5 UFOs Caught On Tape & Spotted In Real Life!

Unidentified flying objects are exactly that. You may give a quizzical look to that eye witness on your local TV station when they say they spotted a UFO. But what would you say when a military pilot, with years of experience in flight training claims they have seen an object in the sky that they cannot identify? What registers as more disturbing is when these military officers report officially chasing the flying objects! With this being said, prepare, because here are 5 Chilling Military Encounters With UFOs! Ready? Well, lets begin!
1. Operation Highjump
Operation High Jump, or the Invasion of Antarctica, was led by Admiral Richard E. Byrd at a time when German Naval units were being encountered in South Atlantic as late as 1947. One conspiracy theory states that the reason America’s military was quite suspicious of this area was because a German expedition into the Antarctica in 1938 led to a vast series of underground caravans heated by subterranean rivers that finally became the new home to the Nazi regime. They made contact with ancient aliens and with extra-terrestrial help, constructed flying crafts that resembled classic UFOs. The enemy had to be eliminated which explains Admiral Byrd’s mission.
2. The USS Memphis Encounter
The day was October 24, 1989. At 150 miles off the Florida coast and aboard of the submarine U.S.S. Memphis, the submarine began experiencing electrical anomalies, malfunctioning systems and loss of navigation. The captain ordered all systems shut down and the submarine surfaced. Once above wáter, the surface watch could see the rainy night lit up red with a large inverted V-shaped object hovering over the port side. The object was half a mile across. However, when it made a half-circle around the submarine passing the stern at a remarkable speed, the electronic systems went haywire…again. The sailors lost sight of the huge object and in split seconds everything got back to normal. Air Force authorities attempted to explain the sighting as an exploding weather satellite.
3. The 1986 Brazilian Air Force Chase
On the night of May 19th, 1989 the Brazilian Air Defense command saw foreign objects travelling at speeds of 1,000 mph. Binoculars showed that the travelling objects were red-orange in color with defined edges. Ozires Silva’s private jet, a retired air force colonel spotted the objects at an altitude of 10,000 feet. He gave the orders to follow the objects. Two F-5E jet fighters were launched from Anapolis airbase to intercept the objects but were first unable to visually confirm the objects. As the jets attempted to close the distance, the objects were maneuvering in a zigzag motion before disappearing into thin air. And up to this day, it all remains a mystery...
4. The Dulce Incident of 1979
The story is narrated by Schneider, an engineer contracted by the US government in 1979 to work on the construction of a secret military base in Dulce. He claims that the site had a heavily armed Special Forces Unit presence, until one day, when conducting underground drilling, the crew came face to face with gray-skinned aliens. The military escort opened fire and managed to kill two of them before one fired some sort of plasma beam back at them. America lost sixty men that day- both soldiers and engineers were killed. Only a handful made it out alive. The aliens retreated to the cavern and it is believed they may still be there until today. Later on, Schneider was found murdered execution style.
5. The 1998 Chinese Air Force Encounter
Eye witnesses at a military flight training school in Changzhou, Hebei province report seeing UFOs that looked like small stars that had a mushroom-shaped dome on top, and a flat bottom containing brilliant, rotating lights. As a military jet tried pursuing it got close, the object would shoot up and accelerate out of range before returning to a position right above it. The pilot was denied permission to open fire and had to break off his pursuit at an altitude of 39,600 feet when he began running out of fuel.

Real Life (1979 film)
Real Life is a 1979 American comedy film starring Albert Brooks (in his directorial debut), who also co-authored the screenplay. It is a spoof of the 1973 reality television program An American Family and portrays a documentary filmmaker named Albert Brooks who attempts to live with and film a dysfunctional family for one full year.
Charles Grodin co-stars as the family's patriarch who consents to permit cameras in his Arizona home. Real-life producer Jennings Lang also has an acting role in Real Life.
Plot
Ordinary family man Warren Yeager and his wife Jeannette are delighted to have a documentary filmmaker, Albert Brooks, choose them for a new cinematic and "scientific" experiment—he intends to capture every waking moment of their daily life on film. It is a project Brooks confidently announces to a large gathering, even greeting them with a song.
The concept is for the Yeagers and their two children to go about their business at their Phoenix home, work and school as if nothing is different from a typical day, ignoring the fact that men wearing cameras that look like Star Wars helmets are recording every move they make and every word they say.

