Eat Bulaga!

Eat Bulaga! is the longest running noon-time variety show in the Philippines produced by Television And Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE) and aired by GMA Network. The show broadcasts from The New TAPE Studios (Eastside Studio) at the GMA Broadway Centrum in New Manila, Quezon City. Eat Bulaga! is aired Weekdays at 12:00 NN to 2:40 PM and Saturdays at 11:30 AM to 2:40 PM (PHT). The show is also broadcast worldwide through GMA Pinoy TV. The name approximately translates to "Lunchtime Surprise!".

The show celebrated its 36th year on Philippine television on July 30, 2015, holding the record of being the longest-running noontime variety program on air in the history of Philippine television.

Its first overseas franchise is Eat Bulaga! Indonesia, which currently airs on Indonesia's ANTV Network, and premiered on Indonesia's SCTV Network on July 16, 2012 .Eat Bulaga! became the first Philippine show to be franchised by another country.

History

The RPN years (1979–89)

Production Specialists, Inc., a company owned by Romy Jalosjos, brought the idea of creating a noontime show for Radio Philippines Network (RPN). Antonio Tuviera, who was working for the company, thought that the comic troika of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, better known as TVJ (who had gained fame through GMA Network's Discorama and as pinch-hitters for Student Canteen, but subsequently left both), would be the perfect hosts for the new program. At a meeting at the InterContinental Manila parking lot (now closed), Tuviera made the offer to them; they accepted.

Big & Rich

Big & Rich are an American country music duo composed of Big Kenny and John Rich, both of whom are songwriters, vocalists, and guitarists. Big Kenny was formerly a solo artist on Hollywood Records while Rich was a founding member of the country music band Lonestar and later a solo artist for BNA Records.

Their first studio album, Horse of a Different Color, was released in 2004. This album produced four straight Top 40 country hits, including the number 11 "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)", plus collaborations with Cowboy Troy, Gretchen Wilson, and Martina McBride. Comin' to Your City was released in November 2005 followed by another Top 20 single the Vietnam War-inspired "8th of November", and two more Top 40 hits. Joining the duo on this album were Cowboy Troy, Wilson, and Kris Kristofferson. Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace, released in 2007, produced the their first number-one single, "Lost in This Moment". Both before and during the duo's hiatus, Rich has worked as a producer and songwriter for several other artists.

Papa Jack

John S. Gemperle (born in September 8, 1982 in Alcala, Pangasinan, Philippines), better known as Papa Jack, is a radio disc jockey and television personality. He is best known for his popular evening-to-late night radio program TLC: True Love Conversations and Wild Confessions on 90.7 Love Radio Manila and simulcasts on Love Radio stations nationwide. He is also the author of two books about love advice based on his program.

Early life and career

Gemperle came from a poor family in Alcala, Pangasinan. At the age of 10, he became a farmer, a hog raiser and a vendor. He joined and won a modeling contest while in his high school years before went to Manila for his studies, and later graduated of Mass Communication course at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

He became a call center agent while at that time he always listening to the program of Chris Tsuper and Nicole Hyala at Love Radio. He later auditioned for the DJ search at the said station which he finally got hired and began his career under his persona known as "Papa Jack". In mid-2007, he started launching his love advice program TLC: True Love Conversations, which became one of the most popular radio shows until now. In 2013, Papa Jack and then-Yes FM DJ Chico Loco (Mark Jimel Gales) collaborated for their weekly program Gabi Na, Gising Na!, which lasted for 2 years.
