New look for Renault Captur

Renault's Clio-based Captur city SUV is set to benefit from a mid-life update.

The machine features a handful of design changes including new lights with C-shaped LED segments that bring it into line with newer members of the Renault family such as the Megane and Koleos.

There are new rear lights too, as well as reworked skid plates on the front and rear bumpers that join an expanded colour palette with new orange, blue and black tones that complement fresh alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Captur features a choice of six different colour customisation packs in a choice of white, blue, caramel, red and two chrome finishes, along with separate highlight elements finished in blue, red, orange or a new cappuccino-inspired hue.

There are new soft-touch materials for the cabin, including a revised leather steering wheel for high-grade models, as well as a new gear lever and reworked door cards.

As before, the Captur retains the option of zip-off seat covers to make the cabin easier to clean.

Renault says it paid particular attention to the fit and finish of the car, making it feel more like a premium proposition. The car also features an upgraded infotainment system, with high-end models set to benefit from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Front parking sensors are now on the menu, as are blind spot warning and self-parking systems - but autonomous emergency braking and rear side airbags are nowhere to be seen.

Renault Australia expects the car to arrive locally later this year. Local prices and specifications will be available closer to its launch.
