ANIMALS: Second Giraffe Calf Welcomed at Monarto Zoo May 041:57

A newborn giraffe was discovered on May 4 by keepers at Monarto Zoo, who had been monitoring mum Kinky for days awaiting the birth. The sex of the giraffe, the second born at the zoo in the past two weeks, is not yet known. In a press release, zookeeper Matt Brewer said: "Kinky had been keeping us on our toes waiting for her labour; we had a few false alarms. ?It was definitely a nice surprise to discover her little one this morning already up and about and having a drink. Kinky is a wonderful mum and is sticking close to her baby and tending to its every need. It?s really exciting to have two calves so close in age so they can play and explore together.? SPACE: NASA's Cassini Spacecraft 'Grand Finale' Dives Offer Closest Looks Yet at Saturn April 261:14

NASA?s Cassini spacecraft made its first ?Grand Finale? dive past Saturn on Wednesday, April 26, transmitting back to earth images showing the planet?s atmosphere closer than ever before seen. These raw images are the first from Cassini?s final act, when it dives into the planet on September 17. Cassini launched from Cape Canaveral on October 15, 1997, and has done dramatic fly-bys of Earth, Venus, and Jupiter on its way to the ringed planet. There, it discovered new moons and made fly-bys of previously discovered moons. Update: NASA released a video showing a progression of the previously released images during Cassini?s dive.
