Erin Molan on Anthony Bell affair: 'There is not one iota of truth to any of the speculation'

An emotional Erin Molan says there is "not one iota of truth' to allegations she was having an affair with Anthony Bell.

Speaking on the Footy Show on Thursday, the 34-year-old host said she was "devastated to be dragged into what is a very sad situation".

The marriage woes of Anthony Bell and Kelly Landry have been laid bare in Downing Centre Local Court this week as part of a hearing over an apprehended violence order taken out on Ms Landry's behalf in January.

Molan was dragged into the saga on Tuesday when Ms Landry told the court she had suspected the sports journalist's relationship with her husband.

Ms Landry confronted her husband after he skippered the maxi yacht Perpetual Loyal to victory in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race last year.

Molan denied having an intimate relationship with Bell in a statement issued through her employer, the Nine Network, on Tuesday.

But on Thursday night,  a visibly upset Molan made a personal statement shortly after the show began.

"It's obviously been a really tough week for me, my fiance and my family … we are all devastated to be dragged into what is a very sad situation — but one that doesn't involve any of us," she said, her voice cracking with emotion.

"We're very devastated to be dragged into what is a very sad situation, particularly given the insinuation of an inappropriate relationship.

"And I can assure you there is not one iota of truth to any of the speculation, it is not who I am, and it doesn't reflect the values that I possess, and it is not how I was raised.

"I just want to say to everyone who has sent me messages of support, and who has supported me both publicly and privately, it has meant that absolute world to me and to Sean and has really helped in what has been a very difficult week.

"I don't mean to be self-indulgent because there are people out there who are fighting very tough battles that are far more serious than mine, but thank you for your support."

Earlier on Thursday, a court heard Molan's police officer fiance breached NSW Police policies when he made a statement related to domestic violence allegations against Anthony Bell.

Detective Senior Constable Sean Ogilvy gave evidence on Thursday at a NSW Downing Centre Local Court hearing about an apprehended violence order application against the champion skipper and accountant.

Under cross-examination by police prosecutor Laura Nightingale, Detective Senior Constable Ogilvy agreed he had been "counselled" about a statement he made in January.

Sergeant Nightingale put it to him that he shouldn't have identified himself as a police officer when he was making the statement in a personal capacity and he agreed, saying he'd since been made aware it was wrong.

A former nanny, Gordana Karoglan told the court she had advised the pair they should separate.

"I just thought they were both in an unhappy marriage and Kelly was complaining every single day I was there," Ms Karoglan said.
