We started our #DaddyBloggerWorldTour on Tuesday, Dec 4, 2016 and have been documenting each and every day of our travels. This document was originally only intended to be private for our family to remember all the details of our trip. However, my wife encouraged me to share it on our blog so our readers could see the finer details of the itinerary of a World Tour. So, as usual...I listened to my … [Read more...]
Preparing for our #DaddyBloggerWorldTour

Travelling Overland from Johannesburg to Cape Town with Baz Bus
Curious about travelling to South Africa? Road Trip to Hermanus, Gansbaai, and Cape Agulhas
Visiting Cape Town? There are several Road Trips you can do from The Mother City including Cape Point, Stellenbosch, and the West Coast. We did Cape Point and Stellenbosh as day trips. 33 South Backpackers in Observatory
We found out about 33 South Backpackers from the former owner Kim Whitaker, who is currently running Once in Cape Town. We had such a fun time at Once in Cape Town that we knew that we would enjoy 33 South as well! Each of the rooms is named after a different district / suburb of Cape Town and has a unique look and feel. We stayed in Bo Kaap (the Muslim area with the colourful houses). You can see … [Read more...]
HomeBase Cape Town
Our first hostel in South Africa was at HomeBase Melville in Johannesburg so it was only fitting we stay at HomeBase Cape Town too! We had a lovely stay at the Cape Town location as it had an awesome Family Room, Communal Kitchen, Rooftop Garden, Amazing Staff, and an adorable dog named Basey! It's run by a mom and her 2 sons and it definitely has a family-friendly ambience! Here's why we … [Read more...]

The Wild Farm in Wilderness
#FarmStay I've always wondered what it would be like to stay on a farm. Well, after this week, I had to wonder no more as we were able to stay at The Wild Farm in Wilderness. From the moment we got off the Baz Bus and jumped into the Farm Shuttle and started driving up a winding dirt road, I knew this was going to be a special experience. It has become one of the highlights of our entire 2 … [Read more...]
Staying at Island Vibe in South Africa
How family-friendly are backpackers hostels? That was the question that was running through our minds as we were planning our 5 week trip from Johannesburg to Cape Town in South Africa. Since we are using Baz Bus to travel across South Africa, it made sense to stay directly in hostels since the buses do door-to-door drop-offs and pick-ups at all the major backpackers in each city. We are going … [Read more...]
