Three people have been taken to hospital after a car smashed through the glass doors of the Westfield Geelong shopping centre.

The driver of the Toyota sedan and two pedestrians suffered minor injuries in the crash which occurred near the RACV outlet at the shopping centre about 10.45am on Thursday.

Paramedics have taken a man in his 60s and an elderly couple to Geelong hospital in a stable condition.

The woman was taken to hospital with back pain, while the man was treated for neck and chest pain, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.

It is not clear whether the driver was affected by a medical condition, or accidentally hit the accelerator.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
