Bogotá, February 25, 2014.- During the 33rd ANATO Tourism Showcase, to be held from February 26th to the 28th in Bogota, the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, Santiago Rojas, said that the this is part of the effort to strengthen tourism in the regions so that it can become an engine of economic development.

International visitors to Colombia surpass world average
Bogotá, February 21, 2014.- In 2013, Colombia received 3,747,945 international travelers. This was an increase of 7.34%, compared to the previous year and placed the country two percentage points above the world average and four points above the average for the Americas.

Bogotá, DC, February 20, 2014.- The Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, Santiago Rojas, drew attention to an article published by the Spanish newspaper, El Pais, in which Ruchir Sharma, the head of emerging markets division of the investment bank, Morgan Stanely, said: “Colombia is the most promising country in Latin America.”

Positive balance for Colombia – Panama bilateral meeting
Bogotá, DC, February 20, 2014.- The Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, Santiago Rojas, said that the bilateral meeting with Panama, which took place in Cartagena, ended with a positive balance. He explained that the issues addressed mainly concerned Decree 074 of Colombia which seeks to control the import of footwear and clothing from Panama, entering the country at below market prices.
