Australian Chart Summary

Sunday - Latest

Weak low pressure troughs are causing showers in QLD, NSW and the odd shower in VIC, TAS, SA and southwest WA. Weak highs are keeping much of VIC, TAS, SA, WA and the NT dry with gentle winds.

Sunday 22:00 EST

A trough in the east will deepen, causing rain and storms to become more widespread in southern QLD, NSW, eastern VIC and TAS. An intense low and front will cause wind to increase and showers to develop in western WA. A high will keep the rest of the country generally dry.

Monday 22:00 EST

A low should deepen over the Tasman Sea, causing wind and waves to increase on the NSW and eastern VIC coasts. A high will clear most showers from eastern states. An intense low will bring strong showery winds to WA. Mild northerly winds will develop in SA ahead if a trough.

Tuesday 22:00 EST

A high will cause wind to ease and bring a cool, dry day to much of QLD, NSW, VIC and TAS. Mild, fresh and gusty winds will affect southern WA and SA ahead of a trough and low pressure, bringing patchy rain and storms later.

Wednesday 22:00 EST

A trough may gain moisture and cause rain and storms to scatter over central and southern Australia, mainly light. An associated low should maintain strong winds and showers in SA and southeastern WA. Onshore winds look to bring rain to the north QLD coast.

Thursday 22:00 EST

A slow-moving trough should generate fresh gusty winds, rain and storms across SA, western VIC, western NSW and western QLD. Rain and storms should become heavy near SA's eastern border. An offshore trough looks to deepen and bring rain to the QLD coast.

Friday 22:00 EST

A pair of low pressure troughs and a low pressure system may bring widespread showers, rain and storms throughout eastern Australia. A cold front looks to approach southwest WA and bring showers. Elsewhere should be clear under high pressure.
