Moray (/ˈmʌri/ MUH-ree; Scottish Gaelic: Moireibh or Moireabh, Latin: Moravia) is one of the 32 Local Government council areas of Scotland. It lies in the north-east of the country, with coastline on the Moray Firth, and borders the council areas of Aberdeenshire and Highland.
Between 1975 and 1996 Moray, with similar boundaries, was a district of the then Grampian Region.
The Moray council area was created in 1996, under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994, with the boundaries of the former Moray district of the two-tier Grampian Region, which replaced the old county of Moray in 1974, though it had different boundaries.
In Scottish independence referendum on 18 September 2014 Moray voted "no":
In the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (Westminster), the council area is covered the Moray (Westminster) constituency.
In the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood), most of the council area is covered by the Moray (Holyrood) constituency, which is in the Highlands and Islands electoral region. The Keith area (most of the Keith and Cullen ward), however, is within the Banffshire and Buchan Coast constituency, which is in the North East Scotland electoral region.

Thomas Henry Moray (August 28, 1892 - May 18, 1974) was an inventor from Salt Lake City, Utah. He received a US patent 2,460,707 in February 1949, after a process of 17 years in discussions with the patent office. The main components of the patent were an LC circuit resonator and a set of vacuum power tubes of diode type using uranium and radium power sources and doped germanium semiconductors on the cathodes. It was an early example of doped semiconductors and a forerunner of radioactive power supplies using radioactive isotopes in space research. Moray's device followed other work on nuclear batteries first done in 1913 by Henry Moseley using a radium source.
Moray's invention was not commercially successful because of the high manufacturing cost compared to the amount of power produced and the small market for atomic powered batteries. Many unsubstantiated claims have been made in connection with attempts to sell books or ask for money. One claim was five kilowatts of electricity produced from a device costing sixty thousand dollars to build in 1926. If true, it represents a high cost for electricity compared to other sources, except in special situations like space research
In physics, energy is a property of objects which can be transferred to other objects or converted into different forms, but cannot be created or destroyed. The "ability of a system to perform work" is a common description, but it is difficult to give one single comprehensive definition of energy because of its many forms. For instance, in SI units, energy is measured in joules, and one joule is defined "mechanically", being the energy transferred to an object by the mechanical work of moving it a distance of 1 metre against a force of 1 newton. However, there are many other definitions of energy, depending on the context, such as thermal energy, radiant energy, electromagnetic, nuclear, etc., where definitions are derived that are the most convenient.
Common energy forms include the kinetic energy of a moving object, the potential energy stored by an object's position in a force field (gravitational, electric or magnetic), the elastic energy stored by stretching solid objects, the chemical energy released when a fuel burns, the radiant energy carried by light, and the thermal energy due to an object's temperature. All of the many forms of energy are convertible to other kinds of energy, and obey the law of conservation of energy which says that energy can be neither created nor be destroyed; however, it can change from one form to another.
Thomas Henry (born Thomas Henry Fisher) (1879–1962) was an English illustrator, best remembered for his illustrations of Richmal Crompton's William books.
Thomas Henry Fisher was born in 1879 at Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. The oldest of 3 brothers, he became an apprentice to T. Bailey Forman (Nottingham newspaper proprietors and printers) at the young age of fourteen. Numerous paintings and sketches he made outside contract were used by his employers for publishing merchandise like wall calendars. He parallelly attended the Nottingham School of Art.
His first published works are probably cartoons for the Nottingham Football Post, in September, 1904. He parallelly freelanced under the name of Thomas Henry. Pastel and watercolour were his chosen mediums at that time.
Thomas Henry was associated with the advertising division of Nottingham-based cigarette firm John Players and was reputed to have assisted in the updating of the famous sailor's head, found on the Navy Cut cigarette packet.

From 1926 to 1939, Dr. T. Henry Moray demonstrated apparently limitlessly renewable FREE electromagnetic energy, initially 3,500 Watts and eventually improved to 50 kW, at any arbitrary point in the desert, e.g. 50 miles from the nearest power line, with a 30-yard antenna between two 5-foot high tent poles and radio crystal-set era electronics.

