Leo Rojas

Juan Leonardo Santillia Rojas (born 1984) is a panflutist from Ecuador who won the fifth season of the television show Das Supertalent, the German version of Britain's Got Talent.

Biography

Rojas came from his home country to Spain in 2000 while his family remained in Ecuador. From there, he went to Germany with a tourist visa again and again. He lives with his Polish wife in Berlin, where he makes money as a street performer. A passerby alerted him to the talent show Das Supertalent. He applied for the fifth season in 2011 and was able to qualify for the final rounds. With an interpretation of El Cóndor Pasa with the Panflute and other South American wind instruments, he came through the semi-finals. There transpired a reunion of the musician with his mother from Ecuador, making for an emotional performance. At the finals on 17 December 2011, Rojas played the instrumental track "The Lonely Shepherd", written by James Last that became a hit in 1977 when performed by Last and Gheorghe Zamfir. The South American won the competition with a distinct lead.

Greatest hits album

A greatest hits album, sometimes called a "best of" album or a catalog album, is a compilation of songs by a particular artist or band. Most often the track list contains previously released recordings with a high degree of notability. However, to increase the appeal, especially to people who already own the original release, it is common to include remixes and/or alternate takes of popular songs; even new material (previously unreleased). At times a greatest hits compilation is the original release for songs that have themselves been released as a single and charted successfully.

Notable compilations

Madonna's The Immaculate Collection is the best selling greatest hits compilation by a solo artist; all of the songs on it are presented in different versions than the original hit versions. The Eagles' Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) is the best selling greatest hits compilation by a group and also one of the ten best selling albums in history. Greatest hits albums are typically produced after an artist has had enough successful songs to fill out an album release. Some artists, such as Mariah Carey, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Kenny Rogers, Aerosmith, Kiss, U2, Dolly Parton, Journey, Los Tigres del Norte, Queen, Kylie Minogue and Billy Joel, have released multiple greatest hits albums through their long careers. Plot: Malboro and Cucu, the starring characters, are two brothers who split after the older one, Malboro, went to prison five years. One day he is set free, willing to return to his life. The morning in which the story begins Malboro and Cucú visit their mother and make a promise to her. From this point, everything they'll do is is related to that promise. During this, they will run into several people, whose stories crash one into another, some of them lucky, others almost lethal. All the facts are leading to an end in where each character will recover their spot in the urban cosmos, once the sun rises once again.
