New technological innovations are breaking down barriers to Education, Communication, Mobility, Independence, and Employment for people with disabilities. 

Independence: Almost half of people who are visually impaired would like to leave their home more often if they were able. #GoogleImpactChallenge #Disabilities grantee +Perkins School for the Blind is creating high-precision navigation for the blind via crowdsourced information. 

Other grantees like Wayfindr, +Wheelmap.org and TOM are developing innovative assistive technology to increase independence for people with disabilities. Read more about them at: g.co/disabilities

We're providing support to combat Zika in Brazil and beyond. 

Google engineers are teaming up with UNICEF to analyze data to determine how to map and anticipate the virus. We’ve also made some updates to our products to make Zika information more accessible, and we’re providing UNICEF with a $1 million grant to help their efforts on the ground.