Dr. Henry Moray developed a curious energy device that evidently produced tens of kilowatts for hours, without battery or electrical grid connection. He demonstrated his device to numerous scientists, including a demo to Dr. Harvey Fletcher in about 1928. Dr. Fletcher wrote an affidavit testifying of his observations of the device which he had notarized in Provo, Utah, prior to his passing. I have been inspired (along with many others worldwide) to work on developing a like energy device, for the benefit of mankind. This video briefly records a little of my progress in this research. This is the first video in a series which investigates the possibility of extraction of energy from the ground. This has been done before by Thomas Henry Moray in the 1920's. The video demonstrates that a bank of 52 white led's can be lit brightly when an earth wire is connected. The power supply registers no change in the current supplied to the circuit whether the load is connected or not. There is no overunity performance suggested or implied. The circuit diagram and tuning for this circuit is described in video 2. The link to that video follows; https://youtu.be/GufTw6ECoz4 Please subscribe to ensure future videos are not missed. Thank you for watching.
I have always wanted to test a radiant energy motor. This little motor is the beginning of my research in that direction. In the near future I will be making larger more powerful motors. The precision required will probably require my 3D printer. Stay tuned for future updates. You can also use high voltage and high frequency to power a light bulb only with your hand. I think this is what they called "cold electricity" and this is the electricity that Thomas Henry Moray had produced with his device. We really need to educate ourself in this field. In Cusco, and the Sacred Valley, magnificent ruins await the adventurous traveler. The most famous of all is Machu Picchu. Cusco is the former capital of the Inca Empire of the Sun. Since the 16th century, Spanish colonial buildings were built atop former Inca Palaces, of which only the foundations remain. Examples in the central Plaza de Armas are the Cusco Cathedral and La Compañia church. Another striking example is Qorikancha, the former golden courtyard of the Temple of the Sun. The Spanish used stones from Sacsayhuaman, an Inca stronghold overlooking the city. In the Urubamba Valley, or Sacred Valley, visitors can see the mysterious Moray Terraces and the pre-Inca Salt Mines of Maras. Ollantaytambo is a living Inca city and its towering ruins form the start of the Inca Trail to Ma...
Vacation travel video about destination Edinburgh in Scotland. In the centre of the old town, Edinburgh Castle sits atop the basalt cone of a long-extinct volcano. It is the most visited castle in Scotland and still guarded by soldiers but it is now mainly tourists who storm the defiant rock. Northumbrian king, Edwin, commanded the castle to be built in the seventh century A.D., the "castle on the hill", Edinburgh. The Royal Mile leads from the mighty fortress, downwards, a sloping road from which narrow streets branch off. Just off the upper Royal Mile is the church and cemetery of Greyfriars with its many historical and atmospheric tombs. Its cemetery became well known due to two Irishmen who exhumed newly-buried corpses in 1827 in order to sell them to the local anatomical institute. The...

Exploring Moray and Maras in The Sacred Valley, Peru, with kids. On our Journey to Machu Picchu we visited lots of Incan sites. They are all unique and all equally impressive but there were a couple that stood out for my kids. For my son it was Moray, which consisted of three enormous pits, each with huge terraced circular depressions (similar to crop circles) – the largest is approximately 30m (98ft) deep. Remarkably there is a difference of 15C (27F) in temperature between the top and the bottom of the terraces, leading researchers to speculate that Moray was a place where the Incas conducted agricultural experiments on crops. Visitors are not allowed to walk on the terraces themselves but a path that runs around the outer edge makes for a very pleasant and – compared to many other I...

Funny how time can take you by surprise
It creeps up in the night to give you butterflies
I'm happy spending time with you it's the thing to do I love it but I'm sure
I'd love a Henry Moore
I know a work of art when I meet one face to face
The trouble at the start is when you're feeling out of place
I'd like to get a room with a view and a comfy deep pile carpet on the floor
On which to place my Henry Moore
He's an acquired taste
But nothing goes to waste
The trouble is there's not a lot around
And in this situation
What with some high inflation
His value stands up well against the pound
He perfectly describes the generation gap
He used to draw the crowds sleeping underneath the map
I could fall asleep like a sheep with my head between your pillows by the door
Gazing at my Henry Moore
He's an acquired taste
But nothing goes to waste
The trouble is there's not a lot around
And in this situation
What with some high inflation
His value stands up well against the pound
I can guarantee the pleasure you will find
So have a spending spree it will help you to unwind
You can't go too far wrong with the oblong three dimensional adventure take a tour
