I've officially headed south in my travels of New Zealand! I spent 2 days exploring Dunedin. It's a bit of a college town but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything for travellers to see and do.
I managed to learn a lot about the history of the Dunedin at the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum.
I spent some time wandering the railway station.
I tested the local brew at Speight's Brewery.
I hiked to the top of Balwin Street which is know as the steepest street in the world.
I strolled through (a lacklustre thanks to winter) botanic garden.
Finally, I got my sugar fix at the Cadbury World factory tour.
Not bad for only 2 days of exploring.

Dunedin (
i/dʌˈniːdᵻn/ dun-EE-din; Māori: Ōtepoti) is the second-largest city in the South Island of New Zealand, and the principal city of the Otago Region. While Tauranga, Napier-Hastings and Hamilton have eclipsed the city in size of population in recent years to make it only the seventh-largest city in New Zealand, Dunedin is still considered one of the four main cities of New Zealand for historic, cultural and geographic reasons.
Dunedin was the largest New Zealand city by territorial land area until superseded by Auckland on the creation of the Auckland Council in November 2010. Dunedin was the largest city in New Zealand by population from the 1860s until about 1900. The city population at 5 March 2013 was 120,246. The Dunedin urban area lies on the central-eastern coast of Otago, surrounding the head of Otago Harbour. The harbour and hills around Dunedin represent the remnants of an extinct volcano. The city suburbs extend out into the surrounding valleys and hills, onto the isthmus of the Otago Peninsula, and along the shores of the Otago Harbour and the Pacific Ocean.

New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ new-ZEE-lənd, Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu – and numerous smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long isolation, New Zealand developed a distinctive biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.
Somewhere between 1250 and 1300 CE, Polynesians settled in the islands that were to become New Zealand, and developed a distinctive Māori culture. In 1642, Abel Tasman, a Dutch explorer, became the first European to sight New Zealand. In 1840, representatives of the British Crown and Māori Chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, making New Zealand a British colony. Today, the majority of New Zealand's population of 4.5 million is of European descent; the indigenous Māori are the largest minority, followed by Asians and Pacific Islanders. Reflecting this, New Zealand's culture is mainly derived from Māori and early British settlers, with recent broadening arising from increased immigration. The official languages are English, Māori and New Zealand Sign Language, with English predominant.

South Dunedin
South Dunedin is a major inner city suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located, as its name suggests, 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) to the south of the city centre, on part of a large plain known locally simply as "The Flat". The suburb is a mix of industrial, retail, and predominantly lower-quality residential properties. South Dunedin's 2006 population was 2,490, a decrease of 48 people from 2001.
The term South Dunedin is often used in a more general sense to refer to any or all of the various suburbs occupying The Flat, including St Kilda, Forbury, Kensington, Musselburgh, and Tahuna.
Geography
The flat land which makes up much of Dunedin's heart is enclosed to the south and east by Otago Harbour and to the north and west by a ridge of hills. At the southern end of central Dunedin, these hills form a ridge that (prior to reclamation) came close to the line of the harbour. To the south of this lies a broad plain, initially swampy but now drained and expanded by reclamation. This plain is the site of South Dunedin.

I've officially headed south in my travels of New Zealand! I spent 2 days exploring Dunedin. It's a bit of a college town but that doesn't mean that there isn't...
I've officially headed south in my travels of New Zealand! I spent 2 days exploring Dunedin. It's a bit of a college town but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything for travellers to see and do.
I managed to learn a lot about the history of the Dunedin at the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum.
I spent some time wandering the railway station.
I tested the local brew at Speight's Brewery.
I hiked to the top of Balwin Street which is know as the steepest street in the world.
I strolled through (a lacklustre thanks to winter) botanic garden.
Finally, I got my sugar fix at the Cadbury World factory tour.
Not bad for only 2 days of exploring.

So about a couple of weeks ago we were down in Dunedin for the NZMSA conference. It was a super well organized conference and very thought provoking. It was also really nice to get away for the weekend and meet some old friends down in Otago who showed us around some of the best parts of the city. We visit the Sponge Capital of the World at Tarpon Spring, Florida. The drive south passing by Wall Springs Park. We stop by Dunedin, its popular causeway, and Dunedin Brewery, the oldest craft microbrewery in Florida. The we continue south until we reach Clearwater Beach, which is one of the best beaches on the Gulf of Mexico.
We are a couple of aspiring nomads traveling throughout Florida and the rest of the USA aboard a Winnebago Micro Minnie 1706FB travel trailer. Join our travels as we take you with us along our journey.

I've officially headed south in my travels of New Zealand! I spent 2 days exploring Dunedin. It's a bit of a college town but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything for travellers to see and do.
I managed to learn a lot about the history of the Dunedin at the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum.
I spent some time wandering the railway station.
I tested the local brew at Speight's Brewery.
I hiked to the top of Balwin Street which is know as the steepest street in the world.
I strolled through (a lacklustre thanks to winter) botanic garden.
Finally, I got my sugar fix at the Cadbury World factory tour.
Not bad for only 2 days of exploring.

On 20th October 2014, I embarked on a 5-week solo trip to New Zealand. Throughout my journey, I climbed mountains, walked one of the NZ's greatest walk, hiked on a glacier, jumped off the plane at 15000 ft, hitchhiked with strangers, made new friends and spent some quality time with each of them. It is definitely one of the best time of my life.

Exploring Dunedin, New Zealand
I've officially headed south in my travels of New Zealand! I spent 2 days exploring Dunedin. It's a bit of a college town but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything for travellers to see and do. I managed to learn a lot about the history of the Dunedin at the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum. I spent some time wandering the railway station. I tested the local brew at Speight's Brewery. I hiked to the top of Balwin Street which is know as the steepest street in the world. I strolled through (a lacklustre thanks to winter) botanic garden. Finally, I got my sugar fix at the Cadbury World factory tour. Not bad for only 2 days of exploring. Now this other dude, he was real upset

I dipped into the crowd, made my way to the door
Bumped into this object and I hit the floor

I saw Anita the Beast lookin down at me
