I love Sherman the tortoise

Mike Earl takes care of Sherman (Tank’s brother) and had to start bringing the sulcata tortoise to Liberty Park after “buses and things were stopping in the middle of the road.”

Eliza Floisand loves tumbling

“Once [I] get on the floor, all my fear goes away. My body knows how to do it perfectly, just like I’ve done it in the gym.”

Eliza Floisand started gymnastics classes as a young girl, but by the time she was 10 years old, she realized exactly what she liked: tumbling. “I don’t like the bars or the beam,” she told her mother, Caralee Novak Floisand, who competed on the University of Utah gymnastics team from 1985 to 1987.
At age 17, Eliza, a senior at East High, is ranked third in the country in senior elite tumbling in the girls’ 17-and -older category, and placed ninth at the World Championships in Denmark last December.

Natalia Castilla loves making wigs


Utah Shakespeare Festival Hair and Makeup Director and Wigmaster Natalia Castilla has been making wigs at Utah Shakespeare Festival for the past seven years. “I think costumes do a ton as far as endowing the actor with a sense of reality inside of their character,” Castilla said. “But when you transform their face, something they are so familiar with, it’s the next level…it’s the icing on top. It changes how they perceive themselves as they are getting ready.”
