Bringing trade unions into the Internet age: The first twenty years
It feels like I have been at this for a very long time.
I was introduced to the Internet in 1993 while working as editor of the just-launched quarterly magazine, Workers Education.
We devoted an entire issue of the publication to discussing how workers' education groups and trade unions were beginning to use the new computer communications technology.
The result was a regular column, followed by a full-length book, The Labour Movement and the Internet: The New Internationalism.
And that book led directly to the creation of LabourStart, the news and campaigning website of the international trade union movement.
The rest is history prologue.