The dream of leaving the hustle and bustle of your day job behind - let's say your job is being a traveling shoe salesman for instance, let's also say that's it's put such a strain on you and your family and your home life that it's given you a "bleeding ulcer." Selling shoes. Anyway, the next logical step in your dream would be to...open a movie theater, right? OF COURSE! It's way easier than selling shoes. Well, friends, that happens to be the exact dream of a Mr. Mitford Webster. He's had it! Through with the shoe game! So when "they" finally accept his bid on the old local theater - The Crest - (which, by the way, was shut down for showing PORNOGRAPHY!) he's in there like swimwear. Mitford gets the whole family together to clean up "pigeon BM", hang decorations, stock the snack bar over and over and - naturally - talk about how much they love hot dogs at every chance they get. They hire a nerdly projectionist with the hots for Mitfords daughter and soon the bright lights of the marquee are setting the night ablaze as opening night is upon them! So much for wholesome. Enter Lt. Wombat (for real) to solve the mystery. Will the family heed the warnings of the crusty hobo telling them of their impending doom? Who is the even crustier rat-biting, Jean Harlow obsessive? Who really likes hot dogs this much? What happens at the end of GRIZZLY SAFARI WHOLESOME MOVIE? While Derek Savage shows a clear love for old timey movies, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the family unit, rats, and more - the true star of this PG rated head-scratcher is, you guessed it, MEAT. Though not explicitly stated, not long into it's 85 minute runtime it becomes clear that the Meat Council has sunk it's claws deep into the banking of this film. On more than one occasion, all action stops to extol the virtues of hot dogs and their various nutrients. One has to wonder how good it can be for a shoe-selling-induced-bleeding-ulcer to have hot dog after hot dog piled on it, but, hey, we're not doctors. All told THE MEATEATER (aka BLOOD THEATER) is not a perfect film, though it is one you are not likely to forget anytime soon and certainly has that particular je ne sais hot dog that we find so endearing. In fact, once you've MUSTARD the strength to get your BUNS in the seat and watch it, you might find you actually RELISH it. I'll show myself out. Trailer by Matt Posey.

What registers as more disturbing is when these military officers report officially chasing the flying objects! With this being said, prepare, because here are 5 Chilling Military Encounters With UFOs! Ready? Well, lets begin!
1. Operation Highjump
Operation High Jump, or the Invasion of Antarctica, was led by Admiral Richard E. Byrd at a time when German Naval units were being encountered in South Atlantic as late as 1947. One conspiracy theory states that the reason America’s military was quite suspicious of this area was because a German expedition into the Antarctica in 1938 led to a vast series of underground caravans heated by subterranean rivers that finally became the new home to the Nazi regime. They made contact with ancient aliens and with extra-terrestrial help, constructed flying crafts that resembled classic UFOs. The enemy had to be eliminated which explains Admiral Byrd’s mission.
2. The USS Memphis Encounter
The day was October 24, 1989. At 150 miles off the Florida coast and aboard of the submarine U.S.S. Memphis, the submarine began experiencing electrical anomalies, malfunctioning systems and loss of navigation. The captain ordered all systems shut down and the submarine surfaced. Once above wáter, the surface watch could see the rainy night lit up red with a large inverted V-shaped object hovering over the port side. The object was half a mile across. However, when it made a half-circle around the submarine passing the stern at a remarkable speed, the electronic systems went haywire…again. The sailors lost sight of the huge object and in split seconds everything got back to normal. Air Force authorities attempted to explain the sighting as an exploding weather satellite.
3. The 1986 Brazilian Air Force Chase
On the night of May 19th, 1989 the Brazilian Air Defense command saw foreign objects travelling at speeds of 1,000 mph. Binoculars showed that the travelling objects were red-orange in color with defined edges. Ozires Silva’s private jet, a retired air force colonel spotted the objects at an altitude of 10,000 feet. He gave the orders to follow the objects. Two F-5E jet fighters were launched from Anapolis airbase to intercept the objects but were first unable to visually confirm the objects. As the jets attempted to close the distance, the objects were maneuvering in a zigzag motion before disappearing into thin air. And up to this day, it all remains a mystery...
4. The Dulce Incident of 1979
The story is narrated by Schneider, an engineer contracted by the US government in 1979 to work on the construction of a secret military base in Dulce. He claims that the site had a heavily armed Special Forces Unit presence, until one day, when conducting underground drilling, the crew came face to face with gray-skinned aliens. The military escort opened fire and managed to kill two of them before one fired some sort of plasma beam back at them. America lost sixty men that day- both soldiers and engineers were killed. Only a handful made it out alive. The aliens retreated to the cavern and it is believed they may still be there until today. Later on, Schneider was found murdered execution style.
5. The 1998 Chinese Air Force Encounter
Eye witnesses at a military flight training school in Changzhou, Hebei province report seeing UFOs that looked like small stars that had a mushroom-shaped dome on top, and a flat bottom containing brilliant, rotating lights. As a military jet tried pursuing it got close, the object would shoot up and accelerate out of range before returning to a position right above it. The pilot was denied permission to open fire and had to break off his pursuit at an altitude of 39,600 feet when he began running out of fuel.

