The man who died after he was allegedly tasered during a struggle with police in East Perth on Friday has been identified.
Police were responding to a robbery in Lord Street around 11.35am, when officers came across the man, who was 40 years old. The man needed medical attention and as officers helped the man he became aggressive and a police officer was injured.
"As the officers continued their attempt to restrain the man he became unresponsive," a police spokesman said.
"The officers provided emergency first aid until St John Ambulance arrived. St John Ambulance conveyed the man to Royal Perth Hospital. He has since passed way."
Police want a man who came into the Perth Police station around 1pm on Friday, claiming he had information about the incident, to again come forward.
Detectives from the Major Crime Squad and Internal Affairs Unit are investigating the incident.
