The Tories were members of two political parties which existed, sequentially, in the Kingdom of England, the Kingdom of Great Britain and later the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from the 17th to the early 19th centuries.
The first Tories emerged in 1678 in England, when they opposed the Whig-supported Exclusion Bill which set out to disinherit the heir presumptive James, Duke of York (who eventually became James II of England and VII of Scotland). This party ceased to exist as an organised political entity in the early 1760s, although it was used as a term of self-description by some political writers. A few decades later, a new Tory party would rise to establish a hold on government between 1783 and 1830, with William Pitt the Younger followed by Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool.
The Earl of Liverpool was succeeded by fellow Tory Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, whose term included the Catholic Emancipation, which occurred mostly due to the election of Daniel O'Connell as a Catholic MP from Ireland. When the Whigs subsequently regained control, the Representation of the People Act 1832 removed the rotten boroughs, many of which were controlled by Tories. In the following general election, the Tory ranks were reduced to 180 MPs. Under the leadership of Robert Peel, the Tamworth Manifesto was issued, which began to transform the Tories into the Conservative Party. However, Peel lost many of his supporters by repealing the Corn Laws, causing the party to break apart. One faction, led by the Earl of Derby and Benjamin Disraeli, survived to become the modern Conservative Party, whose members are commonly still referred to as Tories.
Owen Jones may refer to:
A Tory holds a political philosophy (Toryism) based on a British version of traditionalism and conservatism. In politics, the Tory political faction originated with the Cavalier faction during the English Civil War (sometimes more scrupulously known as the "Wars of the Three Kingdoms"). This political philosophy is prominent in the politics of the United Kingdom, and also appears in parts of the Commonwealth, particularly in Canada. It also had exponents in parts of the former British Empire, such as the Loyalists of British America who opposed American secession during the American War of Independence. The Tory ethos has been summed up with the phrase 'God, King and Country'. Tories generally advocate monarchism, are usually of a High Church Anglican religious heritage, and are opposed to the liberalism of the Whig faction. Under the Corn Laws (1815–1846) a majority of Tories supported protectionist agrarianism with tariffs being imposed at the time for sustainability, self-sufficiency and enhanced wages in rural employment.
Conservative Party may refer to:

Series exploring the history of the people and ideas behind what became known as Thatcherism. This edition tells of the radicals in the political wilderness after WWII who saw the foundation of the Welfare State as the thin end of a totalitarian wedge. At first they were seen as cranks, but gradually they attracted supporters within the political mainstream. It was only when Margaret Thatcher became leader of the Conservative party that they saw a champion.

Christopher Hitchens on CSPAN in 1987 discusses the unemployed and unemployable underclass caused by Thatcherite policies, an underclass which have never recovered and now suffer more under Tory rule than ever before. The discussion then moves onto underlying racism within the Tory party in the 1980s and prior.
A country that works for everyone – that's the slogan at Theresa May's first Conservative party conference as Prime Minister. The phrase is plastered absolutely everywhere over the conference centre in Birmingham. But is it actually true? I loved filming/editing this wedding so much! This couple had a Coachella meets the beach vibe at their venue, Casa Romantica in San Clemente. Amanda's turquoise and silver aztec-like accessories paired with Tory's awesome maroon suit and green-toned tropical tie worked perfectly together. Not only did they have rad style, but great taste in music and the most adorable chemistry I could possibly capture. Hope you guys enjoy this one! Over five hundred people took part in a rally at Barker's Pool called to oppose the proposed pact between the Tory party and the DUP. The rally was one of many organised around the UK by Young Labour in response to Theresa's May's decision to negotiate a deal with the DUP to prop up her minority government. It's always a pleasure when we get to head up to Whistler for the weekend, doubly so when it's to spend with a couple like Lois & Tory. Usually when you think of heading into the mountains it's for a snowy, cold trip with skiing, snowboarding, and enjoying hot beverages by a steamy fire. We were enjoying the heat alright but thanks to the blazing sun, no stoking of the fire was required. The sunny weekend lasted from start to finish and we were all burning up (albeit for different reasons than the wedding party who were dancing up a storm). If we needed lessons on how to have a good time, we should have been taking notes from this rambunctious group. Despite only being a close-knit group of family and friends from out of town, they made use of every inch of the dance floor. They ev...
On the 9th May 2015 hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the Tory HQ to protest about the election results the day before. Despite Cameron being only backed by 24% of the registered voters, he succeeded in creating a majority Tory government for the next 5 years. First Past the Post is an archaic undemocratic electoral system that only favours the top two parties. Today in times of multi-party politics, it is time for change. How can a majority government be elected for the whole of the UK on the opinion of just 11 million voters?

The British Conservative party is diametrically opposed to the good of the British public and deliberately acts against their interests and then lies about the result. At this point, their motives are irrelevant. If you are not a millionaire, the Conservative Party is not your friend. Sources: http://pastebin.com/i6p4w08A

London mayor Boris Johnson packs out the conference hall to deliver his 2013 conference speech. The picture breaks up in places, this is beyond what BBC Parliament could do, but they did not provide an explanation as to what happened. Recorded from BBC Parliament, 01 October 2013.
O this is what it feels like
To carry the weight of the world on your shoulders
Oh, we'll grow wings and take flight
Hand in hand
Like ghosts in the sky
Cause I'm not so sure
That I can do this anymore
This journey is taking it's toll on me
This is no task for just a boy
There is no time to waste
Press on
Or you'll find your fate in the sea
Head first
Into a saltwater sky
These are dangerous waters we tread
How could you ask this of me
I am starting to realize
That I'm not cut out for this
Blue and green
Swallowing me
These are dangerous waters we tread
