Cat Marnell was fired in a blaze of glory a few years back from her writing gig with Jane Pratt's once great website, XOJane. She was a beauty editor who preferred to smoke angel dust on NYC rooftops than file her stories you see. Now, the witty and wacky writer has penned a memoir - albeit from rehab in Thailand - about her descent into addiction. Starting with her wealthy, dyfunctional upbringing and her teenage abortion to getting thrown out of a Cirque du Soleil performance. I'm only up to chapter 4 and have needed at least three "cup of tea, bex and a good lie down" breaks but I won't quit it, it's a great, funny, pervy read. The sassy Swedes have released an advertising campaign to encouraging punters to not be fooled by imitators. The campaign lists its distinguishing features, so you won't get fooled. Basically if it rustles, it’s real, and if it’s easily cleaned with a hose, it's real. -
