This video reports on the first digital air-ground communication experiment in 1991 transmitting Air Traffic Control clearances. The experiment was a cooperation between Eurocontrol and several UK research establishments. Although the focus of the video is on the use of the Mode S communication channel, the key messages for today’s ATC are the capabilities of the CINTIA Trajectory Management system to support an automatic conflict detection and resolution system based on Eurontrol’s ZOC concept. In this demonstration, with live aircraft, CINTIA manages conflicts on approach and runway whilst optimizing efficient aircraft operations and airport capacity. The experiment in 1991 demonstrates the feasibility of the concept and the compatibility of CINTIA with digital air-ground datalink operation.

The experiment was a cooperation between Eurocontrol and several UK research establishments. Although the focus of the video is on the use of the Mode S communication channel, the key messages for today’s ATC are the capabilities of the CINTIA Trajectory Management system to support an automatic conflict detection and resolution system based on Eurontrol’s ZOC concept. In this demonstration, with live aircraft, CINTIA manages conflicts on approach and runway whilst optimizing efficient aircraft operations and airport capacity. The experiment in 1991 demonstrates the feasibility of the concept and the compatibility of CINTIA with digital air-ground datalink operation.

En provenance de la région parisienne (Toussus-le-Noble), voici l'atterrissage sur la piste 12 de Deauville en passant par l'étape de vent arrière main droite à la demande du contrôleur. Ainsi, nous survolons Deauville, puis effectuons un large virage par la droite au dessus des plages de Trouvilles-sur-Mer pour rejoindre l'axe de la piste 12. L'avion est un Cirrus SR20 de l'aéroclub CA-SGAC de St-Cyr/Toussus.

This video reports on the first digital air-ground communication experiment in 1991 transmitting Air Traffic Control clearances. The experiment was a cooperation between Eurocontrol and several UK research establishments. Although the focus of the video is on the use of the Mode S communication channel, the key messages for today’s ATC are the capabilities of the CINTIA Trajectory Management system to support an automatic conflict detection and resolution system based on Eurontrol’s ZOC concept. In this demonstration, with live aircraft, CINTIA manages conflicts on approach and runway whilst optimizing efficient aircraft operations and airport capacity. The experiment in 1991 demonstrates the feasibility of the concept and the compatibility of CINTIA with digital air-ground datalink operation.

Live view shooting with the Fujifilm X-T20. How to set it up and a demonstration of how it works when communication is established via WiFI (bluetooth is not covered in this video, nor is transfer of pictures covered).
