14 Mopar Crate Engines You Can Buy Now!

The topic of crate engines can be a bit divisive in the hot rodding community. On one hand, having an engine package custom tailored to your specific car and performance goals from knowledge and experience of the builder is always the optimum ideal situation, but it's also really easy to see how that scenario can quickly get overwhelming, even for those who are fairly experienced.

There are actually lots of studies that back up the fact too much choice actually makes people less happy and less likely to act and make a decision, especially busy people with lots of other decisions in life to weigh out. But if you narrow it down to a manageable number of very tangible choices, like a list of proven crate engine packages, well now it becomes much easier to digest. Add in the fact that most builders will alter the recipe a bit if needed, and you've got the type of thing that actually helps sell more engines.

We're happy to report that renowned Mopar engine builders are fully onboard with the crate program and there is a wide variety of options available to cover just about any Mopar platform. From blown and stroked RB-series Wedges, to the more refined power of Gen-III Hemis, it's all out there. So to do our part and help narrow it down, we took a few samples from some of our favorite engine builders to give you options that will make you start checking your bank account. Let's get right into the good stuff!

Blueprint Engines

www.BlueprintEngines.com

Blueprint's goal with crate engines is fun, reliable horsepower that you can drive every day. And while they've produced over 200,000 engines in 20 years, Blueprint still likes to say that they are, "large enough to build engines by the thousands, but small enough to build one just for you." That's why each crate engine is individually broken in, dyno tested, and shipped with the printed results. That's also why most of their crate engines carry a 30-month/50,000-mile warranty. Blueprint's premium crate engines come complete with fuel system, ignition system, plugs, wires, water pump, and fuel pump. Plus, you can opt for either forged or cast rotating assembly on most models.