A legendary cult documentary equally infamous for its subject matter as well as its scarcity, director Gary Weis traveled uptown in 1979 to provide an unflinching, hilarious, and sometimes shocking depiction of the South Bronx neighborhood and, in particular, two African American and Puerto Rican gangs known as the "Savage Skulls" and the "Savage Nomads."
Facing severe sociopolitical decay throughout the 70s, the South Bronx is portrayed as a crime-infested, all out no-man's-land war zone where the battle lines are drawn between warring factions of youth street gangs.
Commonly referred to as the real life version of THE WARRIORS, the film is a brilliant snapshot of a bygone era and a stark reminder of the damage that had been wreaked on parts of New York throughout the 70s; the abandoned districts, burnt-out buildings and human waste serving as the end point for a decade of mismanagement and unaddressed social problems. Spectacle is proud to present this landmark work in a brand new remastered version.

NO LEGS follows two self-righteous police detectives (one with the obligatory porn-stache) tracking dope dealers and corrupt fellow cops, while trying to stay out of the clutches of unstoppable mob enforcer. Mr. No Legs, a martial arts master with many a violent trick hidden up his sleeves—and wheelchair, including shotguns, switchblades and ninja stars!
Meanwhile, racists start a rumble in a bar involving midgets and drag queens, whores get into broken bottle fights, and everyone double-crosses everyone else. Mayhem galore!
Featuring a shameless cast of B- and C-listers, including Richard Jaeckel, Lloyd Bochner, John Agar, Rance (Ron’s dad!) Howard, and real-life double amputee Ted Vollrath as the snarling No Legs.
It’s a convoluted, ultraviolent, tasteless, trashy B-movie actioner that was directed by the Creature from the Black Lagoon! That’s right, director Ricou Browning was the former Olympian who found fame in Hollywood playing the Gill Man for Universal Studios, and later supervised the underwater sequences on the TV show Flipper.
Mean-spirited and vicious, Mr. No Legs is the finest sort of exploitation cinema.

