Does not work

When I installed Windows 10 the DVD Player was included and it worked well for awhile but then it stopped working. I reinstalled the app today from the store at a cost of $14.99 however it will not play DVDs either. If the $14.99 is processed by my Credit Card account I will need a refund.

If you want constant, glitch-y annoyances & wasted time

After payment, download, and updating; Microsoft Corporation's DVD player stops or skips a new DVD as though it were scratched, blinks movie playback intermittently, blacks out the video frame every few seconds; operates as though a human twitch, tick, or muscle is spasm-ing in the reverse direction, interrupts with these constant glitches, disrupts any measure of enjoyable entertainment as though one paid for masochism by a sadistic corporation, and behaves this way near every single minute while not connected to internet. Do your customers want to watch their DVDs where internet is not available or unnecessary for proper video playback of mainstream, wholesome movies for children and adults?

Works great-

It's a bit expensive. But since a dvd player software/app did not come pre-installed on my laptop, I wasn't familiar with any other option. So far this app is doing everything it says it can. I only wish that for the price it could also play blu rays!

Works well

Windows DVD Player works well, but occasionally it freezes when I allow the cpu to go to sleep and then try to start up the player again. There's nothing outstanding about the player, but again, it works.

Rating 0.1 stars. Don't waste your money...

This played one video. Mind you it was also the first time that I had used the program so when it skipped, and stopped playing the DVD 4 times throughout the movie I thought it was a user error. Maybe I had moved the mouse, or accidently hit a button on the keyboard. No such case. The second time that I had attempted to watch a movie the program/app opened for a total of 2 seconds before closing and revealing my home screen and wallpaper. I am currently on a call with customer service at 1 888-599-3715 and have been waiting to speak to a foreign person for about an hour now. Not to mention that this used to be included when you bought the windows PC. My windows 2000 worked better than this. Major POS. I think I'm going to go with Apple from now on.

Works if you download new Windows 10 update

I bought this app today and experienced similar problems: the DVD player not reading DVDs and shutting down after a few seconds. I went to publisher support and downloaded Windows update KB4015438. The DVD player works fine now. Hope this helps.

This DVD Player Absolutely Sucks

Well I would like it if it worked. I had this for awhile and it worked great then as others have stated in their reviews Windows ran an update and now the player will not open. Then on the DVD Player page in the store it says you will need to load an update so the DVD Player will not crash. Uhhhhhhh wrong the update I tried to load was nothing but junk and filled with a bunch of crap that I did not want on my computer at all. Doubt I will buy anything else from Windows. Fix your updates so they don't wreck apps that people pay for and expect to work!!!!!!!!!
