So on the gradient between Charles I and Louis XVI, Ferdinand VII is about 75% Charles.

I'd say that Charles I is about 75% Ferdinand VII.
He's widely considered the worst Spanish monarch of all time, and there's some fierce competition in that list!

Yeah, but unlike Charles he actually caved. It was far too late to undo the damage but he actually saw the light before he lost everything,
