Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals is one of those films I could easily see twice. The neo-noir psychological thriller, gives so many themes to absorb on a story level. The plot follows a successful LA art-gallery owner's seemingly idyllic life, interrupted by her underlying fear of her second husband betraying her (live by the sword die by the sword) and the surprise arrival of a manuscript written by her first husband. Home alone, again, she reads the story of a teacher who finds a road trip with his family turning into a horror story. As the Susan (Amy Adams) reads on, she reflects on her past intertwining the two stories in one.