You know, a lot of you have probably had this dream. The dream of leaving the hustle and bustle of your day job behind - let's say your job is being a traveling shoe salesman for instance, let's also say that's it's put such a strain on you and your family and your home life that it's given you a "bleeding ulcer." Selling shoes. Anyway, the next logical step in your dream would be to...open a movie theater, right? OF COURSE! It's way easier than selling shoes. Well, friends, that happens to be the exact dream of a Mr. Mitford Webster. He's had it! Through with the shoe game! So when "they" finally accept his bid on the old local theater - The Crest - (which, by the way, was shut down for showing PORNOGRAPHY!) he's in there like swimwear.
Mitford gets the whole family together to clean up "pigeon BM", hang decorations, stock the snack bar over and over and - naturally - talk about how much they love hot dogs at every chance they get. They hire a nerdly projectionist with the hots for Mitfords daughter and soon the bright lights of the marquee are setting the night ablaze as opening night is upon them! Keeping good on his promise to the townsfolk to show "nothing harder than a G" (coincidentally, the name of my new rap album) Mitford & Company come out swinging with GRIZZLY SAFARI WHOLESOME MOVIE. With nearly the whole town in attendance - what could go wrong? Well, after the electrocution of the aforementioned nerdly projectionist - a terrible skeleton is discovered hanging behind the screen. So much for wholesome. Enter Lt. Wombat (for real) to solve the mystery. Will the family heed the warnings of the crusty hobo telling them of their impending doom? Who is the even crustier rat-biting, Jean Harlow obsessive? Who really likes hot dogs this much? What happens at the end of GRIZZLY SAFARI WHOLESOME MOVIE?
While Derek Savage shows a clear love for old timey movies, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the family unit, rats, and more - the true star of this PG rated head-scratcher is, you guessed it, MEAT. Though not explicitly stated, not long into it's 85 minute runtime it becomes clear that the Meat Council has sunk it's claws deep into the banking of this film. On more than one occasion, all action stops to extol the virtues of hot dogs and their various nutrients. One has to wonder how good it can be for a shoe-selling-induced-bleeding-ulcer to have hot dog after hot dog piled on it, but, hey, we're not doctors.
All told THE MEATEATER (aka BLOOD THEATER) is not a perfect film, though it is one you are not likely to forget anytime soon and certainly has that particular je ne sais hot dog that we find so endearing. In fact, once you've MUSTARD the strength to get your BUNS in the seat and watch it, you might find you actually RELISH it. I'll show myself out.

This is an important presentation - for those who don't know, the VFX industry is in crisis with many facilities either struggling to make a living or going bankrupt. This is a world-wide industry problem, highlighted by the movie, Life of Pi, which brought in a tremendous profit, yet the VFX company which made the movie possible is now out of business.
The State of the VFX Industry is not just about the VFX Industry. It is about us all. Scott Ross and Scott Squires speak about the Past, Present and Future of the VFX Industry and potential solutions to the myriad of problems facing us all.
**About Scott Ross**
As one of the most notable pioneers in digital media and entertainment, Scott Ross’ career has been stellar.
He founded, along with Hollywood luminaries James Cameron and Stan Winston, Digital Domain, one of the largest digital production studios in the motion picture and advertising industries. Under Ross’ direction, Digital Domain garnered multiple Academy Award nominations, receiving its first Oscar for the ground breaking visual effects in TITANIC. That success was followed by a second Oscar for WHAT DREAMS MAY COME and a third for THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. Digital Domain received additional nominations for TRUE LIES, APOLLO 13 and I, ROBOT and has won four Scientific and Technical Achievement Academy Awards for its proprietary software. For well over a decade Ross oversaw the company that created imagery for movies such as TITANIC, THE FIFTH ELEMENT, APOLLO 13, FIGHT CLUB, TRUE LIES, INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU, X-MEN, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, I, ROBOT and many, many others. His career began with the development of the Cloud Tank Effect for CLOSE ENCOUNTERTS OF THE THRID KIND. His creative and technical problem solving combined with his knowledge and experience has allowed him to achieve the artistic vision of his directors. Squires received Oscar nominations for Best Achievement in Visual Effects for THE MASK, DRAGONHEART and STAR WARS: EPISODE ONE - THE PHANTOM MENACE. He also received a Scientific and Engineering Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his pioneering work in the area of Film Input Scanning.
Squires co-founded Dream Quest Images where he was a Visual Effects Supervisor, as well as the company’s president for six years. Dream Quest was a leading visual effects facility from 1979-2001 before it was purchased by Disney Studios.

