Greater London, a region of England governed by the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The conurbation also covers two English counties: the small district of the City of London and the county of Greater London. The latter constitutes the vast majority of London, though historically it was split between Middlesex (a now abolished county), Essex, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire.

1.61 London interior designed and refurbished this stunning 4,000 sq ft home in Belgravia, London. We won two international design awards for the property development of this home.
1.61 London worked with our private clients for almost 2 years to create this spectacular London House from beginning to end. The clients who also own houses in San Francisco, Mexico and Italy were looking to create their ultimate London home. The house architecture was completely reconfigured to open up the small existing rooms and the ceilings were raised to add extra ceiling height.
The design needed to incorporate the beautiful art and sculptures that the client already had. The main aim was to try and create a wow factor throughout the journey of the house. As you enter the house you are immediately hit with a stunning curved glass staircase and polished plaster stripes creating a backdrop to 4 warming sculptures.
Up the stairs to the formal reception area - we wanted to create the stand out room. With floor to ceiling bespoke chandeliers and back-lit onyx set against the gas fireplace - no expense was spared to create a room that was truly unique.
The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling space which we polished plastered and had bespoke glass circular lights made to create a unique feature. The headboard uses bronze mirror to reflect the lighting and widen the room space. And there is a walk in wardrobe behind the lizard skin feature headboard.
The master-ensuite needed to incorporate a shower and bath in a very tight space and so a very unusual design was incorporated here to make the space work. Definitely worth a look at minute 4:20.
The ground floor is a stunning open living space with a fully bespoke Italian kitchen incorporated. Marble wraps around the room and a special breakfast bar with inset glass creates the curved features. Towards the back is a glass atrium to allow as much light as possible into the dark back area. And to incorporate our clients unbelievable wine collection we created a fully bespoke glass wine cooler. See this at minute 1:10 - it really is a breathtaking piece of furniture.
Finally in the basement we removed the special car lifter which used to house a Ferrari! We created a complete snug and cinema room with seating that reclined from Roche Bobois. The room had to have a western feel as our clients were originally from the USA. The main painting which we incorporated in our CGI work was a piece on New Years Eve in Paris which our clients had purchased for valentines day when they first started going out.

London has grown a lot over its long history, absorbing smaller towns as it went along. Today, it’s a sprawling city, rich with culture and a variety of neighborhoods to explore.
The City, or the Square Mile, was the birthplace of London. These days, it’s the financial capital, with skyscrapers next to historic buildings like the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral.
London’s West End contains areas as different as Soho, Covent Garden, Bloomsbury, and Mayfair. It’s where you’ll find some of London’s most famous attractions, like Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. South Bank offers beautiful views of the Thames and the city. It’s also the home of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and London’s theatre district.
On the other hand, if you're interested in seeing the city like a local, you can take a break from the usual sightseeing and check out the trendy cafes, bars, boutiques, and galleries in the East End. This is where London’s artists thrive, and there’s a variety of interesting museums.
Get away from the bustle of central London with a visit to Greenwich, which is like its own small village. It’s home to the Greenwich Meridian, which marks longitude 0 degrees; if you straddle it, you’ll be in two time zones at once.

London has grown a lot over its long history, absorbing smaller towns as it went along. Today, it’s a sprawling city, rich with culture and a variety of neighborhoods to explore.
The City, or the Square Mile, was the birthplace of London. These days, it’s the financial capital, with skyscrapers next to historic buildings like the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral.
London’s West End contains areas as different as Soho, Covent Garden, Bloomsbury, and Mayfair. It’s where you’ll find some of London’s most famous attractions, like Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. South Bank offers beautiful views of the Thames and the city. It’s also the home of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and London’s theatre district.
On the other hand, if you're interested in seeing the city like a local, you can take a break from the usual sightseeing and check out the trendy cafes, bars, boutiques, and galleries in the East End. This is where London’s artists thrive, and there’s a variety of interesting museums.
Get away from the bustle of central London with a visit to Greenwich, which is like its own small village. It’s home to the Greenwich Meridian, which marks longitude 0 degrees; if you straddle it, you’ll be in two time zones at once.
