Tram comes off tracks in Melbourne's south-east

Route 64 trams have resumed after one tram ran off the tracks on Hawthorn Road, in Caulfield South, on Friday.

Trams on Hawthorn Road were being diverted via Glenhuntly Road in both directions, but normal services resumed about 1.30pm.

"The tram was changing tracks at the time," a Yarra Trams spokeswoman said.

"We're just trying to determine what happened."

The spokeswoman said the front part of the tram followed the correct track, but the centre part did not.

"The front bogie followed the right track, but the centre bogie followed an incorrect track," she said.

"There were no passengers on board at the time, just the driver."

No one was injured in the incident.