After leaving high school early, he attended Hampshire College and the University of Cincinnati, graduating from Hampshire in 1975 with a degree in Physics and Philosophy. He attended Harvard University for graduate school receiving a Ph.D. in theoretical physics in 1979. He held postdoctoral positions at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, The Institute for Theoretical Physics (now KITP) in Santa Barbara and the Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago. This was followed by faculty positions at Yale, Syracuse and Penn State Universities, where he helped to found the Center for Gravitational Physics and Geometry. He also held visiting positions at varioous times at Cambridge and Oxford Universities and at SISSA and the Universities of Rome and Trento in Italy. He was a Visiting Professor at Imperial College from 1999 to 2001. In September of 2001 he moved to Canada to be a founding member of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, where he has been ever since.
Lee’s main contributions to research are so far to the field of quantum gravity. He was, with Abhay Ashtekar and Carlo Rovelli, a founder of the approach known as loop quantum gravity, but he has contributed to other approaches including string theory and causal dynamical triangulations. He is also known for proposing the notion of the landscape of theories, based on his application of Darwinian methods to Cosmology. He has contributed also to the foundations of quantum mechanics, elementary particle phyiscs and theoretical biology. He also has a strong interest in philosophy and his three books, Life of the Cosmos, Three Roads to Quantum Gravity and The Trouble with Physics are in part philosophical explorations of issues raised by contemporary physics.
Lee’s hobbies include jazz guitar and dingy sailing. Recently he enjoys making a fool of himself on an old contender.

New York City's Queen of Graffiti: LADY PINK
She’s taken illegal street art to the halls of America’s most prestigious galleries; an icon in New York City’s graffiti history, she was the first female to break into a male-dominated scene.
Lady Pink, whose real name is Sandra Fabara, was born in Ecuador, raised in Queens. Her work has been admired throughout the big apple on subway trains, neighborhood murals, and in galleries since 1979.
Pink recalls sneaking into subway tunnels by night, vandalizing and tagging subway cars, then "bombing" private property with other well-known graffiti artists of that era, the Crazy Five. In order to survive, she had to toughen up fast.
“They would look out for me, like a little sister, like anybody would, and I felt safe that way,” she said.
Often, Pink risked her life or was arrested for the sake of her art. It was key to get the work finished fast, to memorize her steches, and work in complete darkness, to avoid getting hauled off by the cops.
“Your have to develop night vision when you’re working illegally. You have to recognize your paint when you pick it up, and know what it is that you’re doing because you can’t see anything,” she said.
A feminist at heart, her work exemplifies themes of political activism and the injustice of women in the U.S.
30 years later, she's turned her illegal street art into a profit, exhibiting in galleries and doing mural work on commission.
"My art is basically what I am. I am what I do.I couldn’t hold down a 9-5 job if I tried," she said.

Believe it or not, Pink's husband, Roger Smith, is also a graffiti artist. Their first date was painting subway trains back in 1990. "That's when we fell in love," she said. They were chased by the cops, but got away. Now, the pair run their own mural company.

"It is nearly impossible to try and preserve something for the sake of art. And when we painted subway trains, perhaps we learned that lesson the hardest of all. You paint your train, kiss it goodbye – never see it again.
It is an experience in time and place that you just cannot keep.
In the beginning when I first started as a graffiti artist, it is the custom to paint your name. You pick a nickname, which I chose Lady Pink. And to paint your name repeatedly, over, and over, and over again. It’s the American way of hyping yourself up like a logo –look at me, look at me, here I am.
When you’re doing illegal work you have to prepare a little bit differently.
You gotta dress in darker clothing, wipe the fingerprints from your spray paint, wear gloves, if you must. Maybe a ski mask. And you have to do it under extreme pressure, with your knees shaking, you heart in your throat, and you’re scared to death. And yet you have to perform, you have to continue, you have a deadline, the sun is coming up, the people are going to come and take this train away and you have to finish.
I got my start as an artist at the age of 15 by painting on the New York subway trains, which is not exactly allowed, but I had a passion for my art and nothing could stop me.
When I came along in 1979 there were no other females painting so I was the only one.
Folks still call me a graffiti artist, but I haven’t done any illegal graffiti in a couple of decades. I use spray paint in my murals –but using spray paint is not graffiti. Graffiti is when you don’t have permission to paint something.
I’ve been exhibiting in galleries and traveling around the world doing my art, painting murals for over 30 years.
I think that graffiti has changed over the years, and people’s perspective that it isn’t just vandalism. It’s been accepted as contemporary art.
It’s unpredictable. The energy is infectious. The chaos theory is alive and well here. People come from all parts of the world to paint on New York City because this is the mecca for graffiti.
But we can’t teach you to be a criminal. That has to be inside you. That drive to be a vandal and break the law has to be in you. Not just a little double parking and jay walking, but I mean some serious crimes like trespassing and stealing paint and lying and living a double life – all of that stuff. It has to be part of you."
